SO CUTE! This café is definitely on the trendy (and yes, slightly gentrified) side, but it’s such a lovely spot to relax. There’s a small boutique at the entrance with beautifully curated items — the prices are definitely high, but it’s still fun to browse while waiting for your coffee. I ordered a flat white and it was perfect! Smooth, strong, and beautifully balanced. I really appreciated that they offered soy milk, which can be hard to find in Oaxaca — more cafés need to take note! The backyard area is an absolute gem — peaceful, lush, and full of natural light. It feels like a little oasis tucked away from the busy streets. I also tried the cookie, which was the perfect texture: soft in the center with a slight crisp on the edges. If you’re looking for a calm, stylish café in Oaxaca with great coffee and good vibes, this place is a must-visit! Tip: grab a copy of the map they have in the store - it highlights some great local businesses.

They make a great Cortado! They forgot our order however the quality made up for the oversight. Popular place on a popular street, close to a good bakery and other attractions. Good place to start your day. The merchandise is overpriced but will appeal to those who might say ‘rent-free’. UPDATE 2024: They moved locations!! Much bigger and better. Interiors would be described as WOW. What a great job. Art-inspired semi-brutal monolith chairs compliment the delicate cafe seating. They now have a dedicated shop and I would now say the clothing and ceramics are slightly overpriced for Oaxaca but well curated. Macchiato was on point and the grilled cheese was cheeeeeeeeezyyyyy.

Kiyo is a very welcomed addition to the cafe scene here in Oaxaca; it is very rare to find a place where both the coffee and food are top notch, but they’ve nailed it here. The current coffee selection ranges from Oaxaca to Ethiopia, with talented baristas to back it up. The cafe is much like the menu in that both are small, yet well planned and executed. The aesthetic is killer, you can see and feel the thought placed into everything from the goods for sale to the serveware. Definitely a 10/10 spot, looking forward to seeing it develop over time.

Avoid this place if you need to get some work done! Rude and unaccommodating manager who gave me lots of attitude and did not allow to do some work on one the corner tables as apparently they now only allow computers at the one table in the middle of cafe. The problem is it’s noisy and it has zero plugins. I asked politely a few times to just seat at the corner table with plugin while I was the only customer but she could not care less. There are plenty of cafes in town, so take your business elsewhere where they actually care about...
