this is an experience from a year ago, I regret not writing a review then but seeing on the news something similar happen to another moroccans in a different hotel, this has to stop. ||in short, Moroccans are not welcomed here -Last year I had to be in Tangier and planned to stay in this hotel because someone I know who was in Tangier just two days prior and stayed here recommended it to me because I was on a budget, they said a room for two costed them 270DH... i'm not a tourist, i had to be in tangier because i had an exam. Now, I arrive with my aunt in the hotel, we were told a night there in a room for two costs 320DH. We explained that we were on a budget and that the hotel was recommended to us because of the low price. The receptionist was like "go to the nearby hotel and ask how much it costs a night in there, and if they said 270DH you can come back and i'll give you the room". And we did just that, and we were right, a night does cost 270DH there too, but unfortunately the rooms were all full, so we had to go back to Maram. We told the guy what happened and he was like alright wait in here. As we waited, a spanish guy walks in and the receptionist gives him the room that he was supposed to give to us and then told us that all rooms were full now. We confronted him and he was like "7acha we treat everyone the same" and you can see even through the spanish guy's face that he was embarrassed to be there. Mind you this took place at around 11 am and we literally spent the whole day on foot looking for a hotel to stay in, but they were all full. My aunt was scared that we would have to stay the night outside + I had an exam the next day so i had to at least revise for it. it was until around 9 pm that we found a place to stay in. a "hotel" in terrible conditions, but we were thankful for it anyway. ||||||||by the way, below i'm asked when did i travel- it was not on january 2018 but that's the closest to last year so i had...

Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who run this hotel. You only have to mention that something would make your life easier and they are escorting, booking, fixing or supplying whatever it is you need. They take time to talk to all their guests and frequently send pots of Moroccan mint tea up to your room. I have never experienced such personal service. ||||Yes, this is a budget hotel. Tangier was cold and it rained every day for the whole 4 weeks I was there. However, I didn't want to pay for heating so was happy to make do with the massive supply of blankets and consistent supply of hot water.||||What I did need was very good wifi - and it is there in every room at Hotel Maram - with a router on every floor. It is also very clean - and cleaning staff will do your laundry overnight for a small fee.||||The location is fabulous - in the heart of the medina but near enough the waterfront to make walking or jogging there easy. This means, of course, that it is noisy - prayer calls, merchants, tourists and cats all contribute. I love it but not the place for you if you want quiet. There are no clubs here though. At night (except for the morning prayer call), it is quiet. ||||Thank you for having me Mr Nourredin, Usama, Murad and Fatima. I...

Where to begin? I was robbed in the middle of the night at this hotel. Room 14. A robber entered my room at 5 a.m., came through the balcony to the room and stole my phone. I woke up because of a rustling sound a few centimeters from my bed and started to scream. After that I spent the entire next day at the police station investigating the robbery. Most of the hotel staff were sympathetic, but I can't say that about everyone. One of the administrators asked me to keep silence about this situation and leave it "between us." I do not intend to do this, because I want to warn future hotel guests about what happened to me so that they remain vigilant, lock the balcony door and make their choice about staying in this hotel before booking. In addition to the great stress associated with the robbery, I would also like to note that the condition of the shower room is deplorable: a broken faucet and a leaking sink didn't help a lot to have any comfort of being there. Also Wi-Fi did not work at all in the room on the top floor...

This little hostel/hotel was a pleasant surprise of my visit to Tangier. The staff were welcoming and very helpful. The rooms, while on the small side, were more than comfortable with comfortable beds, sink and shower in the room and a very clean shared toilet across the hall. My room looked down on Rue de la Marine (the Main Street) which provided a lot of time for people watching when my feet were tired. The hotel is in the heart of the old city with many shops and street stalls for browsing and lots of dining options close by. All in all, Hôtel Maram provided the perfect place for me to stay for the four days I was in Tangier. And, for the price, the best bargain of my trip. I highly recommend it to any travelers.

Very nice place to stay! Pleasant staff, nice rooms, comfortable beds, a very cosy little roof terrace with a view to the local mosque and a with a glimpse of the seafront behind it. Not much noise even though it’s in the medina. The nearness to the mosque is of course heard 5 times a day, but you can hardly avoid that if you want to stay in an old medina. There is a truly fabulous street food restaurant 20 meters away and several good cafés with good coffee and of course Moroccan tea. I shared shower and toilet with the other 3 rooms on the third floor, but I think you can get a room with a bathroom if you want it.

The hotel's location was convenient, in the heart of the Medina. The staff was generally friendly and accommodating, which made check-in and check-out processes smooth. However, I found the rooms to be a bit outdated and in need of renovation. The amenities were basic, no lift available for top floor where I stayed which includes private showers. The power was also faulty and I had to use my wallet to keep it at at a position. However, with some updates to the rooms and improvements in the breakfast offerings, it has the potential to offer a more enjoyable experience for future guests.
