Branton Burguer Grill — Restaurant in Playa del Carmen

Branton Burger has been my go-to spot for delicious burgers in town for years, being conveniently located just a few blocks from my home. I frequently ordered takeout and thoroughly enjoyed their mouthwatering creations. However, a recent visit to the establishment with my girlfriend's family, who were in town for vacation, completely changed my perspective.

We decided to dine in for the first time at Branton Burger, hoping to share our love for their food with our guests. Unfortunately, this experience turned out to be a massive disappointment and left our hearts heavy.

The service was far from satisfactory, with painfully slow wait times and a general lack of attentiveness. What compounded the issue was the staff's poor attitude throughout the evening. Instead of being welcoming and polite, they were rude and unapproachable, making us feel uneasy and unwelcome.

Our experience that evening was further marred by a specific incident. Our table of nine first ordered appetizers and drinks, followed by burgers for the main course. They served our appetizers promptly, but about 10 minutes later, when they started bringing out the burgers, our drinks were still nowhere to be seen. We politely inquired about the status of our beverages—eight soft drinks and one juice—and were told they were on their way.

Another 5-10 minutes passed as we all received our burgers, yet our drinks still hadn't arrived. We asked about them once again, and the server assured us they were almost ready. It was perplexing that eight simple soft drinks would take so long to be served, not to mention the juice. Eventually, they began serving the soft drinks, but they were short by three Coca Colas. We informed them of the discrepancy, and it took an additional 10-15 minutes for them to rectify the situation. By that time, my burger had turned cold, and the bread had become soggy.

It's heartbreaking when a long-time favorite spot fails to meet your expectations, especially when introducing it to loved ones. This experience at Branton Burger has severely impacted our perception of the restaurant and left us questioning whether we would return in the future.

We can only hope that the establishment takes note of our experience and makes the necessary changes to ensure that all customers, both new and returning, feel welcomed and receive the quality service...

Hubby and I have been walking by this little place in the evening on the way to pick up or drop off our laundry. The smells emanating from the establishment were really enticing us. Finally we found the occasion to try it out. Delicious. We had burgers and fries. Hubby had the supreme which he declared delicious and I had the basic which was hardly basic because it was smothered in caramelized onions— my favourite. The fries were crispy and brown. There were a few different sauces available as well as ketchup and the dishes were accompanied by a side of bite sized cob on the corn ( american corn previously frozen I believe but still tasty). The corn was dressed Mexican style with chilli powder and mayonnaise— be sure to tell them if you would prefer it undressed.

We had the aqua fresca. I had guava and hubby had cucumber and lemon. Delicious.

The service was extremely attentive. It was early for them at about 8 pm and the rush hour had not yet arrived so I can’t say that they can be so attentive at rush hour. We have walked by later in the evening when the place is packed. They say their hours are 1pm to midnight ( more or less). The prices were competitive for the quality...

Best burger in playa? Get out of here. Wasn’t even cooked properly and even after I asked them to cook it more it was still soft. Medium doesn’t mean uncooked. Immediately got food poisoning after. Massively regretting going here.

Service was non-existent. Gave me the bill right after I finished burger even though I still had my drink to finish as if they wanted me out of there asap. There wasn’t even anyone else in the restaurant. And I said I don’t want anything else- for now. I was going to order a shake later but they brought me the bill and kept pestering to pay for it. What a weird company culture. I’d gone here a few months ago and the tacos and experience was good, but this time was horrendous.

Avoid so many better places in the area. And if you didn’t pester me and let me chill with my drink, I would have...
