Only Cantonese dimsum restaurant on the island. All items were handmade and of great quality. Coming from New York, we were pleasantly surprised at the quality. Also ordered Singapore noodle and Chinese broccoli in garlic sauce, again good quality ingredients and well executed.
Spoke to Mei the owner who was thrilled to speak with us about her place. She's been running the place 20+ years with her brother and she took it over from the prior owner who did not want the let the place close.
We came back for dinner, to have have fresh seafood. Got freshly caught snow fish (first for us) steamed and in soy ginger and green onion sauce. Also got a 2 lb local fresh lobster done Cantonese style. Rounded out with stir fried choi veggies. Again, very good quality and tasty as heck. We packed what we didn't finish for lunch a day after.
Plenty of folks taking out and folks ordering Americanized Chinese food, which is fine. For those looking for real Cantonese food on the island, this is the place. Highly recommended. Crystal the wait staff was sweet and hardworking.
Forgot to take pictures, we were too...
Read moreHonestly, eating here has ruined Chinese food for me forever. When we go home, it will not be the same at all. We arrived on a Saturday, had car issues, check-in issues, and ended up eating here pretty late our first night because to go anywhere else wasn't in the cards. 2 out of the 4 in our group does not eat Chinese food at all. The food was phenomenal and everyone enjoyed it. We returned 3 more times during the week. Crystal, (sorry about spelling) who served us was also a favorite of the experience, super sweet and quirky, and makes you feel at home the whole time. An absolute sweet heart and with go out of her way to take care of you. Each day, she has been there from the time they opened until the time they closed, and her attitude was always positive, happy as can be with a smile. The other servers just as sweet. The atmosphere is up beat the whole time with music and you can not beat the prices for dinner. 100% recommend stopping here at least once on your trip though SXM. Thank you for the memorable experiences and the pretty good...
Read moreI am American Chinese originally from Hong Kong. This restaurant probably is one of the best Chinese restaurant in the Caribbean for authentic Chinese dishes. The chef is from Hong Kong. We had stir-fire sliced conch, beef hor fun, sweet and sour prawns, and bok choy with garlic. The vegetable was very fresh and all the dishes were prepared in the traditional way instead of the Caribbean Chinese version. It also has a good view of the Great Bay Beach. Definitely going back next time our cruise ship calls into...
