Everything and I mean, everything was five stars. We had no issue. This place is such a gem hidden right in the centre of Marrakesh from start to finish. The location is within walking distance to get lost in true souks or be more direct with the close by tourist spots of Marrakech all within walking distance. The staff and host were so so so helpful, kind and warm. We felt very safe and our Tan Tan room was so authentic, cozy and just right for our short stay! Asad and Abdul went above and beyond to give us a once in a life time experience and were so accommodating in celebrating my friends 27th birthday, including sourcing a cake just for the occasion. The food was delightful with breakfast included. The facilities were accesible, the terrace showing off a banner of the constellations at night and the general atmosphere of the Riad felt like home- so comfortable. Should you need anything, Asad is on hand and answers within minutes via message and has the best tips and advices AND will take time out of his day to venture around marrakesh and show you the best it has to offer, with the extra touch that he is a photographer- so you can even get some holiday, professional photos done free of charge for your keep sake- he is both super friendly, patient and generous with the space and his time. Oh… and Abdul, he is always dotting somewhere around the Riad and should you bump into him, is completely adorable and is so knowledgeable on the culture, he is spirited, and absolutely hilarious, like a jovial father figure! We will miss him. The other staff were also sweet and the food made by the chef on our first night was so tasty and homemade. The website is a gold mine and came handy for our few days and no idea exactly what we wanted to do- it is easy to navigate and has plenty of ideas and excursions linked to the main page - which I totally recommend. Our one night excursion to the desert in Zagora was organised through the Riad, and we were two out of ten on our tour bus who were given the most luxe treatment from start to finish - all down to those at the Riad sourcing and seeking out the best of the best for their customers who stay with them. We are already planning a trip back and have no doubt/ do not even need to hesitate on choosing to stay at Riad al Mamoune again. Our hearts are warm with sandy desert air and lots of memories from this stay! Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou! 🇲🇦🌄💌🐫🌞👯‍♀️

I recently stayed at Al Mamoune, and can honestly say that in the 7-8 times I’ve visited Marrakech, I have never been received and welcomed with so much warmth and care as I did here. Asad (owner extraordinaire!) arranged for a car to pick me up from the airport, taking me straight to the main square, where I was immediately met by Abdul (Al Mamoune’s guide and evening caretaker, with the knowledge of an encyclopaedia M’A!) who walked me through Jma el Fna, carrying my bag till Asad met us. It was so kind of Asad to stick around till that time to personally welcome me and take me into the historic 16th century riad, only minutes from the bustling souks. The proximity of the property to the main hub of the medina couldn’t be more perfect. Asad ensured I was properly acquainted with the route to / back to the riad, had a delicious snack waiting for me with freshly made mint tea, fitted a local sim into my phone and, along with Abdul, got me checked in and settled into my room without a hitch. Breakfast was perfect- coffee / tea, freshly baked (in-house) cake, fruit, compotes, inc. homemade fig jam (delicious!) and traditional ‘khubz’ bread. Upon check-out, I was not only given a very good city map, but was personally walked to my next riad (where I met my family who had also stayed a night at Al Mamoune prior to my arrival and couldn’t thank Asad enough for his hospitality), while Asad pointed out places of interest on the way. He was so thoughtful to understand very quickly what I might be curious to go see, and even took me into a traditional hammam, as well as a ‘ferrane’ (community furnace where bread is baked) so I could see it first hand! No one takes such time and interest in their guests and even when my family and I left Al Mamoune, Asad made sure that if we needed anything during our stay in Marrakech then he was just a phone call away. Suffice to say, we have made a real friend in Asad, and if anyone is looking for a comfortable, budget friendly and affordable riad to stay in, where you will be greatly looked after, I cannot recommend Al Mamoune enough! Looking forward to visiting again soon. Thank you Asad, Br Abdul and team for helping me with all my (last min!) requests and looking after us as a family ! :-)

