We were here for our 18th wedding anniversary and this time wanted to really stay in a different place. We chose this to explore something new and we are happy with the services.
Plus Inside the room you get a king sized bed based on your booking, TV, AC, tea cups, hot water kettle, brushing kit and wash room with nice powerful-shower. Everyday there was a camp fire set at 9 pm and it was awesome being around that in chilled nights. Pray it shouldn’t rain for that to happen. If you do not have internet, you are dependent on the wifi at the resort and usually it is a bit slower. Slow internet is a plus because u get to spend time with family leaving all your official worries behind and away from internet Jacuzzi- though when i saw the pics earlier , I thought how can the Jacuzzi’s fit into rustic camping. But I was wrong as it was so relaxing to have hot water jet and it can easily accommodate two adults and a kid. Look out for a dedicated jacuzzi based room instead of a common jacuzzi The rooms and property are located in side lush greenery and trees and be blessed to be awakened by chirping birds and sound of water as there is very small stream of water flowing right inside the property good enough to make sound One room is just enough and more than spacious for two adults and kid. Recommend to take additional blanket. There are number of indoor games which you can take from reception like chess, caroms, lot of books if u are book worm and all this u need not pay anything There js a common dining area where u r served breakfast everyday. Resort staff were kind enough to serve vegetarian breakfast on request only. You can use oven, barbecue, fridge facilities of the common dining area. Remember fridge is only available in common dining area. Barbecue is setup by resort staff in the evening. Nice parking for 4 wheelers. You can travel around in grab transport of you don’t have own car. Every time I booked grab, I got the can within 5-6 minutes. You can go out for a walk in morning or evening times around the resort as there will be no vehicles around it is an interior place.
Improvements Currently there is no kitchen in the property, but an active kitchen and cook can help. While breakfast is served , lunch and dinner you are on your own. However a walk of 700 m will give you a number of options for all cuisines which either you can pack and eat in the dining area. You can also avail grab transport and drop in there for around 10-15 RM. Note that when we were here, there was no food delivery service and even grab food has no options displayed. You can still try though.
The property is 15 min away from duty free genting premium outlets, 25 min away from sky-world/first world resort and 15 min away from Buddha cave temple.
Thank you Rust camping resorts we had a wonderful time...
Read moreUpon checking in, the room’s door lock was faulty, but the facility management fixed it promptly. I sat on a chair at the porch area in front of the reception and it broke; fortunately, I did not get injured.
The room itself is extremely basic but habitable if you’re spending most of your day out. If you intend to stay in, don’t - it gets very warm due to the wooden construct of the room.
The shower’s temperature control is ultra-sensitive - a minor adjustment will change the hot water to cold water and vice versa.
There is a campfire every night, which is pleasant and congruent to the Glamping experience. An opportunity for value-adding would be providing marshmallows for guests to roast.
It should be noted that as the resort is situated in a forested area, expect small insects that are attracted to light at night. To avoid insects from congregating on your white bedsheets (as it reflects light), turn off the main ceiling light and use the side lamps instead.
The private outdoor jacuzzi was a welcomed amenity, but at 488MYR/night (110USD) for the Garden View King Room (with a private jacuzzi) on an off-peak weekday, I found the value lacking. A more reasonable price for this experience would be in the vicinity of 300MYR/night (68USD).
During my two nights stay, my room was not made up - towels and bottled water were not replaced. For the price I paid, I think that basic housekeeping should be provided.
Traveling to and fro Genting Highlands is a bit of a challenge if you’re not driving, as the location cannot be found via Grab’s GPS. Inform your driver to use Google Maps and send him the directions (see map attached - there are two ways in via Jalan Meranti; Lorong Genting View 7 is a one-way street that can only be used to exit). That saying, avoid the weekends and peak period if you’re not driving as it can be difficult to get a Grab booking.
It may be difficult to sleep in late in as the glass panels around the door allows a copious amount of light in. The sound proofing is also lacking as I could hear the conversations going on outside my room distinctly.
The breakfast provided tastes good but you should probably have it at 8:30am sharp as there are no food warmers placed below the chafing dish.
In general, the stay was a relatively enjoyable outdoorsy experience, but nowhere luxurious, which takes the glam out of Glamping.
The resort can consider providing outdoor activities such as target archery, movie screenings at night, or bicycles - which will help make the nearby Gohtong Jaya and Jalan Permai Town more accessible to improve the value...
Read moreThis will NOT be the peaceful quiet nature retreat you are looking for.||Extremely Noisy|• Next to the major highway (look on google maps) you will hear non-stop cars, lorries, motorcycles.|• Guests started doing a Disney songs singing competition with each other.|• Kids screaming running around playing at 10pm at night.|• Drunk loud birthday party next door, told the receptionist, they said there’s nothing they can do, it’s supposed to just die down at 12pm onwards due to policy. It did not.||Cabins|• The triangular shapes and green roofs look cute in pictures but don’t be deceived. It’s small and cramped inside, not cosy.|• Cabins are very close and are almost all facing each other. You will hear your neighbours. It’s crowded and unrelaxing.|• The bathroom has a level tiled floor, so the shower is not separated. So when you shower the whole bathroom will run with shower water. Wet feet trip to the toilet is a guarantee.||Common Area|• Jacuzzi was meant to be shared but there was one lady in it singing. Felt uncomfortable to share. • There were bubbles in the Jacuzzi. I’m sure that’s not allowed.|• Kids were putting rocks into the Jacuzzi. Imagine how dirty and damaged the Jacuzzi is at this point.||Price|• We paid RM349.20 through booking.com and this is extremely expensive for what we’re getting. An absolute rip off.|• We were in room R14, we chose the non-private jacuzzi option, but there is a shared jacuzzi option that had a mountain of bubbles in it. Not a chance.||Road|• The road coming up here had many potholes, was narrow and you’ll pass abandon dodgy buildings, you’ll wonder if you’re heading towards a dead body dumping site. You’ll wonder what or who is in there. And the abandon houses are only a few tens of meters away. That may be out of their control but, Rustcamps Resort did not even bother fixing the road leading to their place, I’m sure the answer is always to save cost. Or that they don’t own the road or something. Any excuse.. Of course..||Please do not come here. It’s not worth your money. I don’t understand how other guests gave them more than 1 star, it’s delusional. If you want a quiet getaway, just go to janda baik or many other better chalets around there for the same price. It’s not even that cooling around here, especially during the day. Don’t think just because you’re in “Genting”, it’s cool here at this level. The high rise apartments, congestion, crowd, disorganization, endless constructions, commercial shops, busy roads, have...
