Picaña & Grill — Restaurant in Cancún

Upon arrival to this very small and down to earth friendly business. Met a very young woman with 2her 2 young children one she carried on her in a cloth sack and her other assuming 3 year old, not only this but also in right hand home made braided wrist bracelets. And in her left hand embossed design cancun bags Chino and I felt sorry felt empathy for this hard working lady and purchased two tiny wallet purses from her. All smiles across her face yet I felt deep in a mother of 2 on a late night on the side streets hoping for just one sale that can feed her children, how can you NOT show mercy to the innocent. Walking up to the steps of this small quaint Picaña and grill to the right an open glass view of a young short man whose name is Leonardo breaking sweat in his Chef uniform inhaling the smoked rotating BBQ fire flamed grill as he sharpens his knife for the slicing down method to grilled steak. Very serious in his profession. To the left cutomers sitting outside enjoying their dinner while listening to guitar live play Hotle California. And as we took a table seat salsas and hot, very hot hot choices of sauces and one side pico de gallo. Chips, very tasty home made. Your meats are served on a wooden chop board along with a special melted cheese and a grilled onions along with guacamole. Very good eats :) Enjoyed the hospitality of the waitress, busy lady. All employees team work. Smiles as well. Dressed code jeans and shirt. But me it's modest out and about. FYI slicing your meats...

I would not recommend this restaurant. This is the last night of 2 weeks in the Yucatán and not a highlight. The place was quiet when we arrived and we were instantly brought some sauces and a salsa that looked like it had been passed around a few tables previously, but we knew it had some good reviews so we stuck with our decision to eat here. We ordered the mixed grill for 2 people and it arrived surprisingly quickly. The waitress brought us the wrong order first and was totally confused when we said we hadn’t ordered the tacos that she placed down. The food was ok tasting, with some cheesy mashed potatoes accompanying a lot of meat. Some pieces were better than others but none were great for me. Beyond the lack of quality in the food, our experience was tainted by the constant stream of young children trying to sell us things, and the worst was a girl asking for meat and then touching our food several times?! Worst restaurant in Cancun. Zero customer service. Their cheap drinks reflect their sub average offering. (I Did not get her name) Slim-ish lady, middle aged with glasses, skinny jeans and dark hair in a high bun is not fit for waitressing.

I witnessed her write my order down yet almost 1 hour later, the food had not arrived. When we queried it, we were told by the host that it was not put through. No apology from the original waitress. She acted as if we never ordered. Disgusting behaviour.

The live musician was poor and the speaker stopped working mid song causing her to finish early.

There are many tacorias downtown, this one is a no go! Don’t be fooled- especially tourists.

Pacifico across the road is 1 million times better. Fish is better for your heath anyway. Or la parrilla a few meters away, and has amazing customer service.

I wish I never stepped foot in Picaña & grill.

If you value your hard earned money, do not spend it in Picaña & grill.
