A Memorable Stay at Funky Fes Hostel, Thanks to Yassine's Warm Welcome!

From the moment I arrived, it was evident that this hostel is not just a place to stay, but a home away from home. The true highlight of my stay, however, was the warm welcome and exceptional service provided by Yassine, the hostel's manager. From the very first greeting, Yassine's genuine warmth and friendliness made me feel instantly at ease. His passion for ensuring that guests have an unforgettable experience is truly remarkable and he's always ready to assist with any questions or needs you may have. Whether it's recommendations for local attractions, tips on where to find the best Moroccan cuisine, or just engaging in a friendly chat, Yassine is there to make your stay exceptional.

Beyond the exceptional hospitality, the Funky Fes Hostel is a hidden gem in the heart of the vibrant city of Fes. The hostel's quirky and vibrant decor adds to the overall charm, making it a unique and cozy place to stay. The rooms are comfortable, clean. The common areas are a fantastic place to meet fellow travelers, share stories, and forge new friendships. The bathrooms and common areas are well-maintained, and you can tell that the staff, thank you Samira, takes great pride in keeping the...

I spent about 4 days here and had a wonderful time right from the get-go, My friend and I were lucky enough to be checked-in by the very kind and hilarious volunteer Lucia who had us laughing and feeling good after a tiring day of travel. Beautiful murals adorn the walls, beautiful people fill the terrace. Elegant bathrooms throughout with hot water and a guest kitchen with fridge that is more than adequate for simple meals. 50dh for the family dinner. Included breakfast of eggs, bread and vegetables with coffee and tea. The staff of volunteers were friendly if understandingly a little preoccupied with their own volunteer family affairs and burgeoning relationships. I met and talked to wonderful people here from all over the world, mostly while smoking Moroccos biggest export on the expansive terrace. A great place to meet people, Funky Fez succeeds in maintaining a perfect environment to socialize with other travellers.

Protip: There is one top bunk bed in the room Agadir that unfortunately seems to be made of Cardboard so avoid...

Disappointing experience. The place is run by volunteers that barely have a clue about what is where. I'm not sure if this was because of the festival Eid and the manager/owner was probably away. We paid higher for a room with fewer beds and AC only to find out (after checking in) the AC does not work. After struggling for about 45 minutes and deciding to clean the filters ourselves, Sameera (extremely sweet and helpful) fixed the issue swiftly. The bathrooms were dirty and kitchen was filthy - the hostel puppy knocked over the bin and the garbage stayed on the floor for atleast 12hrs- maybe more, we checked out by then. No one really cared about maintaining or keeping anything clean. One can easily avoid this hostel.

Sameera was the only good thing! Thanks for all your help and advice for the rest of our...

I had an amazing stay at Funky Fes Hostel! The staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout my visit. The building itself feels royal, with its high ceilings and beautiful architecture, which really added to the experience. The breakfast was tasty, and everything is offered at a very affordable price. The rooms were clean and well-equipped, and the bathrooms were spacious and well-maintained. I appreciated the lockers, though make sure to bring your own padlock. One downside is that the kitchen is unfortunately not available for guests. But since you’re in Morocco, it’s a perfect excuse to eat out and try the delicious street food! Also, I found it a bit closer to Bab Jdid than Bab Rcif if you’re heading out for a walk. Overall, it’s a great place to stay in Fes!
