Little slice of heaven tucked away in the bustling Christchurch CBD. On arrival, 4 smiling, happy, laughing staff members greeted me in the beautifully presented lobby. All welcoming me, and wishing me a happy birthday. My room was exceptional. I booked a 'Luxe Twin Room', on level 2. The presentation was lovely. Crisp, clean, spacious layout. The room smelt nice, fresh, often there are odd smells like chemicals or must in some rooms, this was perfect. Beautiful full length window overlooking the city. There's a television with multiple options, including casting from your phone, which I did with success. There's an 'Alexa' in the room, so in the morning, I listened to my favourite radio station while packing up. The shower has 2 options, standard, or cascade. The water pressure is perfect. The bathroom was spacious and very clean. I loved the light up mirror. There's also a full length mirror out near the kitchenette. The kitchenette had a little stove, fridge, sink and all utensils, crockery etc. a pod coffee machine and powdered beverage options eg hot chocolate. There was a HUGE dressing gown. The bed was super comfortable, and there were multiple pillow option's for individual comfort. Cinderella made it home just before midnight, but was a little peckish, so I ordered a vegetarian lasagna from the room service menu & it arrived 15-minutes later! It was absolutely delicious. The buffet breakfast is an additional $35, and is small, but absolutely delicious. The sweet pastries are the best I've ever had, and the hash brown sticks are delicious! Again, breakfast staff were incredibly friendly & helpful. I ordered an oat milk flat white, an additional cost, and this was made quickly & also yummy. You can pay to valet park your vehicle securely for $30. There's also a spa attached to the hotel, Moss Spa, it's absolutely stunning. It's such a relaxing vibe. I had a relaxation package with Jess. This consisted of a full body massage and express facial, total 90-minutes. I drifted off to dreamland it was LUSH! I left feeling glowy & relaxed. The purpose of my stay was to treat myself for my birthday and unwind. The Sudima Christchurch City did not disappoint. For dinner I met with friends a 5-minute walk away at Koji Japanese restaurant. We then shared cocktails & laughs while having fun at Christchurch Casino, which is directly across the road from Koji. The hotel was very, very quiet, and although it is located in the CBD, walkable to all things night life & shopping, I was very impressed with how 'chill' this particular spot was. It felt safe. Thank you so much for making my little break away treat for myself so enjoyable Sudima. I've traveled around the world, and this is quite possibly the nicest accommodation I've ever stayed at. Special thanks to Alana for the great laughs, and wishing me luck with my life adventure's. Highly recommend to all, cannot...
Read moreWe had the most incredible experience during our recent stay at Sudima Christchurch City, and we want to give a special shout-out to two exceptional staff members, Alana and Rick.
From the moment we walked through the doors, we were greeted with warmth and professionalism, and it was Alana who made our check-in process seamless. She was not only efficient but also incredibly friendly, and her welcoming attitude set the tone for our entire stay.
Knowing we only had a night in Christchurch, Alana went above and beyond by providing recommendations on where to go to make the best out of our little time there and she was spot on with her recommendations. Thank you so much Alana, we would have loved to thank you personally but did not have the chance to.
Rick, too, deserves special recognition. He made sure we had everything we needed and ensured a smooth check in and was always ready to assist with a smile.
The staff at Sudima are the true gems of this hotel, and Alana and Rick exemplify what exceptional service means. They both went the extra mile to make my stay memorable. Their friendliness and attentiveness made me feel like a valued guest.
On top of this, the room was spacious, clean, and tastefully decorated. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep.
Overall, my stay at Sudima Christchurch City was exceptional, and it was Alana and Rick who made it truly special. I can't thank them enough for their exceptional hospitality and the memorable experience they provided. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Christchurch and can't wait to return. Read moreMy husband and I stayed 3nights to celebrate our 30th anniversary. Catherine at the reception put us into an unprepared room but she pretended as if she did a good thing for us to make an a bit early check in when we said we could just leave our bags. Maintenance guys came in and apologized.
Sam was very nice and I wished we should have gone to Sam at the reception. While talking to Sam, Catherine started the check in process with my husband.
We learned when we checked out that we were supposed to be in the other room where a flight attendant that I saw went in instead of us. The room where we stayed was executive room but it was rather small. There was no welcoming message that I read on another reviews. Another thing was ridiculous. A young male staff refused to give us a tea towel by saying that they didn’t have it. We then asked for a tissue box and he refused to give it either. We later complained about this to the reception and this was acknowledged. One good thing was that the bath was good. This hotel is not a 5 star hotel. Executive room is also not big enough to be called as executive room. The service was terrible from the young male staff. Catherine at the reception was very mean but disguised it. Sam was very nice. Overall, it was very mixed service and should be like 4 star hotel rather...
