Just got back from my week and a half vacation. This was supposed to be a very bittersweet stay for me for personal reasons, but ended up actually being sweeter than it was bitter. We had a couple hiccups along the way since Zayra (the representative assigned to us) never offered to set us up with a card you can give to their swim-up bar when we first came in so we would be able to charge our room for drinks. Finally, when I heard about this benefit from one of the other resort clients, I went in and asked for one. She took HALF AN HOUR to get this done, because she forgot about us entirely even though we were sitting on our vacation time and waiting for this. She never apologized, nor offered anything to make up for it, and gave us incredibly rude looks on the way out as if we were a bother instead of PAYING CLIENTS.
Other than that, we were offered free margaritas upon arrival, and immediately set up with everything else like excursions and shuttles/taxis by Alexis. He booked a snorkeling expedition for $69 each person, and we were told it would include kayaking and paddle-boarding. We spent half an hour of our time driving on a shuttle all the way out there, only to find out it only included snorkeling only with the specific one we booked. We apologized to the shuttle bus driver for the hotel's mistake and drove all the way back another half hour to speak with Alexis again. He MADE IT RIGHT AND WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND. He may be the only reason I'm rating this a 4 star and not a 3. He offered a big discount on a new similar expedition with all the things expected and applied the money we had paid to it, and even called around and was able to get a 50% off taxi ride discount since the shuttle buses had already left for it. He stayed on the phone making phone call after phone call until we left happy and satisfied, which is how it should be when you pay a a ton of money each year to be a member of something. LOVED LOVED LOVED HIM.
Shops and little stores are all within walking distance, as is a spa, and it's next door to one of the best Italian/Mexican restaurants (Mama Mia) I've EVER TRIED. You can also order from this restaurant to your room, which was awesome the night we got there since we were exhausted from traveling. Rooms are cleaned mid-through your stay incredibly well. Every employee you pass will always greet you and smile. The grounds are METICULOUSLY kept clean, which is one of the first things I noticed. It's wonderfully decorated. The rooms are beyond spacious, and had a beautiful view right on the beach. What sucks about Worldmark is I don't believe any of their hotels are all-inclusive with food/drinks, but this was quickly forgotten.
We went grocery shopping right next door at this little market and bought whatever we needed for snacks/breakfasts. For lunch time or dinner, we would go out. Anytime we ran out of laundry soap, coffee, etc. they deliver more within the hour. Their swim-up bar happy hour is from 12-5 daily, and I would definitely recommend them. The bartender Andres is gorgeous, and makes the best drinks I've ever had. They also play the coolest music.
I'm coming back to Cabo someday, and I can't wait. I would book this same resort, and am looking forward to updating my review to a 5 star if I get a better initial representative.Thank you guys for yet another wonderful and (mostly) hassle-free...
Read moreBeautiful resort facilities and helpful staff. This controlled access facility has security at the main entrance. It's a safe and family friendly destination. It has many amenities including: Mama Mia restaurant, sports bar, swim up bar, exercise facilities, pool table, foosball, table tennis, tennis court, corn hole shuffle board, beach seating, poolside seating, BBQs, cabanas, multiple hot tubs, pool with volleyball, shallow lounging area, kiddie pool, bridges, spa facilities, a business center and onsite mini-mart grocery store. There is nightly entertainment ranging from live bands to a Mexican cultural performance!
There are breathtaking beach views from most rooms! Although it's clearly posted, It's worth mentioning that the heavy crashing waves and a sever undertow on this section of beach is under a constant "red flag" and is NOT recommend for swimming. A few miles down the road are several swimming beach options. (In my opinion, this is a blessing in disguise. The beach is far less crowded than many others and makes for a more relaxing atmosphere and a lesser amount of pushy and annoying local vendors selling there trinkets from the beach.) The beach has ample room to lay out and sunbathe, take a walk, watch the sting rays jumping out of the water, horseback ride, enjoy the stunning veiw, or even lay out under the stars at night with the sound of crashing waves!
There are additional dining options near by, a large grocery store and Starbucks. Coral Baja is centrally located with easy access to Uber and the local bus transit system. There is a Costco about 15 miles toward Cabo San Lucas. It's the most cost effective place for bottled water, beer, wine and liquor. It also provides all the bulk purchasing options your accustomed to from your local US Costco. I did find it a little inconvenient without having my own rental car. The local grocery store has all of the same stuff (in smaller quantities) and it's less than a mile away!
Located in San Jose Del Cabo (classier and more laid back than "party centeral" Cabo San Lucas). For $3 you can catch a 20 min bus ride to Cabo San Lucas for a day trip, night life or excursions. Safety Tip- Only ride the purple buses. They are the official mass transit option and are the cleanest and most road worthy option. Other buses will stop and you could end up on a super sketchy and wild ride. Although it is posted, several local drivers say "there is NO speed limit", which means crossing the road can be VERY dangerous. Most local excursions offer, included, pick-up and drop-off from Worldmark Coral Baja.
There is a Budget car rental desk at the resort. A basic economy car rental of the day is $55. Unlike the misleading prices you'll find online, this price includes all taxes and insurance charges. I was going to rent a car but found local Uber and bus options were more economical for the places we decided to go.
I hope you enjoy your next visit as...
Read moreBeen coming here for about 20 years since becoming a member of Worldmark. Was here when building 3 was in progress. Love the relaxed environment, location and Friendly staff who make you feel welcomed back when we return. New Non-Smoking policy here and throughout the area now from what we've been told. The grounds are always kept clean and maintained well..so rhe maintenance fees are being put to good use across the board. No complaints...Hey, you're in Mexico and on Holidays..So all is good. Still here...and adjusting to the new No Smoking policies recently introduced...even when outdoors and at beach side. A burning fireplace is ok, but smoking isn't...?!?. It would be nice if the assigned ashtrays were cleaned out daily. Just saying....! . Update... 14Feb-06Mar2023 . Back at Coral Baja and a bit surprised over some changes since Post Covid and protocols are no longer..No masking, etc. When we got to our unit we saw no place mats on the dinning room table..when I inquired about it, was told they not in use because of Covid..?!? Don't get that. Ok, no big deal. We can use paper towels...I just don't get the logic of it. When we asked for our 1 free House Cleaning credit (per stay), we were told once again that it's no longer offered because of Covid. Don't quite get that either. The units are cleaned when they are vacated for the next guests, but not for existing guests/members? We hear numerous owners complaining about similar issues and other complaints not resolved and wondering what are our maintenance fees being used for.?.. Tho it's nice to be back...it's not as great as it used to be. No reason to use Covid as an excuse for omitting some services that were standard practices before. Just saying..... Other than that, the staff is great...Friendly, respectful and pleasant...as they go about their duties. A comfortable place to be. So just be aware of some changes so youre not surpprised...like we and many other...
