They have a wide selection of mezcal sourced from all over Oaxaca. This welcoming and beautiful spot was a great place to learn more about mezcal and taste a variety of agaves, distillation techniques, and other variations of mezcal.

Definitely worth a visit if you’re nearby

Additional information: We were here in early October 2022, there had been a hurricane through here earlier this year and the roads are a bit washed out, we were able to drive in and park without issue, but be aware of this when driving in.

I fell in love with this place and visited twice.

I’m from Vancouver, which has some of the worst mezcal on earth. Whenever I travel, I’m eager to discover local mezcal. My spanish is limited, and thankfully the bartender Angel spoke english and was able to walk me through the mezcal that this place produces. They have dozens of diverse varieties. You can get flights of 6 for 500 pesos.

My only complaint is that not all of the mezcal was available for purchase! I wanted to buy so much more, but they were out of most bottles. The bottle I did buy was very pricey- about $115 CAD for 500mL.

I’ve heard a few people say that this is one of the best Mezcalerias in Oaxaca, if not Mexico (therefore the world). You’ve gotta give props to those that do things well and this place does. Angel and Lucio are both awesome bartenders with so much knowledge and look after their guests so warmly. My girlfriend and I spent every night of our time in Zipolite at this bar prior to dinner and each time we experienced something new and different.