Trip stay: October 2024. Trip length: 7 days. This was my first trip to Morocco and my choice of accommodation turned out to be the best! The staff at Riad Al Mamoune was responsive from the moment I made my reservation. Asad, the proprietor, answered all my questions, sent me links to excursions to consider and set up seemless airport transfers. I was escorted by the house manager, Abdul, to my early morning excursions meet up points in the main square of the Medina. This as a older solo female traveler this accomodation was essential. The walkways in the morning through the medina are pitch black. Abdul was the friendly face I saw daily. He prepared breakfast and was a plethora of information about the history of the medina and Marrakesh. Abdul met me in the medina when I arrived and as we walked to the riyad he pointed out trusted money exchange locations and pointed out landmarks to remember as we walked to make sure when I ventured out alone that I would be able to find my way back to the riyad. The back of business card also has simple directions with landmarks to use as a guide. (I must say I was thankful google maps worked in the medina so if i did get turned it was another helpful tool at my finger tips). Asad also gave great suggestions as to places to eat and places in Marrakesh not to miss based on my interest. Both gentlemen provided me with tips on what to avoid and how to stay safe! Their support made this solo adventurer feel safe and secure in this totally new exciting environment. The accommodations offered at this traditional Riyad felt like a wonderous step back in time. Beautiful tile work, wood work, furnishings and artwork infused with large green palms, huge sun roof that provided extra natural daylight and roof top oasis made all the difference. I stayed in the junior suite and I was not dissapointed. Traditionally but well appointed, but to be honest at my age the most important thing was the clean comfortable bed! Daily house keeping was included. The pictures provided on the website are totally accurate. With all being said I highly recommend Riyad Al Mamoune if you plan to stay in the historical quarter of Marrakesh. You won't be dissapointed.

My husband and I just returned from our trip in Marrakech, and out of the seven different accommodations we had stayed in Morocco - I can confidently say that Riad Al Mamoune was the riad we were MOST happy with! In my world-traveling experience, I rate hotels based on location, cleanliness, aesthetics, and friendliness of staff and Riad Al Mamoune rated the highest in all of these categories and truly surpassed all of my expectations of a traditional Moroccan style home converted hotel.

Location: Riad Al Mamoune is just a few minutes walking distance from all of the famous tourist attractions in the Medina of Marrakech. The location is very central and you can visit the Jemaa el-Fnaa square, secret garden, the spice market, all the souks, the hammam, restaurants, and cafes in just a few minutes of walking. The riad staff will also happily arrange a taxi from and to the airport and are always available to help. Despite being close to all of the tourist attractions, the moment you enter Riad Al Mamoune all of the outside noises disappear and you will have the tranquility of your own home where you get to relax, cool down, and enjoy a cup of fresh mint tea.

Cleanliness: I have dust and pollen allergies so cleanliness of an accommodation is really important. I did not even sneeze once when I was staying here so I know that the cleaning staff here must do their job very well. Every surface I touched in this riad was spotless. The common areas like the courtyard, and the tea/breakfast rooms were also very clean and smelled pleasant. It was the cleanest riad we had stayed at in Marrakech and I cannot compliment them enough for this!

Aesthetics: From the entrance of the riad (Moroccan style wooden door from its original architecture) to the sunny rooftop terrace decorated with plants, the riad has the authentic beauty of a traditional Moroccan home with modern comfort and luxury. Upon entering the riad, you will see a beautifully decorated open-air courtyard full of live plants with a traditional plunge pool. The furniture, the tiles, the handcrafted artisan decor and the overall aesthetics of Riad Al Mamoune are very stylish and you could tell that the staff put great care and love in this place. The spacious room we stayed in was a traditional bedouin style room with a fireplace, a smart TV, a fast wi-fi, a comfortable couch, AC, and a large bed spacious for two. It was the perfect mix of traditional beauty meets modern comfort. The bathroom was really clean and the shower/hot water was top-notch as well. We loved the traditional Moroccan furniture and lamps in our room and we slept very comfortably.

Friendliness: Asad and Abdul (employees of Riad Al Mamoune) were attentive from the start and were super accommodating the entirety of our stay. They have amazing personalities and are super easy to talk to. They will have a friendly answer to any question you may have about the Marrakech and the country of Morocco so as first-time visitors we greatly benefited from their familiarity with Marrakech. We found their knowledge really valuable in navigating through a new city and learning about Morocco’s rich history and culture. They know Marrakech and Morocco like the back of their hand and will give you great recommendations on things to do, where to shop, and what to eat. The friendly staff also served us delicious traditional Moroccan breakfasts with fresh ingredients and freshly brewed Moroccan mint teas and coffees. Asad and Abdul will treat you like part of their family during your stay and we will forever cherish the conversations we had with them over their fresh mint teas. We were able to enjoy Marrakech to the fullest with Asad and Abdul’s help. I cannot thank them enough for their hospitality and friendship.

