Do not buy here ! Neither inside Medina ! They will put on their white coat, sit you down to make you feel comfortable, serve you tea to get your trust and make you feel precious to sell you rubbish at the price of gold while playing to be professional and friendly. It's all part of their strategy to fool you and squeeze as much as they can from you. Their so called "natural" soap is full of caustic soda, I used it on my hands twice and severely dried my skin. I then experimented using it for washing old stains from clothes. It cleaned everything! Do not use it on your skin !
If you need argan oil , do not buy it from here or from Medina, it's not pure but a mixture of other cheap oils. I used it on my face and gave me some sort of psoriasis, I have it for 6 weeks now and it's impossible to cure it... Get it from the artisan shops in the new city where the price is fixed and quality guaranteed ( also much lower). Or directly from the cooperatives on the road from Marrakech to Essaouria with the "Bio" logo. A good argan oil shouldn't cost you less than 200 dirhams and no more than 250. Do not buy their eucalyptus crystals as they will give you the black seeds with it as the crystals release smell when in friction... That's pure robbery ! They will charge you for one gram of black seeds the price of a kilogram. Then rapidly throw everything in a basket rushing you to pay so you won't have time to think too much . And finally ... , do not accept the tea and the massage they will offer you "for free " ! Especially if you are a woman! It's not a massage but an opportunity for the guys to put their hands on you and check you out ! And of course they will ask money for them later ! Remember, nothing is for free...
Read moreThe hotel Agnaoue is a very cheap hotel found within the hustle and bustle of Marrakech less than a minute walking distance of the famous Medina Jamaa El Fenna.
The hotel is not very well signed and it is hidden just off the main shopping stretch hence it may require asking a local or the hotel management to locate the exact entrance.
The hotel is sat on the top floor of a (ex) restaurant with the entrance on the left hand side alley way. A flight of steps takes you to the main reception. There is no disabled access and the hotel would not be recommended for anyone who is wheelchair bound.
The reception staff are extremely helpful and polite. They will do whatever is in their capacity to make your stay comfortable and your duration in Marrakech enjoyable. The rooms are very standard considering the price.
The floor is covered in linoleum representing wooden flooring. The beds are metal framed with relative mattresses that are slightly on the hard side. There is minimum furniture in the rooms.
The rooms do however come with very good AC and a television.
The bathroom (for the particular room I lodged in) is very cramped but clean.
Overall the hotel is relatively good considering the price. If you are a planning on staying the night and are budgeting, I would...
Read moreHotel Agnaoue is in a great location, right at the edge of the Souq in Marrakech, which makes it perfect for exploring the vibrant market streets—even late at night. The night vibes around the hotel are lively and safe, with plenty of street shopping options that are surprisingly affordable. It's a great spot if you want to soak in the local atmosphere.
However, there are a few downsides. The hotel doesn’t have wheelchair access or a lift, so it might be difficult for those with mobility issues. The rooms are quite small, and we did face some difficulty communicating with the staff in English. That said, they were polite and tried their best to help. The hotel also has a café which is a nice bonus for grabbing a quick bite or coffee.
Overall, it’s an OK place if you’re looking for a budget stay in a central location with easy access to the Souq and the...
