My experience at Los Paradisus was phenomenal despite some of the reviews I read online. To be honest, I was slightly anxious based on the negative reviews, but I was happy with my stay at this resort and it was amazing. We booked our stay through Costco Travel. When I arrived, they immediately helped unload my luggage, we checked in, and they offered us a drink. We were later approached by a lady who offers excursions. A lot of people mentioned they felt overwhelmed by her offers, but I think the simple way to avoid her offers is just to decline and say "no thank you" if you already have excursions planned through a third party, which we did. Ultimately, it is her job to let tourists know about what they offer, and I respect that.
Experience:
They also offer a DJ by the pool during the daytime, and it gets pretty fun because it gave us the opportunity to meet other people and socialize while enjoying drinks by the pool. There is a little food truck that offers different dishes and a paleta cart with different flavors. I enjoyed them, especially given how hot it was every day; they were refreshing.
For entertainment, they had “Noche Mexicana.” This event was so amazing! They had performers, fireworks, live mariachi, and the food was so good. I am of Mexican heritage, and I am very picky when it comes to authentic Mexican food. Let me tell you, the food at this event made me remember the essence and hard work my mother would implement in her dishes to the point I had tears rolling down my eyes due to the memories of her delicious cooking. From the purple maíz tortillas they made in front of you to the mole and the tinga, I felt so amazed and proud to be Mexican. Thank you all for your hard work during “Noche Mexicana.” It was a pleasure to have been part of it.
For the experiences, my husband and I booked third-party excursions. After our adventures, we soaked in the pool. We also had a chance to visit their beach section. Los Cabos is known for having rough waves that can be dangerous. If you want calm waves, there are other beaches that offer calm waves with turquoise water, such as La Paz. There are also excursions that take you to those places. I don’t think it’s fair for people to complain about the beaches when there is no way the hotels can do anything about it.
Food/All-Inclusive:
We had breakfast at Capella. They have many selections of items including American breakfast, some Mexican dishes, a variety of juices and other drinks, and charcuterie foods. We also had breakfast at Malva. Personally, my favorite between the two was Malva because they have more traditional Mexican foods that I enjoyed and was able to explore. Ultimately, I am here in Mexico; why stick to American breakfast? I truly enjoyed the champurrado drink they have at the entrance. Shoutout to Marisol who makes the champurrado—it is top-notch in taste! Also, Guadalupe the hostess was sweet and welcoming every time we came into the restaurant!
We had dinner at the different restaurants they offered, such as Cielo, Tokimeku, and Capella. Cielo and Tokimeku were my favorites in taste. Capella had amazing desserts such as tiramisu cake that was so fluffy and creamy. Our favorite at Cielo was the Hidalgo barbacoa tacos. As a person from Hidalgo, they did a great job mimicking the taste of the barbacoa.
Overall:
The employees and housekeeping did a wonderful job keeping our room clean and organized. They were sweet and caring, and I am grateful for their hard work and hospitality. I truly enjoyed my stay and will definitely come back. As a hardworking bedside RN, I needed this small vacation for my mental health. Everything they offered was perfect for the price. If you want royal service, the Waldorf Astoria offers it at $1,000+ a night, but my husband and I were satisfied with our stay and the price we paid.
The only con during my stay was that the iron was not working, but they immediately replaced it with a working one. To us, that was a minor...
Read more*My partner &I stayed at Paradisus last week for 7 nights. We really needed a getaway to relax from our lives where we had experienced some recent tragedies. This was our 4th trip to Cabo, we previously stayed in Le Blanc, Esperanza & The Palmilla. Unfortunately, this Melia resort needs help. We’d rate this resort 3 stars. Food & room were average & service was ok as long as you didn’t have any problems. *Prior to our stay, we requested a quiet room on a high floor, away from elevators & housekeeping stations. At check in we confirmed w Patricia, front desk rep, that they’d received these requests. W/o asking, Patricia gave us a disabled hotel room even though we aren’t disabled but we accepted it thinking that it was going to be a quiet room. Boy, were we wrong. *Every night during our vacation, we were woken up in the middle of the night by loud bumps/scraping noises upstairs that sounded like furniture being moved. The hotel construction seemed to be poor since you could easily hear the guests upstairs walking around & closing the bathroom, balcony, and room doors. Every morning, we heard them wake up, stomp around, slam doors & leave their room around 6 am. Additionally, late at night, the acoustics in the hallways allowed you to hear guests’ voices & the slamming of other room doors. *By the morning of Wed, Nov. 20th (3 nights in), we couldn’t take the lack of sleep any longer so we decided to speak in person with Susana, the Front Desk Manager. We complained to her about the loud guests upstairs and we politely asked to be moved to another room since we weren’t able to sleep well. We had been informed by a few concierges that the resort was only at 40% capacity so we naturally assumed that she’d accommodate our request. However, instead of