My husband and I just returned from our trip in Marrakech, and out of the seven different accommodations we had stayed in Morocco - I can confidently say that Riad Al Mamoune was the riad we were MOST happy with! In my world-traveling experience, I rate hotels based on location, cleanliness, aesthetics, and friendliness of staff and Riad Al Mamoune rated the highest in all of these categories and truly surpassed all of my expectations of a traditional Moroccan style home converted hotel.
Location: Riad Al Mamoune is just a few minutes walking distance from all of the famous tourist attractions in the Medina of Marrakech. The location is very central and you can visit the Jemaa el-Fnaa square, secret garden, the spice market, all the souks, the hammam, restaurants, and cafes in just a few minutes of walking. The riad staff will also happily arrange a taxi from and to the airport and are always available to help. Despite being close to all of the tourist attractions, the moment you enter Riad Al Mamoune all of the outside noises disappear and you will have the tranquility of your own home where you get to relax, cool down, and enjoy a cup of fresh mint tea.
Cleanliness: I have dust and pollen allergies so cleanliness of an accommodation is really important. I did not even sneeze once when I was staying here so I know that the cleaning staff here must do their job very well. Every surface I touched in this riad was spotless. The common areas like the courtyard, and the tea/breakfast rooms were also very clean and smelled pleasant. It was the cleanest riad we had stayed at in Marrakech and I cannot compliment them enough for this!
Aesthetics: From the entrance of the riad (Moroccan style wooden door from its original architecture) to the sunny rooftop terrace decorated with plants, the riad has the authentic beauty of a traditional Moroccan home with modern comfort and luxury. Upon entering the riad, you will see a beautifully decorated open-air courtyard full of live plants with a traditional plunge pool. The furniture, the tiles, the handcrafted artisan decor and the overall aesthetics of Riad Al Mamoune are very stylish and you could tell that the staff put great care and love in this place. The spacious room we stayed in was a traditional bedouin style room with a fireplace, a smart TV, a fast wi-fi, a comfortable couch, AC, and a large bed spacious for two. It was the perfect mix of traditional beauty meets modern comfort. The bathroom was really clean and the shower/hot water was top-notch as well. We loved the traditional Moroccan furniture and lamps in our room and we slept very comfortably.
Friendliness: Asad and Abdul (employees of Riad Al Mamoune) were attentive from the start and were super accommodating the entirety of our stay. They have amazing personalities and are super easy to talk to. They will have a friendly answer to any question you may have about the Marrakech and the country of Morocco so as first-time visitors we greatly benefited from their familiarity with Marrakech. We found their knowledge really valuable in navigating through a new city and learning about Morocco’s rich history and culture. They know Marrakech and Morocco like the back of their hand and will give you great recommendations on things to do, where to shop, and what to eat. The friendly staff also served us delicious traditional Moroccan breakfasts with fresh ingredients and freshly brewed Moroccan mint teas and coffees. Asad and Abdul will treat you like part of their family during your stay and we will forever cherish the conversations we had with them over their fresh mint teas. We were able to enjoy Marrakech to the fullest with Asad and Abdul’s help. I cannot thank them enough for their hospitality and friendship.
Needless to say, my husband and I will DEFINITELY choose Riad Al Mamoune again without hesitation when we come back to Marrakech in the near future. I would really give this riad and the people who work there a million, trillion...

One of the highlights of my stay at Riad al Mamoune was the time that Asab dedicated to showing my sister and me around on our last day. He generously gave us three hours of his precious time to take us to some of his favorite spots in the city. It was clear that he was passionate about sharing his love for Marrakech with us, and we felt incredibly lucky to have him as our guide. We saw some incredible sights and tasted some delicious food, all thanks to Asab's knowledge and enthusiasm.

Read moreFirst off, I need to commend both Asad and Abdul for their absolutely ‘above & beyond’ hosting & hospitality during my solo short stay in Marrakech for a wedding. I only stayed at Riad Al Mamoune for one night before the festivities wanting to have the opportunity to spend time in the Medina. I booked my collection from the airport through Asad and was so happy to be greeted at the edge of Medina by the friendly, world and knowledgeable, Abdul who took my bags and guided me through the hustle and bustle of the market lanes (of which one would get lost in, first time) & giving me a guided tour at the same time.
I arrived in time for supper at the Riad, which was a delicious traditional fayre of Morrocan delights as well as some lovely deep chats with Abdul. The Riad itself is homely, beautiful with intricate historical design… the energy there is calm, serene and welcoming. My room was very comfortable, well thought out, beautifully decorated and clean. Either Asad & Abdul seemed to be always on hand to accompany you out of the Riad and to wherever you needed to go locally or at the end of the phone if you needed help.
I found out when going to draw cash at an ATM that my Visa debit card wouldn’t work. It seems only credit cards are accepted which left me pretty much stranded without cash. However, Asad was able to help me out by exchanging cash via my PayPal. Life Saver. He also was on hand to meet me close to where the wedding had been held when I had lost the my cash & couldn’t afford the taxi back to the Medina even though it was his day off. Luckily, I was able to borrow from a friend and do another PayPal exchange once I was back.
Nothing was too much as Asad also booked me in to get my nails done a great salon outside of the medina and also for a Hamman on my return to the medina post wedding. I would have like to have stayed at Riad Al Mamoune on my last night but they were full so I stayed at the next door Riad but Asad & Abdul continued to take care of me still & also organised my transfer back to the airport.
I only have the most amazing things to say about my experience, even on such a short stay. I felt cared for & treated like I was family. I felt safe and well thought of. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend anyone else to go and do the same. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Asad & Abdul for all your help, care and energy. I wish you both many blessings for you and...
