Only one bit of advice about this "hotel" and that's if your British don't ever consider booking this place. Reasons being as follows: We arrived at around 10 p.m. after a long and tiring day with our disabled daughter, clutching our print out for the promo room we had paid for and had confirmed by the hotel and that's where it started to go sour. The male receptionist took one look at our print out and claimed we have a problem, and the problem being they refused to accept our booking and stated " we have not paid enough" to which I replied the booking was paid for and confirmed by yourselves and there was no way I was going to pay another £700 for something I had already paid. Among the varying excuses ranging from the ridiculous to the totally Farsi al. Just to give you a taster of the varying rubbish was the hotel had already contacted Agoda and they should of e/ mailed us with the cancellation. Unfortunately for the hotel I have checked with Agoda and they received no such cancellation and what this person was saying was basically totally untrue. When we refused to pay the "scam" and sign the hastily drafted disclaimer we were basically thrown out in the street, wheelchair and all. Now I will be very careful how I word this review as they smugly claimed they will have any review removed, a pity they didn't have the other dreadful reviews removed as the hotel is absolutely dire. After talking with several locals the hotel is owned by a Moroccan but he leases it to this French rabble, and they have been running this attempted fraud for several months now and they also find this practice distasteful. So to summarise the hotels excuses are as bad as the receptionists personal hygiene as he looked unkept with a week old shirt and greasy hair, not nice. So rest assured they will try to have this review removed but I will keep on posting it again and again so fellow travellers are aware of this disgraceful practice of trying to get large sums of money for basically nothing. Please, please do not go anywhere near this place as my review is bourne out by many others on here. One last thing they claim not to read the reviews on here but I think they do . What a contemptible way you run a business, shame on you all and one thing to remember, bad things happen to bad...
Read moreI recently had an extremely disappointing experience. Despite booking a room with a flexible BAR rate for three nights, I encountered nothing but frustration and inconvenience. Upon arrival, instead of authorizing my card , the receptionist charged it.
The real nightmare began the next day when I had a sudden emergency and needed to depart early. Despite informing the front desk before 10 am to shorten my stay, I was informed that I wouldn't receive a refund. The receptionist tried to assist by calling his manager three times, but the manager refused to speak with me and insisted on keeping my payment as a credit for future stays, which is utterly useless to me as I have no plans to return to Marrakech anytime soon.
To add insult to injury, when I requested a receipt showing that I only stayed one night, they deceitfully manually edited it to show the total for the room and breakfast for three nights, essentially erasing any evidence of my shortened stay. This lack of transparency is appalling.
Despite the commendable politeness and professionalism of FD agent Wadii, the overall handling of the situation by the management was abysmal. It's clear that this establishment prioritizes profit over customer satisfaction and basic decency. Legally, they have no right to withhold payment for services not rendered, especially when I booked a flexible rate.
In conclusion, I am deeply disappointed by the lack of empathy and flexibility displayed by the manager. I am left with no choice but to dispute the transaction with my bank and caution others against staying at this...
Read moreI would really advise against booking with this hotel.
We arrived at 7PM - having booked our room the week prior to be told they didn't have a booking and that the hotel was full. I showed them the booking confirmation and everything and they still claimed there was no booking. They didn't even apologise and told us we had to go somewhere else.
Funnily - ahead of us in the queue for reception was a large group that was having a similar issue with rooms - which was eventually sorted. When it was our turn, the receptionist looked confused and asked us if we were with the big group. It's pretty clear she gave our room to them and then pretended she couldn't find our booking.
Looking at other Google reviews, this doesn't seem to be the first time this has happened either. Obviously, this hotel runs, and people do fill the rooms, so it doesn't happen to everyone - but - there is a chance greater than zero that if you book with them, you'll turn up and they'll turn you away anyway with nowhere else to go. It really isn't worth the potential hassle for what is just a cheap, simple no-frills hotel. There are loads about that won't do this to you.
We ended up going to the Al Kabir just up the road - the staff were really nice and we were actually far happier to spend our money there than here.
Also - just look at how they've replied to other google reviews, it should tell you all you need to know about how they do business. They'll probably write an aggressive and defensive reply to this...
