Finess Basic Hotel — Hotel in Malacca

I stayed here about 2 months ago, and for the price it is pretty decent. ... What's good: Very affordable, low price point (less than RM100) for a room with queen sized bed Location is pretty good, maybe about 5 -10 mins to city centre Clean overall and the toilet is pretty nice ... What can be improved: The bed is hard - for me Soundproofing in the room you can hear the outside noise from vehicles that pass by the hotel area (this is quite common for "shoplot hotels" I believe) walking the hallway to your room, you can hear noises from other room, but when you are in your own room somehow its not so bad ... Why 4 stars for the review? I believe it should be reviewed with respect to the price, I would not judge it using the lens of a 5-star hotel. My boyfriend and me stayed for few days to discover beauties of Melaka. Hotel has a good location, 15min walking to the famous Jonker street. Right in front is an amazing food court, very cheap with all cuisine what Malaysia can offer. For breakfast you can find places right next to the hotel with fresh cakes, bread and delicious coffee however the prices are much higher then in the street market, but it worth it;)|The hotel is very new and well designed, bathroom is incredible! |Sadly the bed is too hard to sleep on and when I ask for extra blanket or pillow, they ask for 5rm per item per day. The staff at the reception is very friendly, but they do not know much about the city, laundry service or basically any information which would be helpful. |Also be ready to find only Malay...

AVOID THIS PLACE First, when I checked in, there were two dirty cups that were used already. There were some yellow stain on my linen. There is no elevator. No tissue, no conditioner, no shower booth, no slipper, no table, no chair, no water, no refrigerator, no housekeeping(I didnt hang ‘do not disturb’ sign), no hair dryer(you need to pay for it to borrow overnight or you can take the stairs up and down every time you need it) compared to the same price budget hotel that I went in KL, this one is way worse. It looks clean on the outside (new building, good interior) and reception is not rude. However I wouldn’t come here again.
