We stayed here during renovations and wish we were told before we booked. The elevators weren't always working (we were on the 5th floor), drills, hammers, dragging furniture on the ground above us, and conjoined room door where you could hear the guests talking (walls/doors were very thin). The staff were nothing short of hospitable in all parts of the hotel, except the doorman upon arrival. He opened the shuttle door but we had to haul our own luggage up the stairs when we had a late arrival (7pm). On our 3rd day we were upgraded due to a few issues with our room, plug-ins didn't work, water not draining in shower, hot water wasn't working when we arrived, and very noisy with the conjoined room door (baby crying all day/night). We felt there was no privacy, we could hear neighbour's talking, so they must be able to hear us as well. A huge thank you to Noemi, as the upgraded room changed our stay completely. We were able to use the amenities of hotel conjoined, which was a lot larger with families with children. They had a shuttle to go back and forth to the 3rd hotel, but we mostly stayed at ours. Gym was decent, air-conditioned, washrooms/shower, cardio equipment, free-weights and machines. Some older, but enough to get a workout in. Jewelry shop, excursions sold at the resort. We bought some at the resort and off the resort. Same price. Room service was also very good, you pay $5 for using it each time. It just takes a long time, but the food was nicely wrapped and displayed neatly. Food wasn't always to our taste at buffet, a lot of heavier dishes in the morning, pastas, cream sauce with meat. We wished there were hashbrowns, bacon, and scrambled eggs (we are Canadian) for breakfast. A lot of spanish dinner foods for breakfast. Pastries were underwhelming, chocolate wasn't rich (we hoped since we were in Mexico, there would be MX chocolate). Desserts across the chain were similar, beautifully plated, but lacked taste. The best food was at the reservation restaurants, Marco Polo, Rosemanthius, etc. The appetizers/main courses were very good, and the overall meal was superb. We stayed here due to the food reviews by others. Service in all areas of the hotel was very good. Not one employee looked inconvenienced to help you, like other places we had stayed. A lot of others did not tip, but we always tipped the staff for their service Breakfast staff are great, there is an omelet station, fresh pancake and waffle station, the ladies were awesome, bartenders were also very attentive. Evening entertainment exceeded expectations. We recognized one of the guys from Latin night who was an acrobat from Coco Bongo the previous night. Silent Disco was awesome too! We are in our 40s, and the djs were better than other resorts. And we liked that they made it inside, outside was really windy The gift shop was very expensive, 690 pesos for a Gatorade and min $10USD to use their machine. We bussed downtown for supplies to save money, although we spent money at the gift shop daily when we needed things immediately. Sunscreen was just under 3000 pesos! The hotel is very clean. We have stayed at many places and noticed this hotel's standards are very good. Especially washrooms. This hotel is quieter than the other two hotels, which we enjoyed as we don't have kids. Perhaps more recent music at the poolside, as the music was often oldies: 1980s/90s. We enjoyed our stay and would love to return when renos are done, the easels in the lobby displayed a very modern, almost Moroccan style We paid a lot for our vacation, and we appreciate the service provided to us. I highly recommend this place if you want a quiet, yet fun stay and don't like to party, we headed downtown for that! Thank you for an enjoyable stay.

This trip was very important to us because my mom's health issues have prevented her from traveling outside of the country for almost 2 decades. I was debating between giving this resort a 3 or a 4 due to one bad experience we had. My mother is immunocompromised and the way food is handled (in regards to sanitation as well as how it's stored) is extremely important. We got room service one night and half the trip was my mom recovering from getting sick and from the food. Now, to be clear this was ONLY when we had room service but the impact lasted a day and a half (which was just about half the trip). It was extremely disappointing. Not sure if it was the way the room service food was stored or the people handling the food but it put a damper on the vacation. Our experience in the restaurants was a complete 180. The food and service were FANTASTIC! The first night we went to the buffet for dinner. FYI this is a dress code of casual so no bathing suits without bottoms/shorts. ALFREDO (pictured) gave us such wonderful service. He made sure were taken care of and had everything we needed. For dinner the following night we went to the restaurant Marco Polo and ANDRE (pictured) was phenomenal! My mother is allergic to honey and we had the salmon that comes with a honey sauce. Not only did he make sure there was no honey, he had the chef put a different sweet sauce that worked perfectly with the meal. That same night we did karaoke. NINA (pictured) was so sweet! There were some technical difficulties when I went up to sing and even though the queue for singers was closed, she allowed me to sing another song to ensure I had a wonderful experience during that event. Another night we went to the Asian restaurant. They have sushi in the middle and then you order from the menu. DANI (pictured) was fantastic! We don't eat meat but wanted the spring rolls. Not only did he inform us the spring rolls were cooked in the same oil as the meat was, he asked the chef to get new oil so we would be able to have the rolls. We really appreciated that. For lunch we went to the buffet and ARRIAGA (pictured) took very good care of us. He was extremely attentive and made sure we had everything we needed and checked on us frequently. Last but most definitely not least, OSWALDO (pictured) made such an impact on us. He was our waiter for lunch in the other restaurant but each and every time we were at the buffet for breakfast or lunch he would check on us EVEN WE WERE WEREN'T IN HIS SECTION. I loved how he remembered us and made sure our experience was amazing. He was extremely friendly, ANTICIPATED our needs and fulfilled each one. He needs to be a supervisor or have some servers under his guidance. I mean top tier service! Everyone at the hotel was great but these are the people who REALLY stood out to us and made our experience wonderful. Thank you Oswaldo, Arriaga, Daniel, Nina, Andre and Alfredo for making the trip for my mother and I one to remember. We are so grateful for you all.

