This boutique hotel property gives you the utmost in privacy, and a staff (we were hosted by Rocio and Ivette) that tailors to your experience, and anticipates anything you may need. |We arrived to a cool towel with its own branded scent to refresh our faces after a day of travel, and a welcome cocktail with the lulling sound of the sea in the background, and with that our holiday began. We stayed in the Beachfront Suite which accommodated our group of three, styled with a few simple bohemian decor pieces, and a hue that matches one of the most brilliant shades of Holbox's sunsets, pulling you from the inside to outdoors, to which we had our own covered private terrace to take in the sea views and sunsets as day turns to night.|Breakfast was included in the stay, to which we were delighted with fresh fruits, assortment of juices, coffee, and a thoughtful main course that tided us over well into the late afternoon.|The location is also prime walking distance to downtown, and we were easily able to use Casa Cat Ba as a jump off to explore the gastronomic scene in downtown (recommend Luuma and also you must try the island's famous lobster pizza!) It was also easy to hail a taxi to view the flamingos and bioluminescence located on the western point of Holbox. Casa Cat Ba was the absolute highlight of our journey through Mexico, and I couldn’t have imagined a better place to celebrate my birthday. From the moment we arrived, we felt incredibly welcome and at home.||The entire team was absolutely wonderful – warm, friendly, and attentive to every little detail. They went out of their way to make us feel special, always asking about our day when we returned from a tour or a restaurant, and genuinely caring about our experience.||The house itself is stunning, decorated with so much love and attention to detail. Special touches like the turndown service and the welcome drinks (we’re still dreaming of those passion fruit mezcalitas!) added to the overall experience.||Our room was spacious and beautifully designed, with a super comfortable bed and, to our delight, a shower with great water pressure – something that isn’t always guaranteed on small islands!||Breakfast was another highlight – freshly prepared with love every morning, with a variety of dishes that kept things exciting and delicious.||The location of the hotel is perfect: just a short walk to the town center and mere steps from the beach, making it an ideal base to explore the beauty of Holbox.||We can’t say enough good things about the amazing staff and this magical place. I came to enjoy a much deserved rest and vacation at this place. The way they describe is on Instagram is far from accurate .. “where waves meet luxury” .. the truth is that they face a public beach with stray dogs and crowds and a loud bar right on the side and you can hear their music blaring in your room. Ok I admit maybe I should have researched more . But there were major floods in Holbox and they ensured they took my entire 9 day fee 14 days before I arrived and did not warn me that the island is completely flooded . They have no amenities besides sliced mango in the morning so you do have to navigate the flooded streets etc . The price I paid for this was over $600/ night with tax and there is far better accommodation available at casasandra a hotel 10 mins away that has a pool a beach club and a restaurant for the same price point . As a result I decided to change my plans and cut my trip short and requested a refund just for the last 2 nights ( I had refereed a friend as well who took over my room and they got his fees for several nights as well ) I was told that their services were not affected by the floods so they cannot refund and kept my money . Short term thinking ! I work for a major global tech company and could have referred hundredsOf co workers but not after this . Unfortunately very short sighted and not even competitively priced and poor value...
