OYO Home 935 Breathtaking Studio Imperio Residence — Hotel in Malacca

We stayed here for 3 nights. The room was very new and stylish with a nice view of the sea, however there were a few problems. Some of these problems are due to the building still being under construction.

Our first problem was finding the place. The location provided on the website I booked it on was wrong. It was about a 15 minute walk from that location. Finding the entrance was another issue, it's around the back side of the building down a closed road.

Secondly, the booking website stated check in was open until 00:00. We arrived about 23:15, and were lucky enough to catch the staff as they were leaving out the door to go home. I don't know what we would've done if we were a minute later...

The next problem was the smell. I assume it's because the building is new, but there was a very strong sickly smell throughout the corridors and inside our room. I'm not sure what it was, but I can only describe is as a chemical smell similar to paint. We turned on the fan and aircon to try and get rid of the smell but it didn't help much. The next morning we realised the windows could be opened, and that helped remove most of the smell in the room (or maybe we became used to it).

Some other notable issues: • The bathtub was leaking, so it was not possible to take a bath without leaving the taps running, or all the water would drain away. • One of the towels had stains • The bedsheets had several stains • No kettle in the kitchen, had to boil water in a frying pan which after using I noticed had a little bit of rust. • No detergent for washing machine. • Only provided 1 small toilet paper roll and when we asked for another one were told as it was after 6pm we had to wait until the next day. • No bottled water was provided. • TV did not have many channels and the signal was very weak making it pretty much unwatchable.

Overall, I'd say it would be a very nice place when all work has been completed and issues have been sorted. The staff and security were actually very friendly people. However I wouldn't come...

Stay here for 3 nights. Before arrived, i ask OYO, either the Swimming Pool is already fully operate or not. Received the confirmation that the swimming pool is fully operated. Once i arrived and make full payment including the deposit, they informed me that the Swimming Pool are close for maintenance. ( Because of injury of a foreigner a day before). This make me super frustrated. 3 Nights stay without swimming experience. As i bring my kid to get wet here, i felt so frustrated. I know it's very hard to cancel this trip and very hard to get refund from OYO. As this building is not complete construct well, i feel not convenient to stay here. Heard a construction/renovation work from morning to night is very annoying. Oyo home room is nice with fresh decorations and furniture. Love inside the room but super hate outside the door. The corridor was so dusty, lift lobby looks so dull and super dusty. Cctv not operate yet. Parking lot? Super messy with construction substances. Hope a good and true information from oyo after this. Cheating customer to stay in just to fill your properties is not a sincere!

We had a late checked in due to room unavailable. We waited around 35 mins.

Room - city view, the smell of the room is unpleasant and mouldy. No hair dryer(please bring your own), recommend you to bring your own towels, I did.

Toilet- Mouldy smell with no water heater however luckily the cold shower wasn't too cold. The toilet do not have any floor mat, please walk carefully.

Lift- the access card to go to our floor wasn't working for two particular lifts and we do not understand the reason. My partner has stomache and almost burst out in his Gucci pant😅. However we got the security guard to help us access to our floor.

Staffs are friendly and polite.

This is my first time staying at this property. I will not come back to stay here again. Our experience is not good. I am happy with staffs but definitely the property management needs to continue to put effort in managing this...
