Alebrije is truly a magical place! We arrived after dark and the walk through the property was one beautiful experience after another- twinkly lit trees, stepping stone bridges, lanterns everywhere (gold, blue, red etc) and gorgeous tranquil teal pools flow around and under the paths as you find your way to the restaurant. The outdoor restaurant space continues with gorgeous dessert landscaping, beautiful lighting and stunning colorful art pieces. Staff quietly serve wine, describe the amazing menu options and make sure your water glass is full. If you're lucky, Angel will be your waiter and you'll get to experience his extensive knowledge and joy of the food and honest love of where he works. He has a lot to be proud of, as food was outstanding and so wonderful that our desire to return to Alebrije will likely steer us back to Cabo for our anniversary next year. The beef tenderloin stew was one of my favorite meals I've ever had, and my husband, who often misses out at many of the best restaurants because he is a vegetarian, was delighted with everything he ordered and noted that the eggplant parmesan was the best he's ever had. Angel made our tiramisu in front of us - the result was a light and airy and melted in your mouth. This is a one of a kind dessert experience - do not leave without trying it! The wine list was extensive and the sommenier visited our table twice to ensure we had excellent pours. Lastly, the guitarists added to the ambiance with lovely renditions of many classics, from the Beatles to Queen, Led Zepplelin and many others. We can't wait to come back! Thank you to everyone at Alebrije for this stunning anniversary experience (I won't spoil the surprise for those who...
Read moreAlebrije My family of four (including two pre-teens) was welcomed with exquisite service the moment we exited our transportation on the grounds of the Las Ventanas. Every person working greeted us with a smile and went above and beyond to ensure our visit was magical. Upon entering the restaurant, we were promptly seated at an outdoor table with stunning sunset views of the sea. We thought the setting would be perfect for a family photo, and one of our servers (we had multiple taking care of our table) rushed over and offered to take the pictures (he did a great job).
Everything about the dinner was fantastic - from discussing a food allergy, to explaining their deep mezcal selection, to accommodating our kids who didn’t quite like the offerings on the children’s menu (they brought over burgers from the poolside restaurant), was top notch. For our meal, we did a table side guac for everyone and my wife and I shared the colcajete (lobster, steak, sausage) and grilled cauliflower. It was a ton of food that we couldn’t finish, but we took the leftovers with us to eat the next day.
We’ve been to many Michelin starred restaurants around the world, and can honestly say that Alebrije belongs in that classification. Exquisite service, attention to detail and amazing food quality. Really enjoyed the meal and thought the ~$500usd spent was well worth the price.
Note- that price was broken down something like: 2x cocktails, 2x mocktails, table side guac, 2x burgers, colcajete entree, cauliflower entree, 16% VAT, 15% service charge/tip, additional tip for...
Read moreOne of the best traditional Mexican meals I have ever had. My wife and I went here for our anniversary dinner. We got the chef special, which was a massive amount of meat, with flour tortillas, and taco stuff. They gave us multiple local salsas to test with each taco. They had a special dessert for our anniversary celebration. Beautiful patio seating to watch the sunset go down. Felt very private and empty when we ate there,...
