For our trip, we handpicked restaurants with good reviews to try during our stay. Based on previous reviews, we were incredibly disappointed with our experience here from a few weeks ago. We arrived around 2pm to eat a late lunch and had plenty of tables to choose from aside from two that were occupied. We waited around 10 minutes before getting up to locate a menu and waited another 20 minutes before someone came by to take our order. We tried Ceviche Mixto (around $15), a potato dish ($9), and a regular hamburger without a bun. We waited over an hour to receive our food. During this time, two other tables left in frustration for waiting so long with no drinks or food. When we received the ceviche, it was clear that they had mixed old chewy pieces with completely raw pieces of fish that had just been thrown in prior to serving. Scared of potential illness, we didn't continue eating it. The potato dish was cold, tiny, and had a velveeta-y sauce on top. Certainly not worth $9. The hamburger was full of gristle and tasted like old grease. In addition, the ketchup packets on the plate were coated in old soggy bread (one was partially ripped), which makes me suspect that unused packets on dirty plates are kept for the next dish. We picked at the fries, paid, and left. The length of time we had wasted there as well as the demeanor of the staff had killed any desire to stay for replacement food...
Read moreI give this place 5 stars as the best Peruvian food in St Maartin. To start with the location is amazing- on the beach in the heart of Phillipsburg. But unlike its neighbors there is lots of shade while still feeling open and airy. The papa de la huacaina was perfect. The chicha morada was authentic. The ceviche was super fresh. Everything there was fresh and prepared with care. The owners and staff were all lovely and attentive. The food is not as spicy as 'peruvian peruvian', but that is the only thing that did not make me feel like I was in Lima. Dont miss...
Read moreService was really slow, even though they weren't really busy. They never gave us a botana to begin with, but the clients afterward did get one. Food is overpriced for the quality and small portions they give you. Whatever you do, don't order appetizers here, not worth the price. Also, they charged us regular price for our drinks although it was happy hour. Try somewhere else. We've had much better food than this, sadly. You can still get the view by walking down...