Don’t go to the “presentation”, unless you’d like to buy the club membership. We weren’t told that the presentation was about getting the membership, we were told that we would get a “free” excursion to Tulum or the cenote if we went, but we would have to spend $4 US dollars on the tax fee at the ticket booth. We were told the “presentation” would take 90 minutes, but it took 3 hours. Even after we said no, they brought another lady to try and convince us and lower the price but we still said no, and then when we finally thought we were getting out, one of the developer reps lowered the fee to $200. We still said no and were finally able to go back to our hotel. The “free” trip to Tulum was not worth it. The concierge assured us that we would do some shopping and tequila tasting and then go to Tulum. We were taken to a shop with only factory made jewelry that was “made in store”. They had two workers in a class office at the front pretending to work on jewelry, but both of them had their phones on underneath their desks and were watching videos. We were made to spend 40 minutes in this store, when the employees noticed that we weren’t interested in buying anything, they just got us to wander around the store. Then we were told to walk next door to the tequila tasting, I don’t even drink alcohol but they had a bit of arts and crafts to look at and buy. We wasted another 30 minutes there and then our driver was late to take us to Tulum. The driver was constantly speeding and swerving through the traffic, he hard stopped because people in front of him were driving the speed limit. When he dropped us off at Tulum, he didn’t have the tickets and told us we would have to wait 20 minutes for them. We were swarmed by guides when we left the van and they tried talking us into hiring them so we didn’t have to wait in the lines, which we didn’t do. We waited in the lines for over an hour, when we got to the till, they said we needed pesos, not USD. We ate at one of the restaurants until the van picked us up again and brought us back to the hotel. 7 hours wasted on the excursion and 3 hours wasted at the presentation. The room was nice, but the construction of the resort next to us was an eye and ear sore. Our own resort was doing work on one of the suites above us and our balcony kept getting dirty. The concierge staff at the front have no attention to detail, all they want is to try and get you to buy the timeshare which they trick you by saying that it’s a “presentation” about the Solaris hotels since it is their 30th anniversary. We had two concierge staff ( including the one who welcomed us to the hotel and we signed to go to the presentation ) that offered us the presentation after we had already gone to it. The food in the main buffet is better than the restaurants. The cleaning staff were great, and so is the entertainment crew. The beach is nice, the ocean is a bit rough so you can only swim in it if you’re experienced.

There are so many reviews but I am giving you the only one you will need. I just stayed here for 10 days, nervous because of the bad reviews. So, yes there are some things that can be improved on but nothing that would affect your day to day. Things like, greeting us upon arrival with a drink like most other resorts. As stated in some reviews, the rooms could be upgraded but they are literally fine. There wasn't anything broken or falling apart. Just aged a bit. The beds were hard as a rock & the pillows were even harder!! These things are quite honestly my only complaints & I wouldn't even call them that. Service: IMPECCABLE!!!!! Every single staff member was absolutely amazing!!! Went above & beyond for anything & everything!!!! Angel and Mauricio at the lobby/lounge bar were our favorites!!!! Restaurants & pool service was outstanding as well. They really work hard to please. Just incredible service from beginning to end! Food: There are A LOT of complaints in these reviews about the food. Ignore them. The food was great & always fresh. No risk of food poisoning for sure! The buffet had a different nationality every night. Yes, there were a lot of the same foods each night (rice, potatoes, chicken) but a lot of different as well. A lot of variety for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There's a "freshly cooked" grill where they make it in front of you. Tacos, fajitas, fresh fish and shrimp, burgers. Omelettes in the morning. The poolside "restaurants" served burgers (chicken & beef) with all the fixings available, fries, ribs, tortilla chips & guac, fresh fruit and veggies. There's a pizza setup with fresh, made on the spot pizzas & calzones. That was a HUGE hit!! SOOOOOO freaking good!!! We ate there multiple times a day!!! There are other restaurants on site that need reservations. You require the app to make the reservations ("Hoteles Solaris" in the app store). Very easy to make the reservations but suggest doing it the day you arrive as they book quickly. Excellent food. The Japanese/Thai restaurant was phenomenal. The alcohol is anything you'd buy at home (Smirnoff, Bacardi kinda stuff) not knock off stuff people are suggesting in their reviews. Rooms: Like mentioned, a little dated in terms of the old brown wood stuff but we didn't care. Views were great. We had the lagoon view room which came with the typical package. It was a gorgeous view (I will add pics of I can). It was all water and the most beautiful golf course I've seen in a long time directly across the street! I loved our view!! Ocean view rooms also come with a view of the pool and main area which is also amazing. But with that will come the noise of the pool area. It was very loud at times so if you have small children that perhaps nap during the day...maybe not so much. Maybe go lagoon view. Wifi was fantastic!! Pools: Very clean. One side was the "party" side where they played the music loudly, foam events (which were super cool), games & activities. This is separated with a little bridge to the other side of the pool where we could hear the music but definitely more chill. Lots of chairs & umbrellas. We never had a problem finding chairs once. There of course are always those super annoying people that save the chairs with umbrellas & disappear for the day without using them. Super annoying but whatever. Then there is an adult pool on the other side of a small building. Mostly 50-60+ aged people. That's where the hot tub was as well but was closed the entire time we were there. Didn't look that great anyway. Beach: PHENOMENAL!!!! SO BEAUTIFUL!!!! Tons of chairs!! Beautiful sand. BEAUTIFUL water!!!! Lifeguards on site. Birds were annoying at times but just don't leave your food. They WILL swoop in and steal it. The construction next door was an eye sore but not didn't ruin anything & barely noticed honestly. "Dislikes": The resort is very small so don't expect huge party scene. Main road (on lagoon side) loud thru night at times. Motorcycles raising often. All in all, I would recommend if you're looking for a smaller more...

