3 of us stayed 2 nights at this place in December 2019. ||||Pros:||- Towels are provided, bedding was clean and included quilts.||- Tiny shared bathroom, but the water pressure is decent when it kicks in (wait 30 seconds) and the temperature is consistent (hot showers). Shower was less enjoyable when others were showering elsewhere, there were a few times we either had to have a cold shower or miss it.||- Warm blankets for cold weather, our triple room was not too cold during winter evening, and nice and warm in the mornings.||||Cons:||- Not a secure venue: the entrance is in a little street just off a main street, currently anyone can walk off the street, up the stairs and straight into the hostel (only ever saw one staff member on-site, and there were few guests when we were there). If I were a solo female traveller, I'd think twice about staying here. ||||- Hostel is still being furbished (which we were not aware of when we booked or told about when we checked in), so no access to shared kitchen, terrace was filthy and didn't have much of a view - no common area to prepare food or hang out||- Mattresses were unfortunately the most uncomfortable that we had in Morocco (very hard) and the noise level in the street was intolerable: walls are thin and we had rowdy men talking and singing from 11pm through to 5am in the street. Some of us couldn't sleep at all for the 2 nights that we stayed, we were either kept up or woken up by noise. If you stay here, avoid the rooms facing the main street.||- We only had one accessible powerpoint to share between the 3 of us in our room. The other power point was set high up on the wall beyond reach.||- Manager not on-site most of the time, just one staff member on-site with minimal English. On the first night we were unfortunately introduced to a guy/scumbag who took us to the tourist trap Restaurant Kasbah (avoid!) in the medina for a commission, where we were overcharged EUR15 each for a mediocre set meal that was pretty much forced on us.||||Overall, this hostel a very affordable place and as seasoned backpackers who have stayed in many a grimy/noise place we really wanted to support it by giving it a go...but overall it had too many notable trade-offs in terms of the discomfort of beds/security/noise level. PARTICULARLY noise level. Unfortunately we would not book again if in Tangier unless...
Read moreThe balcony with chairs was great. The bathroom was cleaned everyday. The staff were friendly. The WiFi was good. The shower was a good temperature.||The door is not clearly marked so a little hard to find. The security is bad - you can lock your bedroom door but anyone can walk into the main area as there is no external front door. This property is not beachfront or have a view of the beach. It is on a busy street in the Medina which can get a little loud. The beds are hard. I would still recommend it for a few nights (I extended for a third) especially...