apologizing for the inconvenience and addressing our issue, Susana berated us multiple times for not informing her sooner about the loud noises above us. Additionally, instead of just moving us to another room, her only offer was to speak with the guests upstairs. My partner asked her what would be the next course of action if the upstairs guests were still loud at night after she had spoken with them. Would she move us if they weren’t quiet after her conversation with them? She would not commit to saying yes; she merely frowned and said “trust me”. When we asked to speak to her general manager, Susana stated that she was the manager & there was no one else above her. She asked us for our mobile number & advised that she would keep us informed. Even though we were frustrated & felt unheard, we didn’t have any other option but to trust her. Ultimately, as we feared, she did NOTHING to resolve this problem & she didn’t even follow up with us to see if we were still hearing noises. *Guess what? The guests above us were still loud & kept us awake. We were convinced that talking to Susana again was pointless. We chose to turn on the white noise at full volume from our iPhones which was ridiculous but we decided to make the most of our trip. During our last couple of days, Paradisus decided to start construction in the room next door to ours around 7:30 AM. Lots of banging & loud music, what a treat! *PROS:-Good service from some staff: Felix-bellman, Fidel-Cielo/Cappella, Gisela & Chef Daniel-Malva, Daniel-pool, Pablo-Agua Marina, Nidia-cafe. *CONS: -Noisy, noisy, noisy! -Pool was ice cold. -Carlos at the beach was only motivated by tips. We watched him only help guests with the Reserve wristband (brown) since apparently Reserve guests are more likely to tip him. Because I had a regular guest wristband (teal), he never offered to set up towels at the cabanas even though he wasn’t busy. His loss, if he had helped me set up my towels, I would have tipped him. I even tried greeting him with a friendly “Good morning Carlos” but he just looked at me &...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying at Paradisus Melia in Los Cabos, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with top-quality service that continued throughout my entire stay. The airport transfer was well co-ordinated and smooth.
The property itself is immaculate, with every corner meticulously clean and well-maintained. It's evident that the staff takes great pride in ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and comfort for their guests.
The room service was nothing short of exquisite. Whether it was a late-night snack or a morning coffee, every request was promptly attended to with attention to detail and presentation. The maid service did a very good job on room cleaning. They folded our clothes, came in and fixed bed twice a day and ensured our beverage center was always loaded with drinks and food.
The dining experience at Paradisus Melia was truly exceptional. With a variety of restaurants offering near fine dining-level cuisine, I was spoiled for choice. Each meal was a culinary delight, with fresh ingredients and expertly crafted dishes that tantalized the taste buds. Mexican restaurant Cielo was my #1 choice and Asian - Kokimeku as the other.
One of the highlights of my stay was the service at the beach cabana. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that I had everything I needed, from refreshing drinks to snacks, all while enjoying the stunning views of the ocean.
Finally, we had a desire to partake in a yoga session amidst the breathtaking canyon scenery. Unfortunately, the excursion wasn't scheduled for Sunday, and with our departure set for the following day, time was limited. However, the hotel went above and beyond to accommodate our request, arranging a special session just for us. This thoughtful gesture truly impressed us, as it's rare for hotels to make such arrangements, especially involving staff being called in on their day off.
Now some acknowledgement of folks who made our stay more memorable - I'd like to give a special mention to Ted, our exceptional concierge at the hotel. Throughout our stay, Ted went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic experience. He was incredibly responsive to our requests, even answering our texts promptly, whether it was his day off or late in the evening. Ted made sure our check-out process was seamless and hassle-free. In our extensive travels, we've encountered many concierge services, but Ted's dedication and attentiveness truly stood out as one of the best.
Additionally, I want to commend Carlos and Elena, who work at the beach area. They provided excellent care not only to us but to all the guests, ensuring everyone had a wonderful time. Their hospitality and attentiveness contributed significantly to our enjoyable stay.
I want to give a big shout-out to Zahian, our fantastic yoga instructor during our stay. The hotel organized a special yoga session in the canyon, and Zahian led the session with expertise and enthusiasm. We thoroughly enjoyed our time practicing yoga with her.
I also want to recognize Rosaura, our host at the Nespresso Coffee shop. Despite managing the coffee shop single-handedly, Rosaura always had a smile on his face and genuinely enjoyed his work. Whether serving guests their preferred coffee or ensuring the coffee bar was spotless, he approached his responsibilities with dedication and positivity. Rosaura's exceptional service added to the overall enjoyment of our stay.
Overall, my experience at Paradisus Melia in Los Cabos was nothing short of exceptional. From the impeccable service to the exquisite dining options and luxurious accommodations, it's a destination that I can't wait to...