A lot of others did not tip, but we always tipped the staff for their service

Breakfast staff are great, there is an omelet station, fresh pancake and waffle station, the ladies were awesome, bartenders were also very attentive. Evening entertainment exceeded expectations. We recognized one of the guys from Latin night who was an acrobat from Coco Bongo the previous night. Silent Disco was awesome too! We are in our 40s, and the djs were better than other resorts. And we liked that they made it inside, outside was really windy

The gift shop was very expensive, 690 pesos for a Gatorade and min $10USD to use their machine.

We enjoyed our stay and would love to return when renos are done, the easels in the lobby displayed a very modern, almost Moroccan style

We paid a lot for our vacation, and we appreciate the service provided to us. I highly recommend this place if you want a quiet, yet fun stay and don't like to party, we headed downtown for that!

Thank you for an...

Bullet points to save time. Shuttle sits in the roundabout directly in front of the lobby doors all day and night but is somehow unavailable for guests to use for local transport (restaurant, mall) and will not be sent to you at the airport without 3 days notice - The food here is edible, sometimes. I have been served a raw steak twice (not rare, literally raw, untouched by heat), and the buffet has items which will confound you when compared with the label (see photos of the refried beans and "egg whites" for reference). Only the personal pizzas by the pool were good. ⁃ The servers, buffet attendants, and entertainment staff were all very nice and helpful, unfortunately the same cannot be said about the front desk. All of the males working on front desk staff were dismissive and seemed bothered by any request or question. For example, you can't play pool, ping pong, or foosball without offering your ID to receive either the ping pong ball or the billard set up. On a horrible weather occassion like ours, these are the only things to do. We played one morning at 8am waiting for a tour, and then the next day were told the billiards items aren't available until 530. When I mentioned we played the day before in the morning, I was offered a recommendation to go outside to the poolside towel stand to ask for the items myself. 1st, why are billiards items at the pool side when both tables are in the lobby? 2nd, if a guest is asking surely there is a way to request them by phone. I am not a stuck up person, I'd walk to get them if not for the 30mph winds and sideways rain. One more example, another occasion we found both attendants (the same two males as the billiard issue) were busy with a line roughly 6-7 groups long. As these young men were never in a hurry to help or even friendly, it took forever to move the line. Several other staff peeked out from the back but chose to ignore the guests waiting 2 of our 5 nights were sleepless thanks to the noise level. I would be willing to bet the hallway has 0 sound proofing as any words spoken or in our case screamed would echo up and down loudly, as if the noise was from your bedside, so from about 11-1230, once activities ended and guests returned to their rooms, it was a never ending cacophony while guests made their way to bed. I only called to report noise around 130 am, two separate nights, when the same group of guests were singing and blasting music from a speaker on the terrace. It took 40 minutes the first night and over an hour the second to get a manager to leave the lobby or wherever and walk directly out to the terrace. Maybe a total of 50 steps. ⁃ Lastly, the pool areas are not in good shape and the beach is not safe. Quick example, in a hot tub made to fit 30 ppl (if I remember the capacity sign correctly), only 3 of the bubbles/jets worked the entire 5 days. One day, the water wasn't even warm TLDR: This resort is not a resort, but in my opinion a hotel striving to charge more but provide less The policies in place are not geared towards creating an easy or relaxing environment for guests. There are many things listed as activities that are not actually offered at the resort but instead require you to leave to find them elsewhere (kayaks, paddle boats, and more), and dont expect the shuttle to take you! You'll need a taxi for 300 pesos to take you 5 or maybe 10 min up the road. This was our first time visiting Cancun and an "all-inclusice resort" and I regret very much selecting this for our stay (even tried to leave after our 2nd night to find an actual all inclusive resort). My advice is to choose this...
