Lesson learned. Mind you we were frequent guest to this establishment every time we were in town, and multiple times a trip. This particular time we were very excited to bring my folks here our first night back into town. This took place in February, not too busy of a night. Beverages took forever, food took forever and the quality just wasn't there. Granted places have off nights, but... my Mother witnessed the young lady in kitchen, scraping food off plates and whipping off with a towel. The plates, cups and cutlery never seen a touch of water or soap. She placed the whipped off dishes back in a stack and went bck to be kitchen. Nothing was said negatively because we are on vacation, we were happy to be in Loreto. ( I forgot the owner/main guys name) he knew we were not happy but again nothing was said. Asked for the bill, paid with my card and he said it didn't go through. "Are you sure?" Yes yes, well try it again. No didn't work. Ok, paid with my debit card and got the receipt to show proof just in case it showed up on my CC. Whelp it did, and I'm disputing it still. He has proof it went through. So lesson learned, pay with cash or ask for the cancelation/ declined receipt.
Not a fan to leave a negative review and hurt their livelihood but this needed to be brought...
Read moreOVERCHARGE + NO ALCOHOL IN MARGARITAS!! We ate here years ago and had a good experience. So when we had a group of friends in Loreto we thought we'd take them there. We walked in and sat down and were immediately asked how many salsas. Thinking this was included with the meal like so, so many places in Baja, I said 5 so they could be split among our 10 people. When it came time to pay for the bill, we were charge 135 pesos for EACH chip and salsa ($8.50USD -- More that I would pay even in the US!!!).
Further,
Two guests ordered margaritas that were served with NO ALCOHOL. One guest is very sensitive to alcohol ("light weight") and she complained that she didn't feel anything. We noticed the bartender (the same guy who also overcharged us for the chips and salsa) making drinks where he skipped the part about pouring tequila into the drinks.
So there's another 110 pesos x 2 ($7 USD - the same as or more than what I'd pay in the US!!!) for NO alcohol in the drink.
I don't leave reviews - ever. That's how much I feel we were ripped off. Will never visit here again and will do my best to make sure others don't either. Spend your pesos on...
Read moreSuper disappointing. Went for margaritas and ceviche. We were the only people in the place, due to it being only 4pm. The margaritas were super sweet and didn’t seem to contain alcohol. Just meh. The ceviche was basically fish, onions and cucumber in Clamato juice. Not very good at all. They served it with a couple saltines (which I don’t care for but not their fault).
We’ve had better ceviche and margaritas at 3 other places in and around baja over the last 6 weeks. The prices were more like American prices as well which was...
