Our stay at Kasbah House turned into a traumatic ordeal that no guest should ever endure. At 3 a.m., we were abruptly awakened by persistent noises at our room door. Thinking it might be a confused guest, I asked, “Who is it?” The only response was a chilling, low-voiced “open.” The person continued trying to enter for several minutes, ignoring our refusal.
My wife, in shock and panic, opened the window and began shouting for help. Local neighbors came to our aid, believing we were being targeted by a criminal. What followed was even more surreal: the intruder turned out to be the hotel owner himself, who—due to a misunderstanding for which we bore no responsibility—chose to act in a way that was aggressive, unprofessional, and deeply inappropriate.
He stormed into our room, threatening us and demanding we leave immediately, with a tone full of arrogance and hostility. After an hour-long confrontation, he finally realized it was all a misunderstanding. Yet even then, he clung to his version of events as a moral shield, refusing to acknowledge the gravity of his actions. No apology was offered until I demanded one explicitly. My wife, half-dressed and terrified, was treated like a criminal, while two young staff members stood at the door watching silently.
🛏️ The room itself was visually appealing, as is typical of many Moroccan riads, but plagued by common issues: noisy surroundings, clogged plumbing, and worn-out sheets. These flaws were minor compared to the psychological distress we endured.
👤 Receptionist: To be fair, he was kind and helpful during check-in and throughout our stay. However, he failed to take initiative when the situation escalated, allowing the manager to act recklessly. His passivity contributed to the chaos.
⚠️ Final Thoughts: This review reflects our personal experience, not necessarily the norm at Kasbah House. However, it raises serious concerns about guest safety, professionalism, and the maturity of the management. What we lived through was real, humiliating, and unacceptable. I share this in hopes that it serves as a warning to others who value respect, peace of mind, and basic human decency above a...
Read moreI traveled with a friend of mine in January, for me it was the first time in Morocco and I was overwhelmed with the hospitality and warmth of the people. The Kasba house is a typical Moroccan house with cosy luxious rooms and the decoration is fantastic. Via small beautiful stairs you can go to your room (for disabled people it might be a problem) Beside our bedroom there is a lounge room in decorated in Moroccan style, where you can read the nice books they have there or just sit and relax and enjoy the beautiful decoration. Everything is very clean. The matrasses are very film. The bathroom is spacious and there are more than enough towels. The breakfast is good and healthy. You pay a bit for an extra coffee. The views from the two rooftops are amazing. You look over the city and sea above all the rooftops of the medina. At the table where we had breakfast you meet people from all over the world. In the area enough restaurants and places to go to for a drink. Also the little shops in the medina are nearby.
And then….Nora! 👌❤️ Nora is so nice, friendly and always willing to do everything to make your stay more pleasant. She recommended us some good local restaurants. The first night she booked a private massage in our room. That was really wonderful. You can pay afterwards via the hotel bill. Also she intermediated when we wanted to book a Hammam. She has her contacts everywhere in the town. That was very handy when, due to the Herminia storm, our boat back to Spain was cancelled. After assuring that we could leave the same day, she drove us together with her colleague, with their private car one hour (and back) to another harbour. Really a wonderful service and made a big difference for us. I know for sure that I will come back here to see her again and have a good time in Morocco at the...
Read moreBeware of booking Kasbah House. In March we booked 2 rooms at Kasbah House on Booking.com for a trip in June - the hotel looked great and reviews were positive. Then in mid May Booking.com emailed ‘Kasba House have initiated a free cancellation process and you have 24 hours to consider’. Surprising as we had paid for free cancellation anyway, so we called Kasbah House and said we did not want to cancel, we were looking forward to our trip to Tangier. They told us that our bookings were being cancelled as the hotel would be closed for ‘technical reasons’. However they would help us to find alternative accommodation.
Since then we have had no contact from Kasbah House. We are still waiting for them to call or email us back with the alternative accommodation After many calls we were able to source alternative place to stay ourselves.
On our visit this week we were surprised to find Kasbah House being used as a film set. Errr…does that count as ‘technical reasons’..? Obviously they had a more appealing offer than looking after guests with confirmed reservations. We have been badly let down by Kasbah House. This is not hospitality and this is no way to treat...
