save yourself the headache of poor customer service, dirty carpets and hot rooms. i booked ozo for a single night stay as i'd be traveling cross country the next morning, or so i thought. around 3am i woke out of my sleep sweating, surprised as i'd turned the air con on before slipping off to sleep. to my surprise the air con only blows out heated air. i contacted the front desk, the receptionist andrew came up to check and said i should give it another 30 minutes to see if things cool off. 30 minutes later, hot heat and no sleep for me. he then said he would extend my stay for the inconvenience. i should receive a call shortly. i did not receive a call shortly. i instead called and talked to the rudest woman. she told me i hadn't talked to andrew and he hadn't checked my room and there was nothing that could be done and there wasn't a manager i could speak with. she then came to my room and pressed a few buttons on the pad and decided since she could hear air, all was well. i then explained to her yes air is moving, no the air is not cool or cold. she just glared at me and said nothing else could be done. i told her i'd be turning off the unit as it's heat and the room is sweltering. can i at least have another room so i can attempt rest before my travels? no, nothing can be done. i reached out to the company i booked the hotel with and they tried for one whole hour before they were able to reach someone. this someone said the best they could do is refund me the €3.10 city tax. i called and asked if i could have a late checkout so i could try to get a few hours of rest. she begrudgingly obliged and said she would alert housekeeping so they wouldn't disturb me. i made sure the do not disturb was armed and attempted to rest. no less than three times housekeeping entered my room, turned the lights on and then announced themselves. the one person that knocked did so five minutes before my checkout time and had an awful attitude when i asked could he not see the do not disturb?
before leaving i went to the front desk to inquire about housekeeping entering my room so many times only to find out the rude woman hadn't actually entered any notes. she'd purposely sabotaged my rest.
vengeful staff is the last thing you want to deal with when booking a hotel for rest.
this place is a dump. they do not offer customer centered solutions and i wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, under any circumstances. also it's in the middle of nowhere and nothing.
be kind to yourself, book a different hotel. any hotel, even a hostel would be...
Read moreCheck-In was easy and fast. But as soon as we arrived at our room, the card didn't work. One of the housekeepers saw us struggling and instantly came over and opened the door with his master key, he then went downstairs to get someone to solve the problem. Few minutes later, someone else arrived with a new card (which didn't work as well), we explained the problem and he told us he would send someone to repair the lock. Someone else arrived but couldn't fix it, so he also told us they would find a solution. About 1.5 hours later (noone came back), we wanted to leave, as I closed the door I just wanted to double check if it was closed. I could open the door without our card, it was just open. So we went downstairs, got a new card and now it worked. I don't know why the solution seemed to be so easy yet it took them some time to fix it, but everyone was really nice and helpful throughout every interaction. The next day our safe suddenly didn't open with our stuff locked inside and we didn't have any hot water for our shower. We went downstairs and told the receptionist, who was very understanding and apologetic. She went upstairs, opened the safe and told us she would get someone to fix the hot water problem. When we came back in the afternoon, we could finally take a cozy, warm shower :) I know that things like that happen and we would never complain if just one of these things happened. It was just a bit too much for our short stay. Nevertheless, staff was very kind and they never reacted negatively in any way.
The room itself was totally fine, but to me, the bathroom didn't seem to be too clean. I saw some hair (definitely not ours) lying on the floor and the sink and mirror didn't seem to be properly cleaned. There is a gap between the shower door and the shower wall, so if you don't take care, there's some water in the bathroom after your shower. The bathroom walls are, as others have already stated, milk glass and the door doesn't go all the way up to the ceiling. For people who aren't that close this might be weird but to be honest, we didn't care about that at all.
The metro station is really close by with a connection straight to the city centre.
Overall, for our short stay and us basically only sleeping here (while spending our days exploring Amsterdam), the hotel was absolutely fine!
Note: The price, compared to other hotels in Amsterdam, was really good! Especially because we booked very...
Read moreI made a reservation at this hotel approximately one month before my trip to Amsterdam, where I was headed for a work event. Although I hadn’t previously stayed in this particular area of Amsterdam, I’m no stranger to the city, having stayed in numerous hotels during past visits without any issues.
To start I needed to cancel due to personal reasons. I reached out to Trip.com to inquire about amending or canceling my hotel reservation, mainly because I had accidentally booked two hotels (pay on arrival), and no charges had been made. I also inquired about rescheduling my operation date, as I was informed that nothing could be done regarding my hotel booking. This created a significant amount of stress, as you can imagine.
Additionally, I requested a room with two separate beds, as I was traveling with a work colleague who would be sharing the room. However, upon our arrival, we were given a room with a double bed instead.
On the day we were due to arrive, our flight was canceled due to technical issues with the plane. We promptly contacted the hotel to inform them that this was beyond our control and that we would be accommodated on a flight the following day, which would leave us with only one night in the hotel, despite having originally booked for two nights. However, upon our arrival, it seemed as though the hotel was unaware of this situation. We were informed that we were still required to pay for two nights, amounting to nearly €500 not including breakfast or dinner. The receptionist’s attitude was rather condescending and sarcastic, which only added to our frustration.
I had read reviews about this hotel before my stay but assumed that our experience might differ. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The hotel’s location was inconvenient, and the decor appeared outdated and poorly maintained. The bed had stains. Our room had damp marks, and the heating system didn’t function properly.
Overall, my stay at this hotel left me extremely disappointed. In fact, I ended up booking an alternative hotel, the Holiday Inn, which provided an incredible experience at a much lower price point. The stark contrast between the two accommodations only highlighted the shortcomings of my stay at the...
