Rooms were clean with nice finishes. Housekeeping did a great job. Only real issue was that our door wouldn't lock and it wasn't fixed properly for a couple of days. We were given the opportunity to change rooms. We stayed on 2nd floor and we had great views of ocean, malecon and pool area. Pool was unheated and not particularly large. Concierge booked our Isla Coronado tour. Restaurants were good. Locals regularly cruise Malecon with stereos blaring but that tends to end by 9 pm. Hotel did host NYE event ($199 U.S. per person). We did not attend but sounded like a great time. Would recommend to friends and family. Close to beaches, marina, restaurants, and plaza.

Clean Hotel with a friendly staff in the heart of Loreto Baja Mexico. We were in Loreto for a fishing tournament with some friends. This spot really exceeded my expectations. The rooms were really clean and every room had a view of the ocean with a nice balcony patio. Cold air conditioner and all tile floors with comfortable beds. The pool area was really nice....it had a pool side bar with a pizza oven. There in one restaurant on the property that will cook you daily catch, if desired. The location is great too....short walk to some great restaurants and Taco stands or to the market. Can't wait to go back!!!

We couldn’t have been happier with our stay. The Hotel is gorgeous with very good amenities. There are two restaurants and bars both with great food and service. The pool is really nice with access and service from the outdoor patio bar/pizza parlor. There is also a Starbucks in the hotel lobby. The employees provide very professional, friendly service. It is a small town and we were able to walk around with no rental car. They also offer boat tours out to the island or for fishing. We can’t wait to go back!

Tough experience with the Mision Hotel in Loreto.

We arrived in Loreto and had not booked a hotel for the night. My buddy and I found La Mision online and had a taxi drop us from the airport.

We were immediately greeted and shown a price a bit higher than what was listed online. When I showed the online price, the gentleman said I'd have to book it online for that price.

I asked if that would be ok, and he said absolutely. So, I booked my room for $163 and was surprised to see I was charged $268. $105 in online booking fees that (when I went back and looked) were listed in the SMALLEST PRINT I have ever seen.

I asked the gentleman what was up with the fees and he smirked and said there is nothing he could do. The price at the front desk was about $225 with taxes and fees (which is what my buddy paid).

They would not cancel the online booking and allow me to rebook. I asked If I could speak w a manager but was told they didn't have one in property. Really?

Oh well, getting scammed for $40 in mexico is nothing new. Just would not expect it from a high end hotel.

I was told I'd have a Mountain View room with a king bed. I got to the room and it was two double beds overlooking a VERY loud pool (hotel has only 6 floors and anyone on that side will have the noise).

My buddy was also told he'd have a Mountain View room with king bed. His room was also 2 doubles overlooking the pool.

Since they ripped me off for $40, the least they could do is honor a king bed. I went back to the lobby to the smirking knucklehead, and after a few minutes, was provided a key to another room.

Upon entry, the room seemed nice. It was large and clean. It had been a long day and I wanted a nice hot shower. After letting the water run for a couple minutes and playing w the stupid dial, I ended up w an ice cold shower. Even after 5 minutes in, nothing warmed up. Miserable.

In addition, there is no Mountain View. The backside of the hotel is a neighborhood with loud music that played well into the night (no peace through the windows).

There was ZERO view. Your options are loud pool or loud "alley". I imagine the locals were not happy with this hotel being built in this location and decided to annoy every guest they could by leaving loud music on.

We spoke with guests that said they were overcharged in the dining room the prior night, and I also saw Google reviews on the same issue. So, we went elsewhere for dinner.

There is no fridge in the room for food leftovers or to bring your own beverage. There was no ice machine that I could find. This is far from a High end hotel.

From the website, it looks like the hotel is in a great location. I'd suggest a good location, but not great. We walked past (and went into the lobbies) of several NICE hotels on the Promenade that we would have preferred.

Look around before...

Things to be aware of:

go elsewhere.

"ocean view" rooms is broad description, including anything on the water-facing side, including rooms with no view due to vegetation or because you're on the pool deck with no privacy and lower than the perimeter wall. I refused the first room and they did graciously provide an alternative.

The pool is very chilly and has limited sun. It's not heated, so beware that Whistler has warmer pools in winter than this one. Everyone comments on this. Christmas day, the hot tub is chilly too, and I'm told it must have been left off. Why not cover at night instead of massive surges in energy to re-heat and risk it being of no use to rate paying guests? But of course, they had time to complain to us by calling our room because we were drying our towels on the patio (to spare the maids a room to do on Christmas day). Can't make this stuff up! Perhaps they'd offer new towels when they called but no, not here.

Service is mediocre, and the staff will let empty cans accumulate around the pool for hours.

Hair in our tortilla and dirty tables at breakfast. The food with hair in it was quickly taken away, but nothing was done about it...pretend it didn't happen, right?

Loud late-night parties at the hotel's top floor disco that's closed to guests (and no response to an email about that fact that kept us awake with an early start the next day). I thought I was paying to rest and relax but they proved me wrong! Funny part is they have a strict silence sign for 10 pm, yet break their own rule when it benefits them.

And limited service...no way to refrigerate anything, or self-serve ice, and there was an attempt to get a mini fridge that mysteriously ended with no communication. If no one from the hotel is going to serve at the pool I should at least be able to fetch my own cold drinks from the room.

Our last day was blessed by a staff member who made getting new towels involve a form and a strong sewage smell in our bathroom.

Accommodations are ok (i.e. clean 3 star) but this is not even close to a luxury hotel if you've ever been to real ones. Management is completely absent and...

Let me start off by saying this was not our first time at this beautiful hotel and it won’t be the last. The hotel itself is located in a prime spot overlooking the beautiful ocean of the Sea of Cortez you cannot ask for a better view and not to mention the amazing sunrises simply spectacular. So my wife and I spent four nights there and enjoyed every bit of it from the amazing food prepared by some great chefs to the amazing staff that worked there and I truly mean amazing staff they are the ones that make this hotel what it is ,we were greeted every day by all the wonderful staff with smile, a handshake, a hug. From the moment we stepped into the lobby to the minute we left the hotel we were treated like royalty and I’m not exaggerating. These wonderful people will make your stay a wonderful one. My wife and I would like to send a special thank you to all these wonderful staff. Hopefully I don’t miss too many names,Fidilberto at front desk along with his co worker I apologize for not remembering her name,Jaffeth,Polo,Josue,Victor,|Anely,Javier,Erick,Nelson,Anabel,|Eloy,Edson,Ozloaldo hope I spelled it correctly, all from the restaurant Los Olivos and bar.Thank you all for your hospitality and friendship you all deserve to be recognized for your fantastic service.Once again thank you Hotel La Mision Loreto for a fantastic stay God bless you all and your families...
