Had dinner at this establishment within the past 24 hours. I have no idea how this establishment has over 2,000 "legit" reviews and a 4.8 rating. Arrived at 8:10 pm and restaurant is supposed to close at 10. We were seated upstairs in a bright white room with no other patrons. I ordered a mixed drink which took the bartender 15 mins to prepare with no other customers. We placed a fairly basic order. Grilled oysters as an appetizer. 2 basic tacos, and a ceviche. The service and sequencing of food was atrocious. My 2 tacos (entree) came out 1st after 15 minutes. Tasted mediocre at best. Fifteen minutes after that came my partner's vegetarian ceviche which was disgusting (didn't even bother to thin slice). 45 mins after we ordered my grilled oysters arrived which were supposed to be an appetizer. They were placed on the table while an employee mopped the floor for the evening behind us. The wait staff was clearly ready to leave for the evening and it was 9:15 pm on the restaurant was supposed to close for the evening.
We quickly asked for the check and it was a meal and service that warranted zero tip.
Easily our worst meal after a week in CDMX. The saddest part was walking back to our hotel and seeing so many restaurants bustling with full tables, laughter, and amazing food.
My experience was the exact opposite. I would not recommend that restaurant to any local or visitor. Too many other great options on every street in Roma Norte...
Read moreWas walking through the neighborhood and popped in. A bit more upscale than some other Mexican seafood places in the area, but not stuffy at all. Good place for a date. I was greeted and quickly seated with a choice of tables. The platter of salsas with tostadas arrived shortly after I was seated. Pretty expansive menu, that’s mostly variations of a dish or a particular fish. Not many choices for non-alcoholic drinks other than the standards. I never saw a wine list, however it is a full bar with an emphasis on cocktails. Salmon came out after a reasonable amount of time and it was well plated, but a bit short on the amount of sides. Fish was properly cooked but I wouldn’t say finely cooked, in other words it was about like any average seafood restaurant vs a specialty restaurant with a just pink, juicy cook. Skin was crisp and proper, though. Service was good and available when needed. I would visit again but not go...
Read moreThe fish was not fresh, the service was abismal and the food in general very sub par. No one of my party can conceive how this place has a 4.8 in google. Unless they buy their reviews. Everyone got their food at different times so we basically didn’t eat together. My food took 55 minutes to get to me and it was just a ceviche and a tostada. Dishes I can make form zero under half of that time and I don’t work in a kitchen. The restaurant wasn’t full so it can’t explain the lateness. Unless they had to fast defrost the fish to make my dish which would very well explain the spongy texture of the fish in the ceviche. The waiters didn’t do much better than the kitchen unfortunately. I don’t tend to be this harsh in my reviews but this deserves to be out there for other people not to fall into the trap. For the restaurant owners, please do something about this. I wish you to improve and be successful...
