Los Gallos is one of the popular specialty dining restaurants at Crown Paradise, focused on traditional Mexican food. We were intrigued by this and impressed by the rooster-themed interior decor.
Among the positives were Xcatic Chili stuffed with ground beef & pork, and Taco Tasting trays served with guacamole. We made sure to order some extra tacos although portions were quite good. Poblano Pepper Cream Soup was neatly poured at the table. However the rest of the menu didn’t stand out to us among the Enchiladas or Mexican Dessert Tasting. They did have Margaritas and wine on hand to pair.
The service here was catered to a nearby table of preferred customers who ordered a wine bottle. Minimal attention was paid to the rest of our tables without even lighting the dining candle. It was difficult to convince our server to provide an extra portion of tacos despite others being able to...
Read moreTrying to get a reservation in a hotel you spend over 4k at should not be so hard when it is all inclusive. We had to speak to a manager to get reservation. The phone number they give you to call to make the reservations no one answers. The save the spots for time share members. Half the restaurants are empty and no wonder with the taste of food. The staff told us since covid-19 they had down graded all the ingredients, that it use to be good and they got compliments and they dont any more. Plus the staff are paid $10 a day. The resort is pocketing all the money and putting nothing back into the place. The food has no flavor, made with fake cheese not real milk, my kids school lunches in California taste better. The buffet is way worse! Pictures look good but...
Read moreWhoever said dog food wasn’t far off. Hands down the worst Mexican food we’ve ever had.
Chips and salsa: Same generic stuff from the buffet/snack bar.
Poblano pepper cream soup: Proper spicy and easily my favorite thing here.
Tortilla soup: Wack.
Traditional enchilada: The worst enchilada we’ve ever had in our lives. Seriously, what the hell was this? Absolute garbage.
Grilled mahi mahi: Surprisingly decent. If you have to eat here, I’d recommend this.
Mexican dessert tasting: A churro and some other forgettable, wack stuff.
Cheesecake: Same low-quality stuff from the buffet.
Ice cream: Also straight from the buffet.
Overall, we were incredibly disappointed....
