Pros:||- Location is great.. right in front of the Cathedral of Morelia||and that is the only good thing this hotel has.||Cons:||- Beds are as hard as the floor..extremely uncomfortable.||- No Air Conditioner: i couldnt believe that in 2024 in a hot country as Mexico a hotel didnt have AC, instead only offer 2 fans.||- the rooms with balcony are extremely noisy, especially Thursdays to Sunday. The noise is unbearable from all of the Street performers, Fireworks, Motocycles, Taxi horns, Ambulances or the Constant music playing from the nearby restaurants on the same sidewalk as the hotel.||- if you book via Booking.com or any other online agency and there is any issue or you need to modify your stay, you are out of luck... The Management will not take ANY RESPONSIBILITY or OWNERSHIP. I reserved 7 nights and i left after 3 because all the issues mentioned above. HOTEL MANAGEMENT refused to cancel or accomodate my needs. not even acknowledged my early checkout...WORST EXPERIENCE EVER....||- We heard their Restaurant food was good but it was always empty while we stayed there. We did not eat there because it doesnt look clean. too close to the super busy street, dusty and smoky. I guess locals didnt like their food either.||||bottom line:||If you like SWEATY, RESTLESS and SLEEPLESS nights, this is the hotel for you. Otherwise, AVOID this place at all COST.||Trip type||Vacation||Travel group||Couple||Rooms: 1||Service: 1||Location: 4||Rooms||the floor would be more confortable than the beds||Safety||if you arrived at night like we did, you have to be careful not to step on the homeless people sleeping on the front door.||Walkability||only plus it has... Location is great... it is in the middle of historic town.. close to everything.||Noteworthy details||Management only care about collecting their money.||Hotel...
Read moreThe hotel is amazing not only is the staff super friendly and helpful, but they are also super accommodating. I arrived around 5 am on a Tuesday morning and there was someone there to check me in and help me with my luggage all the way to my room. The area is super safe since its right in the Heart of Morelia, and all the cool city center spots are within walking distance! I booked the room last minute due to an unforeseen family emergency and the price I paid for 4 nights did not cost an arm and a leg. The room was cleaned daily, and the towels changed too. What I loved most was that there was no stuffy carpet smell in the room since the rooms have hardwood floors. The water pressure was amazing too! no complaints there. Whenever someone asks me for recommendations of where to stay in Morelia, I always recommend Hotel Casino.
The only real downside to the hotel would be the faucet water. The first few days were fine, but then one night went I went to turn on the hot water to get warm water to wash my face, the water that came out of the faucet was an orange color and it smelled heavily of iron. This was only one day however, so I'm not so sure if it will keep happening. but the next morning after I washed my hands, I ran my hands through the cold water and then through my hair to fix a few fly aways and my hair smelled like the iron from the night before. The smell was really nauseating, but I managed to keep it away but putting my hair back away from my face, it was a little...
Read moreI booked 3 nights here and booked a more expensive room with balcony overlooking the square. The square across the street was beautiful as was the view of the Cathedral but the Christmas music blaring through the square during the day on January 10, continued all night long. The same 4-5 songs on a loop playing over and over. It was the worst torture I could have imagined. The next morning I was moved to an interior room that seemed more quiet but the sound of the kitchen fan vibrated the building until after 11pm and began again the next morning at 7:30am. The staff was not super helpful or concerned and I subsequently cancelled my third night and moved to a nearby hotel which was much nicer, less money and included an amazing American breakfast instead of the pitiful continental breakfast at the hotel casino. I would have preferred not to move and stay a third night but the price offered was identical to what I could have booked myself through a travel app. I tried to explain to the front desk that this was not acceptable due to my horrible experience but they refused to do anything. My experience here was probably the worst I have had during my Mexico road trip even at hotels for half the price. They really nickel and dined you to death. If you want a relaxing place to stay...