Needless to say, my husband and I will DEFINITELY choose Riad Al Mamoune again without hesitation when we come back to Marrakech in the near future. I would really give this riad and the people who work there a million, trillion...

If you're planning a trip to Marrakech and looking for a place to stay that offers a unique blend of traditional Moroccan architecture and modern amenities, look no further than Riad al Mamoune. From the moment I arrived, I knew I was in for a special experience.

One of the standout features of Riad al Mamoune is the incredible hospitality of its staff. Asad and Abdul, in particular, went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable and memorable. They were always available to answer any questions I had and provide helpful recommendations for things to see and do in the city. Their warmth and kindness truly made me feel like a welcome guest, rather than just a paying customer.

The rooms at Riad al Mamoune are equally impressive. Each one is uniquely decorated with beautiful Moroccan tile work, intricate carvings, and luxurious fabrics. The attention to detail is truly remarkable, and it's clear that a lot of thought and care went into creating each space. Whether you're looking for a cozy retreat or a spacious suite, there's a room at Riad al Mamoune that will suit your needs.

Beyond the rooms, there are plenty of other amenities that make Riad al Mamoune a fantastic place to stay. The courtyard is lovely, with a tranquil fountain and lush greenery that make it feel like a peaceful oasis in the heart of the bustling city.

All in all, I can't recommend Riad al Mamoune highly enough. Asad and Abdul are truly the kindest people I met during my travels, and the rooms are stunning. If you're looking for a unique and memorable place to stay in Marrakech, this is definitely the place to book.

In addition to their exceptional hospitality, Asab and Abdul at Riad al Mamoune are also fantastic resources for anyone visiting Marrakech. They were always willing to offer suggestions for places to see and eat, and their recommendations never disappointed. Whether you're looking for a hidden gem or a well-known spot, they have plenty of ideas to help you make the most of your time in the city.

One of the highlights of my stay at Riad al Mamoune was the time that Asab dedicated to showing my sister and me around on our last day. He generously gave us three hours of his precious time to take us to some of his favorite spots in the city. It was clear that he was passionate about sharing his love for Marrakech with us, and we felt incredibly lucky to have him as our guide. We saw some incredible sights and tasted some delicious food, all thanks to Asab's knowledge and enthusiasm.

Overall, my experience at Riad al Mamoune was truly unforgettable. From the stunning rooms to the incredible hospitality of Asab and Abdul, every aspect of my stay exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend this riad to anyone looking for a unique and memorable place to stay in Marrakech.

Asab and Abdul, we miss you and can't wait to meet you again!!! Thanks for being such...

First off, I need to commend both Asad and Abdul for their absolutely ‘above & beyond’ hosting & hospitality during my solo short stay in Marrakech for a wedding. I only stayed at Riad Al Mamoune for one night before the festivities wanting to have the opportunity to spend time in the Medina. I booked my collection from the airport through Asad and was so happy to be greeted at the edge of Medina by the friendly, world and knowledgeable, Abdul who took my bags and guided me through the hustle and bustle of the market lanes (of which one would get lost in, first time) & giving me a guided tour at the same time.

I arrived in time for supper at the Riad, which was a delicious traditional fayre of Morrocan delights as well as some lovely deep chats with Abdul. The Riad itself is homely, beautiful with intricate historical design… the energy there is calm, serene and welcoming. My room was very comfortable, well thought out, beautifully decorated and clean. Either Asad & Abdul seemed to be always on hand to accompany you out of the Riad and to wherever you needed to go locally or at the end of the phone if you needed help.

I found out when going to draw cash at an ATM that my Visa debit card wouldn’t work. It seems only credit cards are accepted which left me pretty much stranded without cash. However, Asad was able to help me out by exchanging cash via my PayPal. Life Saver. He also was on hand to meet me close to where the wedding had been held when I had lost the my cash & couldn’t afford the taxi back to the Medina even though it was his day off. Luckily, I was able to borrow from a friend and do another PayPal exchange once I was back.

Nothing was too much as Asad also booked me in to get my nails done a great salon outside of the medina and also for a Hamman on my return to the medina post wedding. I would have like to have stayed at Riad Al Mamoune on my last night but they were full so I stayed at the next door Riad but Asad & Abdul continued to take care of me still & also organised my transfer back to the airport.

I only have the most amazing things to say about my experience, even on such a short stay. I felt cared for & treated like I was family. I felt safe and well thought of. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend anyone else to go and do the same. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Asad & Abdul for all your help, care and energy. I wish you both many blessings for you and...
