We were eight adults touring Morocco and stayed overnight in Vancii Hotel.|The first thing I have to say is that after all those riads (ryads) with the narrow and steep stairs, Vancii Hotel was a breath of fresh air-it had LIFTS! Lord, was I pleased! And my knees, thankful.|AC, TV, and other room amenities are the same as in any standard hotel and the better riads, so there is nothing to specifically include here. Beds were comfortable and linen clean (As expected). The room had an attcahed terrace with a water feature and a view I drank in with my eyes. I am really sorry I did not have the time to use the lounger/chair and spend hours just sitting there sipping a drink. |The rooftop terrace was simply FANTASTIC with cushions strewn around (we took off our footwear) ...one could just relax, loll around and food was served there. Lovely!|The main market square was barely 5 minutes away; so that was a major plus.|The only criticism I have is that the drainage (in my room) was not too good in the shower...the pipe was semi blcked and led to minor flooding. So while showering one had to intermittently stop the water to allow the used water to drain; not a very relaxing way to shower. The other 3 rooms we had booked did not have this issue.|The breakfast was meh, nothing to write home about but no complains either.|What greatly impressed me was that while we were waiting for our rented car to reach the Hotel (Parking is not allowed near the hotel), the person at the reception called out one of our Room numbers-it was mine. She showed me a Whatsapp photo...it was my nightie which I had left hanging in the bathroom. They confirmed and then, handed it over to me. I was really happy to retrieve it. Full marks for being alert and quick to address the situation.|Bottomline. Vancii Hotel is a standard, no-fuss modern hotel suitable for tourists and the business...

The hotel was the nicest we have stayed at so far. The views from our windows were interesting and beautiful.
The city is blue and white. Stairways to homes sometimes painted with vibrant blue. Very nice.
Unlike the United States where people go to great lengths to provide precise paint lines, blemish-free painted surfaces, and ornate decorative objects and sculptures to exude refinement. Here in Morocco privacy and consideration for the less well to do, is of great importance. The outside of buildings are intentionally roughly formed. Yet there is a cultural beauty.
Excellent walk-in shower, hot water, and water pressure.
Breakfast had many choices, bread related, eggs, cheeses, tomatoes…
Only one TV channel, a YouTube News channel piped to every room. However, I found I enjoyed listening to world and Morocco news.
We found it easier to go to the local bank down the street, and exchange Euros or USD to Moroccan DURO.
Everyone uses DURO and DURO looks a lot like Euro, 10 DURO to 1 Euro and we used too much energy trying not to insult shop keepers.
No handicapped access at all. This seems to be common throughout Morocco. Beautiful country, interesting history, but expect to use steps and...
Read moreHotel is modern. We had two rooms. One was a suite so was lovely and spacious with nice facilities. The standard triple was tiny however with barely enough space to walk between beds. Due to location some rooms are very noisy depending on where in hotel. The corridors smelled of cigarette smoke. The breakfast was very disappointing. We had stayed in 5 other hotels/riads and got used to lovely breakfasts so this buffet was a shock. There was one small coffee jug (suitable for an individual table) for the whole hotel so of course it was constantly empty. After asking them to refill it we then had no coffee cups. Same problem with cutlery so we also had to ask for spoons as well as glasses for juice. The food itself was ok but pretty uninspiring. It was also a battle to find a clean table. Tens of tables were waiting to be cleared. I tried to give feedback to reception as we left expecting them to say ‘sorry we were short staffed today’ or something but instead they just looked at me with surprise as though they could see no...
