Absolutely loved this place. We’re more than halfway through our trip and it’s been the best place we’ve stayed so far. The rooms are a great size (we had the Kensington), exceptionally designed and decorated throughout, and very comfortable and clean. The entire place is very beautifully decorated and designed. The pool was also a welcome treat after a long day of walking around in the hot sun.

We also had dinner at the restaurant twice. We only meant to have dinner the first night as we were too tired to go down the stairs again, but we enjoyed it so much that we booked the second night as well. The food was delicious and very well presented.

But most of all, the service is exceptional. The staff are extremely kind and polite and are the gem of this place. They made the stay that extra more comfortable.

Yes, as many reviews mention, there are stairs to get here, but if you’re able bodied, then it’s highly worth it. From what we could tell, it’s the best place to stay in Chefchaouen if you want a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Only two minor negatives to report:

  1. There are young men at the bottom of the stairs that will pretend to be hotel staff (even showing you some sort of card to attest to this) and will just take your luggage without asking and haul it up to the top and ask for a tip. They seem to have been called there by the taxi driver that was arranged for us by the hotel as he made a phone call before we arrived and he was the one to hand our luggage to this young man. I didn’t mind initially as I would’ve paid for someone to take our luggage up, but the hotel offers this for free anyway and I would have rather tipped the hotel staff for it. I did not enjoy the way the guy imposed himself, so just a caution to other guests at this hotel to watch out for these people. The hotel staff did make this clear to us when we arrived at check in, so would not fault the hotel itself, though a prior warning would have been appreciated as it seems to happen frequently based on what we were told.
  2. Our room in particular needed a tiny bit of maintenance as the toilet seat and the toilet paper holder both were not screwed on properly, so the seat continuously moved and was uncomfortable to sit on, and the holder just fell off completely. Additionally, the shower does not drain quickly so if you take a long shower the water...

I booked for 12 people 7 rooms and specifically stated at the time of booking that I would need to serve my own cooked dinner to my guests and asked them if they would be able to accommodate us, they said yes and that we can choose when we arrive, which area we would like. We were very excited to come and stay there. Despite the walking up the many stairs to get there, we knew that at least we can have a nice warm dinner. As we arrived, we were notified that we cannot use the kitchen, we said we don’t need the kitchen as we have all our food ready cooked, we just need to heat it up in our own pots, use our own dishes and then wash them with our own staff that came with us to attend us with our needs not wanting to burden the hotel staff with that. All worked well (besides some of the AC in some of the rooms) in the 100 degrees weather, in the morning we were told that we need to pay a fine of thousands of dirhams because of the crime of using the kitchen, and because we had other guests on the premises, we said we had everything prearranged and that our staff wasn’t staying there, they were only there to attend while we had our private dinner, and that those charges would have been acceptable had they been told to us in advance, but it’s not fair to slap us with “fines” on so called crimes. We also had a bag of expensive drinks that “went missing” when they brought it up from the street. We needed it for dinner, but nobody of their staff could find it. Our staff were looking in every room and couldn’t locate it. Only the next day when we asked them to look at h cameras they miraculously found it. And they became very hostile. They threatened to call police on us and yelled at us very unprofessionally. We left with a very sour taste in our mouth from a hotel we should have enjoyed - we paid full price and we had to leave carrying our own luggage down 100s of stairs, like criminals, because their staff was told not to help us. I know one thing I for one will never stay there again and I wouldn’t suggest others to stay there. It’s not owned by a local and all he needs is your cash and isn’t there to serve you. I’ve stayed at countless other hotels in Morocco and all of them were excellent with their service. Dar...

A beautiful gem nestled in the heart of Chefchaouen! Dar Jasmine is a truly magical place that exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the stunning beauty of the hotel and its breathtaking views of the blue city. The friendly and helpful staff awaited our arrival at the feet of the stairs leading to the entrance of the hotel and carried all our luggage swiftly and with great care. The accommodation was sparkling clean and impeccably maintained, making our stay feel so comfortable and refreshing. What truly sets Dar Jasmine apart is the exceptional service. The staff were incredibly attentive, warm, and welcoming, making us feel right at home. Their genuine hospitality and willingness to go above and beyond for their guests is a testament to the high standards of this Dar accommodation. It felt like a perfect home away from home, and we were so sad to leave. We cannot recommend Dar Jasmine highly enough to anyone visiting Chefchaouen. It's a must-stay for an unforgettable experience! Each and every request we put forward was met proactively and promptly fulfilled, even the request to help us learn a bit of Darija, with all the staff putting together a document with words and phonetic transcription and little notes at every occasion. What a warm and friendly experience! Also worth noting is that all the staff worked in perfect harmony and with a level of cohesion and cooperation amongst themselves that was truly remarkable and more typical of the dynamics of a real family where everyone helps everyone whenever they can. A true slice of paradise one step away from the vibrant and busy Medina. Stepping inside Dar Jasmine felt like leaving the whole world behind while keeping it at reach on request. Will definitely be back next time we visit Morocco.
