Food here is good, but a bit over-priced. It's located near Congo Bongo. In what appears to be a shopping center. It's an older establishment that serves mexican food, alcoholic beverages, and much more.
So, my spouse and I went here for our first meal since arriving here in Cancun. A nice older gentleman served us. We ordered fish with vegetables $310 pesos, steak & lobster with vegetables and potatoes $909 pesos and a lemonade and mint margarita $77 pesos. We paid approximately $66 USD.
A beautiful young lady was seated to the right of us at a counter, but then out of no where she approaches us with a camara offering to take our photo.
Our server was nice and very hospitable, but pushy. His service was good, but he failed to bring steak sauce with my meal. I had thought maybe they didn't serve it, and that I had to use the juices already on my plate. It came later but after I had to ask for it. Also, when it came time to pay the bill, without consent, he added a tip amount that he wanted. In addition, he stood over us as we counted our money assuming as if we didn't know how; where I had to shoosh him away. Initially, he assumed we were paying by credit card so he brought a credit card machine. Almost wanting to push us to pay by credit card, because he sat down at our table while presenting the card machine to us, while at the same time asking if we were paying by cash. Hmmm! What was that about? It could have been nothing, but made us feel like he was trying to get over on us.
All in all, I can't say I was overwhelmed by my first meal in Cancun. It was good but it did'nt wow me! Not wanting my review to sound negative, but just honest based on our experience. So to say that, I hope for others to visit and try for themselves. Will we frequent or return? I say,...
Read moreAwful experience. Before entering this place we asked their promoter if we can pay with card, and he said there is no problem. I want to highlight that it was the only reason we decided to visit this place. However, when we were finishing our food , the waiter said it’s not possible to pay with card and we should go out and look for atm. So we here’re forced to waste our time wondering around and looking for atm, paying commission for withdrawal and facing all the possible inconveniences, even we did ask before about card payments. Beautiful, isn’t it?
It was very noisy in the restaurant: kitchen sounds, loud music, also a random man playing guitar added even more sounds to this cacophony and ofc was asking for money. I should mention that our waiter completely forgot about one dish and ofc didn’t care to inform us that we can’t pay with card, but 20% payment for service was included to the bill. And the icing on the cake - when we were leaving, the waiter said that we have to leave more...
Read moreThe food & service was excellent and at the same time a totaaaaaaal Riiiiiiip off. The restaurant owner goes by the name of Juanito. I didn't bother to look at the menu because he said that 5 pieces of Lobster & side orders were $50. I had one or 2 regular size micheladas & my lady a nice Nexican drink. In the process I told him that we were traveling on a tight budget and it seemed to me that he understood what I said. He put a good show slamming 2 or three small shots of soft tequila on the table & handed to us. The experience was fine, but after I asked him for the check to pay, I was in shock. I expected to pay around 100bucks at the most. It's pretty much what I would have paid in Rosarito Baja California. The tab was $$$$$$$$262.......$262. $$$$$$$$$$262. I think of it as a total Rip off. This is absolutely no kindness to someone who gave thim heads up about us being on a tight budget. Thank you very much & always be on...
