My family has been coming to Sea Palace since the 1990s. We own a week in two adjacent units covering the oceanside half of the building and have seen the place and service steadily decline year after year while associated fees have steadily increased. This last visit was the final straw.||Check-out is at 10am, and we were traveling with two elderly women—one with dementia and both nearly 80 years old with mobility challenges. I asked the night desk person for a late checkout and was told it was fine. There was ample opportunity for staff to communicate any conditions or problems, but they either chose not to or just made up the rules on the fly. Because they had not communicated any problems, we proceeded as though there would not be any. The next morning I checked in with the front desk around 9:30am and was told abruptly that a late checkout was not available because someone was due to arrive at 4pm. Note--rooms are rarely ready on time.||The same woman at the front desk (who is consistently rude every year) said they only have one person to clean the entire building. That actually explains a lot: the rooms aren’t very clean to begin with, the bathrooms are outdated, the water pressure is low, and you rarely get a hot shower.||They charged us $50 for late checkout—even though their cleaner hadn’t even started on our second room. Despite paying an additional $50 we were pushed out as quickly as they could get us out. We consolidated into one unit to help move things along, but it still wasn’t enough. When I asked why no one had let us know that late checkout wouldn’t be honored, I was told by the same desk clerk that the night staff had told "several people" to ask again in the morning—which was not true. The clerk was incredibly dismissive with the standard “that was a miscommunication.” Typically when someone is interested in keeping your business miscommunicates and it negatively impacts you, they try to make it right. This place could not care in the least and made their miscommunication our problem and offered nice, cheap words.||Other issues:||-Loud music blasts until early morning|-Toilets frequently clog|-Ants in the units|-They don’t want to provide extra towels or toilet paper|-You’re expected to launder your own towels so they can charge you more for electricity|-Speaking of which, we once witnessed another guest showing photos of his meter to prove he was being overcharged|-Parking is in a animal-feces-filled and rubble lot and you still pay a fee|-The beach behind the hotel has a 2-foot drop, which makes it difficult to navigate for small kids and older adults. It’s just not the place it once was. They are clearly not investing in upgrades nor customer experience improvements.||If you’re thinking of staying here: DON’T. Spend a little more and stay somewhere where they treat guests with respect and actually value...
Read moreI arrived in St. Maarten in May of 2019. It was a very pleasant trip and the staff were very courteous . Access to the board walk was excellent. I found a food shop around the corner from the resort and purchased breakfast. The Chinese food place on the premises was a plus. I walked the board walk and found another place to purchase food that I really wanted which was a cheeseburger and fries it was delicious. I was elated that I could sit on the balcony and just enjoy the sites and listen to the music and also watch the cruise ships come into port. I found shops where I purchased items to bring back home as a reminder of my trip. The people were very friendly I found a sign on the board walk with a sign that says I love St. Maarten and met some people from Philadelphia who took my pictures .. We did a tour of the island with Happy Harold and we stopped at a food establishment and had some of the best barbecue. The tour was great. We also did a tour on a boat and toured the island and I did see some sea turtles. The water was so clear and the Captain and his staff were very courteous. I watched the people on the boat snorkeling . I passed on that but all in all I had a great time. The staff inside the Sea Palaces Resort were very friendly and they talked with me and told me places to go and things to see on the island. I would lived to visit St. Maarten again. The room was lovely and spacious and had all the things that I needed to be comfortable during my stay. .The mountain side and the homes where beautiful and the colors were fabulous. It was an a trip that I will talk about this trip for a long time because it is a beautiful place to visit and the people are...
Read moreFriends had told me about St. Marteen, so I decided to go for my birthday celebration. Let me tell you, my experience was nothing short of Incredible!!! Without Sasha from the Sea Palace Resort, none of this would have happened. The Sea Palace Resort is located directly on the port with a spectacular view of the ocean. Warm turquoise water, ocean wind, and absolute tranquility are all just feet away. Sasha was there from the moment I arrived, going above and beyond to ensure that my entire trip and experience was the best it could be. First and foremost, my accommodation was a Suite, which was exceptionally spacious and comfortable, replete with a washer/dryer, a fully equipped kitchen with silverware/glassware, cooking equipment, and even a dishwasher. It was gorgeously decorated with rose petals and balloons, and it made me cry happy tears😊. Sasha was always ready to answer questions, make recommendations for things to do on the island, and assist with transportation. She even went above and beyond by arranging for a nurse to come to the resort and administer covid tests for guests for their return travels home. To be honest, I had entirely forgotten about covid testing (laughs), but Sasha was keeping track of everything, which I truly appreciated. Because of the fantastic experience I had in St. Marteen, I decided to leave my heart❤️😍 there, as a result, Sasha, St. Marteen, and Sea Palace, I shall be seeing you soon😘😍. Thank you for the...
