I recently stayed at Hotel Anuttara in Kathmandu and was honestly positively surprised by how good the overall experience was. The room was clean, comfortable and just felt well taken care of, not like one of those places where they rush through housekeeping and you immediately notice it. Everything was tidy, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was in great condition and it all had a calm and pleasant atmosphere that made it easy to settle in.
What really made the stay stand out, though, was the service. The staff in general were friendly and welcoming, but I want to mention Sandhya in particular. She was exceptionally attentive and genuinely kind in a way you don’t see very often anymore. She noticed small details without me having to ask, reacted quickly to requests and always remained polite and professional. Her attitude alone would be a reason for me to choose this hotel again, because it simply adds a level of quality you can’t fake.
The location of the hotel is convenient as well — easy to reach different parts of the city, but still quiet and relaxed once you’re inside. That combination is not common in Kathmandu.
Altogether, Hotel Anuttara really delivered exactly what you hope for when booking a stay: a comfortable room, a calm atmosphere and service that actually feels like real hospitality. I can fully recommend this place, and I would...
Read moreMe and my son stayed in a double bed deluxe room at the Hotel Anuttara during 8-10 June 2025. As soon as we reported at the reception, noting that we are father and son duo, they have readily and quickly accommodated us in a deluxe room with two single beds. Anuttara is situated in a very pleasant locality in Kathmandu and is really close to the Boudhanath temple. There was much to walk about nearby, and enjoy the spiritual atmosphere, food, and the gift shops. The Hotel staff are extraordinarily courteous, caring and polite. The room, the furnishings, the comfortable beds, very clean linen and toilet space made us feel important as well as very satisfied. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel for two days. The choice of the vegetarian food, the quality and taste were very much to our liking. We were served with great courtesy in very pleasant ambience, and even the chef visited to enquire about our preferences and what extra requirements we may have. The staff at the reception are ever prompt, courteous and pleasant. All in all, it was certainly a joyful and very satisfying experience to have stayed at the Hotel Anuttara, and we will cherish the stay for a very long time to come. Our gratitude and best wishes to all the staff and management of the...
Read moreOverall, everything was good in this hotel — the food, the service, the front office staff, and the beautiful Stupa view from the room. The only thing I didn’t like was the attitude of one person, whom I believe is the housekeeping manager. While the room was being cleaned, I asked him for help with my luggage. He responded rudely, saying, “That’s not our job, we don’t have a bell boy here.” I then called reception, and two ladies came to assist. Even during check-in, there were only two girls at the front desk. When I asked for the bell boy, they said they would handle it themselves. At first, I thought they were bell girls, but later I realized they were actually receptionists. Still, they helped us with a great attitude, both during check-in and again at check-out — even though it wasn’t their responsibility. I truly appreciate their effort. I don’t want to give this hotel just 1 star because of one person. The rest of the staff were very kind and helpful. But the housekeeping manager’s behavior was disappointing. He really needs to improve his attitude, and I suggest the hotel management train him properly on how to behave and perform in the...
