We stayed at this hotel end of March for a few nights after our tour of Morocco. And it's safe to say I will not be going back and I was advise anyone to avoid this hotel. The first night we arrived we asked about the restaurant and we were told there isn't one but we can go to the kebab shop next door... Okay but this is advertised as having a restaurant. The room was mediocre lumpy bed so I didn't sleep much but I guess its a cheap hotel anyway. My main issue with this place was on the second night we were on a limited budget so decided to buy ourselves a bottle of wine to enjoy as it was half the price what they were selling at the hotel we asked at the bar to borrow a Cork screw which he was happy to open the wine for us so started drinking it by the pool when a very unhappy looking lady walked over and told us to stop drinking it as we can't drink out own alcohol down here. Fair enough so we went upstairs to our room. At this point we then tried to charge our devices which we then realised the sockets were not working we went downstairs and the same lady that told us we can't drink our wine was at the reception we tried explaining to her that the socket wasn't working and she very rudely suggested we try a different cable... We tried telling her we had tried 3 cables 3 plugs and 3 adapters and it was not working. She suggested we could change rooms but could only offer us one with 2 single beds... Even though we booked a double room. She then suggested we plug our devices downstairs and charge them so we asked if we could drunk our wine down here for 30 minutes while we charge our devices to which we were told no but if we want to drunk our wine we can leave our devices downstairs... I was not prepared to do this there seemed to be no compassion or compensation for a room that did not function the way its described. We asked then if the hotel would supply a glass of wine for us as compensation to which the lady behind the counter laughed at us. After 45 minutes they gave us an extension cable!! What good is this if our sockets do not work. In the end we couldn't be bothered anymore as we obviously were not getting anywhere the next day we came in from the pool where the same lady was behind the front desk and was starring at me and my partner making us feel extremely uncomfortable as she clearly moaned about us to her colleagues which is highly unprofessional. Very disappointing experience and I would discourage anyone from...
Read moreI recently stayed at Hotel Kabir Marrakech for a 5-night visit, and while my experience had its ups and downs, I left with a mixed impression of the property.
The first night was unfortunately quite uncomfortable. My room faced the road, and the constant noise from passing traffic made it difficult to get any rest. It was a major disruption, and I found myself quite disappointed at the start of my stay. Thankfully, things improved dramatically after I requested a room change. The staff was understanding, and I was moved to a room facing the opposite direction. From that point on, the remainder of my stay was much more pleasant, as the noise levels were significantly reduced.
One of the highlights of my stay was the evening receptionist, Jihan. She was exceptionally friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed. Abdullah, another staff member, was also very helpful and accommodating, which made a big difference in making me feel more at home.
On the downside, I did feel that the owners, who manage the reception during the day, could benefit from adopting a warmer and more approachable attitude toward customers. While they were efficient in handling tasks like handing out room keys and answering questions, the overall atmosphere was a bit distant. A more engaging and friendly demeanor would certainly enhance the experience for guests.
In conclusion, Hotel Kabir Marrakech offers good value for the price, especially if you can secure a room away from the noisy street. The friendly evening staff, especially Jihan and Abdullah, certainly make the stay more enjoyable, but the daytime reception could use a bit more warmth and hospitality. Would I return? Yes, especially if I could get a quieter room and interact with the evening...
Read moreOne of the most confusing experiences I had in Marrakech, I stayed for 15 days there, so let me descripe for you in details everything, for the good things:
Stuff are super friendly, especially Mrs gihan, Mrs kenza, the guy at the night shift and the security guy Rooms are normal, it give you the basic needs like, good beds, very good air conditioning, cold and hot water, good shower -the pool is very good, clean, cold water in the summer, and the seating is amazing cleaning rooms service is normal Hôtel location is amazing, a lot of restaurants, super markets, bars are beside the hotel, and 24 hrs you can buy anything
For the bad things: there is no water or kettle or any stuff in the room there is no restaurant or breakfast, but if you have a group +20, you can organize breakfast with the hotel some rooms are located at the street side, so it will be noisy if you open the window There is badeh in all the toilets, as this is the alternative for the water tab for washing "you know what"
Finally, I see it give you very good value for the money, and I would recommend it in guilez area if you are looking for the...
