Fri SEP 20, We arrived without a reservation. We walked in and informed the hostess there was 4 of us for dinner. The hostess asked me if I had a reservation? I replied "No" is one needed? As I looked into the restaurant with 1 table occupied and all others empty. A waiter then chimed in.....Yes, all those tables are reserved he said. He then said we only have 2 tables available, he pointed at a table for 2 and a table for 4. I said I will take the table for 4. After a quick wait he say us down. Lucky for us we were at the entrance near the hostess where I listened to the next group of people...they were told the same thing and took the last remaining open table for 2. Here is where it gets interesting. Two more groups came in. The first group of 2 were asked if they had reservations they responded " No" and they sat them down at one of the open "Reserved" tables. The next couple where white and they were simply escorted in without being asked if they had a reservation. I was up at the hostess desk asking about the wifi password and I asked the "white" lady if they had a reservation. She said "No" should I make one?, I responded, apparently not if your "White American" but you need one if your skin color is brown like mine. A lady came to see how our dinner experience was and frankly the meal itself was amazing. I told her the story and she apologized. She said it was miscommunication but I am fluent in Spanish and English....there was no miscommunication. My takeaway from tonight....If you are White there's no need for a reservation but if you have brown skin, you need a reservation. Two of the three waiters working were great, shorter guy and guy with black hair and glasses are great. Stay away from the Big guy. I live in Arizona and this is my third time here, to be fair this is the first time I was made to...
Read moreWe were here for our anniversary last year and based on that decided to come here for our 50th Golden Anniversary. We called months in advance and asked for the table in the corner in front of the windows and an anniversary desert. Neither request was honored. I looked at the kitchen the entire meal. The ambiance was ruined by a TV playing US football reruns. Despite our request to turn off the TV it was left on. Instead of fine dining we got a sports bar. Our anniversary cake never made it like the previous year. A Golden 50th Anniversary is a bigger deal than the wedding. Lots of people have weddings but few last 50 years. The service was less attentive than the previous year. The food was great. Highly disappointed, we will never eat here again as the fine dining here has lost appeal. The restaurant standards are not quite up to their fine dining...
Read moreWe came here with family tonight for the first time for a birthday celebration and we were not disappointed. From the moment we entered we were greeted with smiles and a warm welcome from staff. We were seated at a beautiful outdoor table overlooking the sea and the malecon and so the setting was beautiful. Erick was our waiter for the evening and we couldn't have asked for a better and more attentive waiter. He anticipated our needs, made great suggestions however was never hovering or intrusive. The food was incredible. Everything put in front of us was beautifully presented, cooked to perfection, and delicious. From the tapenade, Caesar salad, soup, entrees of fish, and the special molcajete it was the best we've had in Loreto. Al this was topped off with a wonderful cheesecake and tiramisu. Thank you chef and many thanks to the...
