EDIT TO ADD: It’s very obvious a lot of the 5 star reviews are fake due to the number of profiles that have given a five star review in the past few days, most of which only have 1 or 2 reviews on their accounts (and some of whom talk about facilities that don’t even exist in this hostel).
It’s very frustrating as a traveler to constantly come across hostels boosting their rating with fake reviews so I am charging my 3 star rating to 1 star (not that it makes a difference to the overall rating which this hostel probably paid for. Close to the ADO station and friendly staff. The beds and pillows are comfortable and though the kitchen is small, they have a microwave and mini toaster oven (I didn’t use them during my stay so I can’t say if they work well).
The AC in the rooms at night works well and there’s a fan to use during the day so the room didn’t get too warm.
Downsides are that when paying at the property it seemed to be a little more expensive than what booking.com had said. It might be best to pay before arrival via the site if possible.
The showers also had no hot water left when I showered and the water pressure was really poor. Theres also no ventilation so the bathroom gets damp, which then makes the room feel damp.
The beds have no privacy curtains so when people walk around the dorm at 1am with their phone flashlights on, it wakes...
Read moreIt was a truly nightmarish experience. The hostel's logo is so tiny that it's impossible to see it from the car, so it took my taxi driver an hour to find it. He asked a bunch of local residents about this hostel and nobody heard of it. I called several times and sent messages asking for help bit nobody from the hostel responded. When I finally got there, I was all terrified and stressed because the taxi driver almost lost his patience not being able to find this place and almost asked me to finally leave the car. It was 11pm and I'm a solo female traveler. I told the receptionist what happened and asked her why she wouldn't answer the phone but her English was really poor so she asked her friend to translate. Before she did that, however, she called her manager, who as I was told, also doesn't speak English and reported the situation completely wrong. I speak Italian so I understand some Spanish and I could hear how she twisted the situation so as to cover up her mistake of not being contactable as a receptionist. The manager denied my checkin- in despite the fact that I pre-paid for the reservation thereby leavingme stranded in the street at 11pm. It is more than clear that the owners of this establishment don't care about their guest's safety or well-being. I strongly advise against staying at this hostel. There are plenty of other hostels in...
Read moreIt’s labeled as a “bed and breakfast” but they only served coffee and tea in the morning. Not a big deal for us but would have been if we were counting on it. The room is very small but served its purpose fine. Not a lot of sound barrier so people up later in the evening and earlier in the morning talking were easy to hear. But people were overall respectful. The “private bathroom” wasn’t truly private. Shared with one other room. Wasn’t a big deal for us but I think that’s because the other room wasn’t occupied. It could have been a problem if we needed to shower quickly in the morning to get somewhere at a specific time, but we didn’t. You did have to leave your room and use a key to get into the bathroom. We also had to pay extra for 2 additional pillows (4 total) and for a blanket (our bed only had a sheet on it). It wasn’t a big fee, but I feel that having a blanket on a bed is pretty standard. Great stay for the price point, but if you want a true B&B with a true private bathroom, you might...
