My stay at Riad Ba Sidi was an extraordinary experience that I will cherish for years to come. Tucked away in the vibrant medina of Marrakech, this riad effortlessly combines elegance with traditional Moroccan hospitality, making it a standout choice for travelers seeking a unique and authentic getaway.
Stunning Architecture and Decor
From the moment I walked through the arched entrance, I was captivated by the beauty of Riad Ba Sidi. The intricate tilework, carved plaster details, and lush greenery in the courtyard create a serene ambiance that feels like a step back in time. The common areas are inviting and beautifully decorated, with comfortable seating that encourages relaxation. Each room tells its own story through carefully curated decor, showcasing local artistry that adds a personal touch to the space.
Comfortable Accommodations
I was fortunate to stay in one of the luxurious suites, which was spacious and tastefully furnished. The blend of traditional elements with modern comforts made it a perfect retreat after a day of exploration. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a restful night’s sleep, while the private bathroom boasted both style and functionality. I appreciated the little touches, like the fragrant oils and plush towels, which enhanced the overall experience.
Exceptional Service
The staff at Riad Ba Sidi truly elevates the experience. Their warm and attentive service made me feel like a valued guest from the very first moment. The manager was incredibly helpful, providing valuable insights about the city and recommending hidden gems that I would have otherwise missed. Whether it was arranging transport or preparing a special meal, their dedication to guest satisfaction was evident at every turn.
Culinary Delights
The dining experience at Riad Ba Sidi was a highlight of my stay. Breakfast each morning featured a delightful assortment of Moroccan pastries, fresh fruit, and traditional dishes, served in the charming dining area. One evening, I indulged in a traditional Moroccan dinner, and it was a feast for the senses. The flavors were rich and authentic, showcasing the culinary heritage of the region. Dining al fresco in the courtyard under the stars was a particularly memorable experience.
Prime Location
The riad's location is another significant advantage. Situated within walking distance of key attractions like the bustling souks, the Koutoubia Mosque, and Jemaa el-Fnaa square, it was easy to immerse myself in the local culture. Despite its central location, the riad remains a peaceful sanctuary, allowing guests to unwind after a day of sightseeing.

Riad Ba Sidi is a true oasis in the heart of Marrakech. With its stunning architecture, impeccable service, and unforgettable culinary offerings, it provides an enriching and relaxing experience for any traveler. I left feeling rejuvenated and inspired, and I wholeheartedly recommend Riad Ba Sidi to anyone looking for an authentic Moroccan escape. I can’t wait to return to this...
Read moreReally good Riad. The location is excellent. Really close to the square, but far enough to feel quite and relaxed inside the Riad. The service is good and the two guys who work on the reception are very friendly, as well as the ladies who does the food and clean the bedrooms. The food is good. We had chicken salad. Just a bit overpriced. Each salad about 75 Dirhams, but you have options close to the hotel with a really good price. The restaurant Cafe des Epices is really close and have a really good salads and Tajine (less than 3 minutes walking) as well as the restaurant NOMAD, but for this one you have to book in advance. The terrace on the top is amazing with a really good pool to relax after exploring the Medina. They sell beer on the Riad, however the beer run out exactly on the weekend and they didn't do any effort to buy more beers for the costumers. Otherwise, if you want a beer, you have to get a taxi and go to Carrefour to buy some because they don't sell beer inside the Medina. The taxi will cost about 50 Dirhams to go and come back. The breakfast is ok, but there is no option of protein and it's the same everyday. Bread, a kind of Moroccan pancakes, jam, tea, coffee, iogurte and orange juice. The hammam is ok, but the room is pretty small. If you are a bit claustrophobic you will feel a bit uncomfortable. I had to go out few times because I was feeling hard to breath inside, but even so I enjoyed the experience because it has a cultural aspect as well. Our bedroom was the Ebene and it's on the last floor, which gives you a good privacy. The room is big as well as the bathroom. The bed is comfortable. Air conditioning is a bit weak, but if it's hit to hot, it will be ok. The room is a bit dark, but this is the Moroccan style. It will be annoying just if you want to read or do something on the computer. The little shops turning right when you leave the Riad are nice to buy souvenir. It's worth it to stay on the...
Read moreExtremely Disappointing – Not Worth the Money Despite the Location|We stayed at Riad Basidi and were honestly very disappointed. The photos online are completely misleading and do not reflect the real condition of the property. The riad is small, poorly maintained, and far from clean.|Upon arrival, we were greeted by a woman – most likely the manager – who asked us to pay the full amount for the stay upfront. After that, we never saw her again. For the rest of our stay, there was only one man running everything: cleaning, breakfast, pool area, guest support… Clearly, he couldn’t manage it all by himself.|Our towels were never changed, not even when we specifically asked. Two of our friends found cockroaches in their room, and when we mentioned this on the last day, we got a simple “sorry,” but not even a symbolic discount – not even on a bottle of water. In fact, we were charged in full for every single bottle of plain water we consumed during the stay.|The pool was very cold, which might be fine for some, but the towels provided were dirty, and we had to ask for clean ones. There was no staff presence around the pool, so every time we wanted something to drink, we had to go downstairs and look for someone. Because of this, we believe the pool area is not safe for small children, as there’s zero supervision.|The only real positive is the central location, which makes it easy to explore the Medina. But there are plenty of other riads in the area that are cleaner, more beautiful, and better managed, often at similar or lower prices.|We would not return and do not recommend Riad Basidi. The place feels neglected, run by just one person doing his best, but clearly unable to offer a proper guest experience on his own. Overall, our stay was far from...
