Cancun Palapas Suites Boutique Hotel — Hotel in Cancún

THE WORST! I booked this place on the morning of Saturday March 20th 2021(36 hours before arriving!) and the first thing that I did after booking it, is been to communicate to the property my arrival time: I said that my flight would arrive at the airport at 23:20 on Sunday March 21st and that so I would arrive at Balam between 00:00 and 01:00. I arrived there at 00:50, I ringed the bell...waited...ringed again the bell...waited...for one hour, but nobody came to open. So I knocked again and finally after about 1 hour (around 1:40am) a lady came but she didn't even open the door: she just said from the other side of the door that I was 'rude' to knock so hard(but if I didn't ring/knock for so long she wouldn't even come to the door...) and that my arrival time was too late, so SHE DIDN'T LET ME STAY THERE(I had to go to search for another place at 1.50am!), but THEN if my arrival time was too late why she didn't cancel my booking right away?? Why she let me arrive there if she knew my arrival time ?? TERRIBILE! After letting me wait for 1 hour outside in the middle of the night(while she knew my arrival time) seemed that for her I was in the wrong, while for her was "all normal": she has a total lack of respect for people and for clients in this case.

P.S. 2: the PHONE number that she left on Booking app/website DOESN'T EXIST: trying to call to that phone number you will just hear a prerecorded voice saying "this number is not in service". I also tried to call to the number that is on Google Maps but nobody picked...

Upon getting to the hotel, I was impressed at how much larger the rooms, the hallways, and everything else! My friends and I were able to rent 3 rooms during our 3 day stay in Cancun. It's very close to the areas we wanted to visit. The location is perfect for those who want to hang out with the locals and feel the "cancun" vibe at the same time. A block away was the plaza where local food was available every night. As for the hotel: The rooms were clean, the maids were prompt with their service. We received new towels and our beds were made each day we were out. The hotel has its own lunch/dinner area for you to have a sit down and get to know other guests. The pool are was on the second floor, and it made it a great view as we were staying on the 3rd floor! The exciting part was that we can book rooms right by each other and the balcony linked our rooms, so all we needed to do was step out 3 feet and we would be in each others room! (This was something not alot of other hotels I've been to have had).

AMAZING EXPERIENCE! Would highly recommend over...

Este lugar es de los peores que he visitado en todos los viajes que he hecho. Ni siquiera en hostels he experimentado lo que vi acá.||Primero que nada, te dan una (1) toalla y un (1) rollo de papel higiénico y no lo reponen. Si querés más te lo cobran. Esto es independientemente de cuántos días te quedes. Si bien la habitación tiene cocina, no hay esponja ni detergente para lavar. Si los querés te los venden.||Hay dos hornallas, pero se puede usar una sola a la vez.||No hay enchufes en toda la habitación, solamente uno en la cocina.||Las baterías del control del aire acondicionado y control remoto estaban agotadas y hasta mordidas (algún huésped anteriormente intentó hacerlas funcionar). Tuvimos que pedir nuevas.||Las camas son un infierno. El colchón es tan blando y fino que se te clavan las maderas en la espalda. Al reclamar nos sugirieron que pongamos un colchón arriba del otro, en la foto van a ver el resultado de eso. Dormimos sentados.||Al día siguiente luego de seguir reclamando nos dieron un colchón de cama pequeña que era un poco mejor, y al rato vino la encargada para que se lo devuelva. Mi esposo estaba acostado enfermo y ella se metió sin permiso a querer sacar el colchón, una actitud desagradable y maleducada. Le tuve que pedir que se retire porque yo estaba llamando al médico para que vengan a verlo y me interrumpió la llamada. Finalmente nos dejaron usarlo (porque pensó que teníamos Covid). Dormimos dos personas en un colchón para una persona.||La mesita tenía dos patas rotas, así que es imposible comer ahí.||La puerta del balcón NO CIERRA, por lo que se puede entrar sin problema (el balcón es compartido con otra habitación). La caja fuerte se puede llevar sin problema en vez de estar empotrada.||Cuando llueve se mojan las instalaciones y es resbaloso.||El termotanque de agua es tan pequeño que al ducharte solo hay 2 o 3 minutos de agua caliente. Por este motivo sólo se puede bañar una persona y luego hay que esperar un largo rato. Por otro lado, tanto el shampoo como el jabón, ponen una cantidad tan mínima que no alcanza. Tuvimos que comprar.||El techo del baño tiene un agujero de humedad que chorrea agua.||La puerta de entrada tiene la cerradura floja.||Todas las noches a la madrugada se escuchaban golpes fuertes en la puerta (que es metálica), probablemente de alguien que quería hacer check in y no lo atendían. De hecho ellos no están 24 hs en la recepción.||El agua de la piscina es más opaca que el agua del mar así que no la usamos.||En general, el lugar es de muy mala calidad y se nota que quieren ahorrar hasta el último centavo, perjudicando al huésped. Por supuesto que al inicio reclamamos y al no obtener respuesta positiva, simplemente esperamos al día de check out y nos fuimos a otro hotel.||Reclamé en booking, donde me informaron que el hotel se negó a cancelar mi estadía sin penalidad económica.||No se dejen engañar por el precio ni por las fotos.||Lo único bueno del lugar: Leti, la señora de limpieza. Siempre fue atenta, colaboradora...
