Kuyaan Coral Suites by Holiday in Playa — Hotel in Playa del Carmen

Alas, the construction and dogs! For the price, meh. Would've written this on booking.com but the building manager canceled my reservation to accept direct payment. Heads up, credit card transactions either come with a $15 charge or 5% transaction fee.

The good: the tap water is filtered enough for cooking room is furnished with a nice LG tv, comfortable king-sized bed, soft body towels, and sufficient kitchen utilities great location spacious comfortable chairs and countertop work space in kitchen rooftop view and pool

Here's what I didn't like: unreliable internet connection for conferences, meetings, webinars mind-numbing construction noise and vibration from drilling and hammering nearly every day echo chamber effect the many dogs barking late each night misleading information from building manager (e.g., feigning ignorance about construction and then promising that construction would only be for one day, credit card use will not result in extra charges, etc.) little ants crawling around everywhere adjacent sister building is within spitting distance (about 5 feet balcony to balcony) giving a potential neighbor full peeping power directly into your room unless shades are drawn (construction workers currently working on the building have no qualms staring)

My favorite part about this place is simply its location and utilities, but due to the resounding construction and misleading information, I would opt elsewhere...

Our booking was made (and paid for) by someone else - otherwise we wouldnt have spent even two nights at this place. It was ill equipped (literally two plates, cups and utensils; damaged pans, no cleaning supplies) and the sponge left for us to use was falling apart and smelled. We had to stay for a month and during that time had to request ant treatment weekly (apparently they never fumigated before we got there). Internet went out daily at 4, and again at 8. Bed was ROCK hard - so bad that I slept on the sofa many nights because it was painful to lay there. Smoker were allowed all through the building. the pool is TINY - about 20 feet wide and COLD. I regret booking even a night at this place. Shower does not get hot. Air condition drains on the floor and floods the apartment every single day. On my very first night I was awakened at 1 am by the security guard who informed me the volume on my cellular phone was too loud. Stay away from this place one excuse after another no results this is a horrible mistake. I have not had one day of peace since I've checked in here over...
