LOCATION||Exceptional location right on the beach. The architecture is very interesting, it looks like it was built in steps, and they are still adding to it. It has several very small rooms; we were offered one and it looked like a closet. So, we decided to upgrade. Very expensive, even for western standards, $300 a night. But the expensive rooms are beautiful, with large bathrooms, private balconies with nice beds where you can relax and enjoy the view of the beach.||Colorful tiles in the bathroom, tile floors which makes it easy to clean. The room has air conditioned which is a must in this heat. ||Also, there is a pool in the courtyard of the hotel, which is cleaned daily, and it is very refreshing. ||There are lounge chairs and air beds in front of hotel, on the beach very nice setup where you can lay very close to the surf and enjoy a cold beer or another cold beverage. We haven’t tried the drinks so I can not review them. But the beer, the mineral water and coca cola are always very chilled which is so good – again it is very hot in Zipolite. ||One bad thing is that the stairs and the railways are made of wood. They look very rustic and nice but the climate is very harsh here and the wood is cracking and breaking. In some parts the rails are missing and it can be very dangerous to go up and down the stairs in the dark. I stumbled one night on the stairs. My husband cut his hand in a rusted nail sticking out of the door. In our opinion these things should be fixed. ||Again, it is Zipolite in Mexico, a very laid back place but this place charges a lot for the stay.||The cleaners are also very good, they offer to clean every day and there is no problem if you chose just to have the garbage taken out for a day, then have your room cleaned next day.||Being in Zipolite, it is a mix of nudists and people that chose to wear their bathing suits, and everybody is respectful and nice.||Also, you have to be prepared that there is a huge number of gay people coming here, so if you are not tolerant enough this is not the place for you. ||We have been here three years ago, this is the second time for us, and it has some improvements, they have free ice which you can bring to you room which is really important in this heat.||Internet is non existent, not only in this hotel but all around Zipolite.||FOOD||Breakfast is included and there is a restaurant on the premises. We tried the breakfast the first day and we didn’t like it. The coffee was terrible, even if we are in Oaxaca and we both had eggs and they were just OK. We have high standards though because Oaxaca state is known for its gourmet cuisine and really good coffee. In fact, it is hard to get a bad coffee but Budamar manages very well in that.||We also tried lunch here and it was a big mistake. My husband had the Wagyu burger, which was just Ok and I had the pulpo (octopus) , which was a terrible mistake. I got really sick, with tummy cramps and nausea. Fortunately I am a healthy person so with some Pepto-Bismol and Imodium I was OK in one day. But we will never eat anything here again.||SERVICE||Like I said, the cleaners are awesome. The waiters are very helpful too, attending to all your needs when you enjoy the beach. When I was sick, the young girl called Alronda even got me her own Pepto-Bismol.||Nobody speaks English, except the manager but they make all the effort to understand your broken Spanish.||The manager is very helpful with anything you need; she helped us with transportation and reservations for restaurants. ||The bartenders might have to work on their manners though; every time I ask something they look at me like I just landed from the moon. So I usually turn around and ask a waiter for help.||To resume,||Fantastic location, very good rooms, very good amenities, good service, no English, no Internet, clean, but the restaurant not only a big disappointment but dangerous too for people with...
Read moreDON’T STAY HERE THEY’LL STEAL YOUR MONEY, YOUR CELLPHONE. I stayed in Budamar with my friend from 8th to 10th of November 2021. We got the Balcony Suite. We went out and when we came back, we noticed they cleaned the room but my friend was very upset bc THEY STOLE HER MONEY from her luggage! I talked to the manager, but she didn’t even care or apologize. She was very unprofessional with no management skills or whatsoever. Also I got the suite with private balcony. But some random dude got into our balcony and stayed there at night drinking and smoking!! It was very scary situation bc my female friend and I were traveling alone and I also complaint to the manager, but again, she didn’t even apologize. There’re more bad reviews of this hotel on the Facebook Group of Zipolite, where some guest got their cellphone stolen, I wished I checked the reviews before I booked here, but I thought it was safe bc of the price. I highly recommend Hotel Posada Mexico, way better service and amazing food, we couldn’t extend our stay in Posada Mexico and we had to look for another hotel, but I wish I never stayed here. On this trip we stayed in Airbnb’s and Hotels in Zipolite, Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca City and CDMX and unfortunately Budamar of Zipolite was the only bad experience.

Now the downs:
No exercise room. (Minor)
Dinner the one night I ate there was a bit stale. I Got violently ill and passed out later that evening. Injured myself in the fall and ended my vacation early. (I'm quite certain this food caused my illness since this was the first meal I had after arriving in mexico and I had consumed nothing since breakfast. I had only consumed bottled water during the day.) I paid these people exactly what I owed them. Why did they not give me quality food? I was still sick days later. (Absolutely MAJOR!!)
No inter-Communication System between the rooms and the front desk. Therefore, no way to contact them. Even a walkie-talkie system would be better. (Minor unless you get injured)
Rooms lack soundproofing of any kind. For those around the pool (like mine), conversation and kids can be heard at all hours of the day and into the night. Fortunately, it's a quieter crowd so things normally calm down around 9:30 p.m. (Major)
Windows are somewhat opaque or higher than room level. So no worries about people looking in; however, there are no curtains so light floods in at all hours of the day. If you don't like that and/or you don't have eye shades, you're screwed. (Major)
Blankets, if you could call them that, were paper thin. (Major)
They let small issues get in the way Of an otherwise quality...
