My husband and I spent a lovely week at Nbta House. The staff were incredibly attentive, genuine, and gave us great suggestions and guidance whenever it was needed. They worked great as a team, exuding a family-like energy that made us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. In fact, the first evening was pouring rain, and Yassine kindly set up the evening for us in their lounge area, with a projector playing short films and a lovely meal in. It was the perfect way to end our first day of exploring the lay of the land.
My husband and I are both foodies, and although my husband isn’t vegetarian, we both enjoyed the meals provided. The breakfast included in our stay was abundant, full of flavour and kept us fueled for our long days of exploring. We particularly enjoyed adding the egg and tomato dish, which had a small but fair added cost. I also highly recommend their pistachio latte. As a minor suggestion, I would add a small, healthy savory dish to the spread and reduce the amount of bread.
On some days, we made sure to head back to Nbta House in the mid-day or at sunset for a quick rest and recharge so we could enjoy the rooftop, mint tea, and dessert (their desserts are delicious!). There were also a few nights when we preferred to return to Nbta House to enjoy a meal from their menu while relaxing in the downstairs dining space.
As both of us are in the arts, we loved and appreciated all the small evening events they hosted. We were actually sad to know we would miss some of their upcoming events after our stay. The music was always great, including a live event one evening with a DJ who took us on an experimental listening journey during dinner.
Although we tried many different restaurants and explored Tangier to its fullest, Nbta House really felt like home, and we wanted to enjoy that environment just as much as the city and surrounding areas themselves. We truly appreciate the team's efforts in creating a unique experience—definitely a space for those who appreciate a fresh take on Moroccan culture.
The rooms were very comfortable, and we were happy with everything—from comfort to functionality, and all the little details. It was hard to leave, and we would definitely stay here again if we have the chance to visit in the future.
As for the location, it’s great and very close to the entrance of Bab el Hira into the medina. It’s very easy to flag a taxi from the bottom of the entrance, making it a convenient drop-off and pickup point.
I must give a special thanks to Dounia, Yassine, Fatima, and all the other staff—Aymane, Khalil, Kadiatou, Sarra, Aïcha, and Taha—for making our stay extra special. Don’t forget to get to know the people of Tangier while you visit and explore their homeland. Take your time to talk to those you pass by, because the heart of Morocco truly is its...
Read moreFood was delicious, we had 2 full meals to share between 3, which we were advised would be too much but was the perfect amount for us (a lot of bread) the briouates and mezze sharing platter were delicious as was the vegan meatballs and the creamy beans, we have no complaints on these at all, so so great and also great size for the money spent. The deserts were tiny, and not really to our taste but that’s ok.
Our issue lies in the service we received, the staff were friendly (especially the young guy with the British accent) however we received all of our food at the same time, including the desserts which was quite overwhelming especially as the tables were very small. The drinks came after the starters and we were also asked if we were finished and our server tried to take our plates after what felt like 5 minutes of the food being delivered.
The restaurant itself was beautifully decorated, we sat on the terrace which was very picturesque. Whilst not being overly busy, we felt it could’ve done with some quiet music to kind of hide other people’s conversations.
Other than the strange service we received we really can see the good in this place, and it’s so amazing that everything was veggie/ vegan so we finally got to taste the beautiful...
Read moreAmazing birthday dinner for my girlfriend (who is vegetarian, though I am not). First and foremost this is a beautiful restaurant, both in its interior and terrace spaces. Both are equally worth sitting in. Design is top notch, with a beautiful garden modern aesthetic. Service is equally fantastic. Our server was extremely kind, explained each dish to us, and was helpful in describing what to order based on what we liked. For example, he said the ginger mocktail was not recommended if we did not like ginger, since it was so ginger forward. My girlfriend loves ginger, so it was a perfect recommendation. Every dish we ordered was flavorful and even better, texture was always interesting and pleasurable. Salad was fresh and tangy, meatballs were velvety and savory, and the fries were some of the best I’ve had. You can’t trust all these people who complain about slow service and give every restaurant a one star. ONE star? These people are deluded. It’s a small kitchen and they’re pumping out such delicious food! Where are you in a rush to? Are you an on call surgeon or something? Sit back, relax, and enjoy a very fine...
