TLDR: Stop thinking about your Zipolite vacation and just book it and stay at Casa Sol! I’ve heard about this place from friends and everyone mentions how amazing it is, so it’s been on my list for a few years now. I finally had the opportunity to stay here and it was everything I wanted and more. Truly a magical place on top of the hill with stunning views of Playa Zipolite. The staff & service: Casa Sol employees were a 10 out of 10! From Isaac, to Jessica, to every single person we interacted with, everyone was so friendly and welcoming and helpful. It really felt like home and they were so attentive. All very kind. For the service alone, I’d come back over and over. You also get free daily breakfast from 8-10 and free happy hour with wine, beer, and some cocktails from 6-7. This was a great way to meet other hotel guests. We met some really nice people. The rooms: we were a group of 4 and we stayed in Palma Real. We couldn’t ask for a better villa! (Although I am sure every single one is beautiful). We had a private pool and two decks that overlooked Playa Zipolite. We were able to see the sunrise every morning from our bed or the pool just before breakfast. The hotel: everywhere you went in the hotel was beautiful. There are 3 pools to choose from. All got great sunlight throughout the day, but we would sometimes leave our private pool to go to the ocean view (clothing optional) pool and hang out. the architecture is done just right and greenery made it feel so cozy and beautiful. We stayed for 4 nights and I didn’t want to leave! I cannot express this enough, this hotel is truly special, and the staff, service, and atmosphere make it all feel like a magical place. Thank you, Casa Sol, for making our stay in Zipolite one to remember!

Just returned from a 5 night stay at Casa Sol and it was wonderful. We found Casa Sol after staying at The Red Tree House in CDMX (same owners, just as wonderful) in 2022 and immediately booked another vacation to Zipolite. We stayed in the Hideway, which had its own private pool & the most amazing view. Each morning there is homemade breakfast, which is always so delicious. There is also a happy hour in the evening. Both are great ways to meet fellow travelers and be social if you want. It’s not a party atmosphere like some hotels in Zipolite, but to me it’s a perfect mix of peacefulness and social. One thing I do want to mention is that even though it’s a quick walk to the beach/town, the hotel is located above the beach in Playa Camaron, so the walk back up consists of a lot of stairs. 157 to be exact, if you take the “shortcut” route. I would absolutely stay at Casa Sol again, but not realizing that initially did change our initial plans of when/how often we went into town each day. The staff is top notch and we had such an amazing time!

Casa Sol was wonderful from start to finish. The staff are some of the warmest, friendliest we have met anywhere. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfasts overlooking the ocean on the terrace are the perfect way to start your day. The coffee and fresh homemade banana bread were something to look forward to. They even treated us to an afternoon on the loungers on the small beach next to the hotel which felt like a private beach. If the sea is calm enough you can take a kayak out to explore. We stayed in the Hideaway, which had its own private lounge pool and was really comfortable and spacious inside. Overall we couldn’t recommend it enough and can’t wait to come back!

Getting to this place is not easy or cheap (at least from San Francisco, CA), but Casa Sol was well worth the journey. Isaac, Victor, Carolina, and Abigail were such warm and welcoming hosts. They felt more like friends than "staff", and I appreciate that. This was our first time in the area, so it was nice to be immediately welcomed so warmly after a somewhat grueling/windy taxi ride from Huatulco airport. Also, the morning breakfasts, which were included with our stay, were by far the best meals we had in Zipolite. So fresh and varied---I was so impressed with the quality but also the relaxed vibe of the people preparing our meals who were doing it very openly/visibly in the communal kitchen (no one seemed stressed about making all of that food for everyone on different schedules---how?!! haha). I didn't learn their names, but they played an equally important role in making our little getaway so delightful. Thank you also to the groundskeeepers who took such amazing care of this beautiful, impressive property built into the cliffs.

I keep thinking back to our stay here. It feels a world away now. I hope to be back soon and will definitely recommend it to others!

A couple of suggestions: some sort of snack and/or coffee and fresh juice (perhaps including iced coffee drinks) made available throughout the day would have been great as there are no meals offered here after breakfast and it is quite a descent to get into the town. I was a bit under the weather while staying here, so I was probably thinking about this more...

The Hotel was more than what we where expected. The Staff was outstanding. The Food was amazing! The work the owners put into Casa Sol to make it so beautiful. It made it had to leave. It was just a stress free environment. All I was missing was my fur babies. Thank you Craig and Jorge for allowing us to enjoy your beautiful home. Isaac and Carolina Thank for making us feel so welcomed. We really enjoyed your company. Dona Alica your Breakfast where so Good. To bad you couldn't make us lunch too. Chef Zesar. Wow! Just Amazing! We cannot stop talking about you delicious Food. Too many words to describe your talents. Your presentation blew us away. Rodrigo,Clemente Thank you for being our Waiters and bartenders. We did not know you were in training. Still you did an excellent job. Craig thank you for your company during Breakfast. I really enjoyed hearing about the work you've done and still doing at Casa Sol and Maquil. Jorge, thank for asking about my Birthday. I was very moved that you cared. My wife enjoyed talking to you in the early morning before the sunrises. The landscape you designed for the two hotels is so beautiful and left us at all. I don't know what was more work? Designing the Villas or planting the landscape? What ever it is. Both of you did an...
