Came to Queenstown and stayed for 5 nights in Sept 2025 (as a couple). Blown away and everything exceeded our expectations. Hidden gem. Would recommend and would stay again without hesitation. Greeted by Marianne who is an absolute delight - friendly and always happy to help. Always approachable and available when we needed. 11/10 customer service. Queenstown House was a home away from home. We stayed in the gamekeeper room which was a generous size located in the main building. Really grateful for the welcome letter, and room guide with suggestions. Mini fridge, wine glasses (and tea towel!) with tea coffee milk and biscuits. Daily room service. TV and sitting area, Fast WiFi. Private moderm bathroom with bath products, heated towel rack and robes available in room. Room well heated, we were never cold. Spotlessly clean. Board games/cards/puzzles available in the commom seating area. Wine tasting was an option but required a minimum of 4 people to go ahead so we were unable to partake as no one else wanted to join. Storage area available for our ski's and snow gear. Breakfast in the mornings was a delight, a la carte menu, or for people like us who had to head out early for skiing, Marianne arranged takeaway breakfast for us both. For those that don't have a vehicle it is a STEEP walk up the hill but aside from that the property is super close to the town centre. Magnificent views. Few things I'd suggest changing if I had to nit pick: no cutlery or plates were available in the room for when we had takeaway meals at night shower head too low even after rotating (we are 6ft) resulting in having to bend down in the shower and there was no shelf available in shower to place our own toiletries our room opened onto the shared outdoor area, which meant we couldn't enjoy the view of the mountains from our room without people constantly peering in as they walked past, particular nuisance when people finished brekky and headed back to their rooms via outdoor area around 8am until midday daily, there was a noisy humming sound outside our room, sounded like some sort of machine/generator which wasnt ideal. Nevertheless incredible and SO comfortable. Will be back next skiing...
Read moreThe location is just above the town, so a 10 /15 minute walk downhill to access the restaurants and shops etc and is therefore ideal. Our studio room had the most amazing view and had a large bedroom, bathroom and storage room c/w fridge and kettle etc. Ample car parking minimised the walk to our room, always a bonus when moving luggage. The breakfast was comprehensive and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. There are also washing machines and tumble driers on site, FOC and this also includes the powder. |You can also walk to the Skyline gondola, if you wish. Alternatively Uber is available and each ride to town is circa $11, which maybe worth it, as the return is up a steep hill for about 100m! |A regular wine tasting session is also held by the owners numerous times a week.|Would highly recommend and we thought the place...
Read moreWe had a great 2 night stay. We had a very warm welcome and the staff were super friendly throughout. Breakfast is excellent - cereal, pastries, fruit, yogurt AND a cooked breakfast all included as well as a beautiful view of the lake. Our rooms were very comfortable and a decent size. I particularly enjoyed the little terrace and the sky sports. The bathroom was equipped with everything you could possibly need from shaving kits to tooth brushes, shampoo, conditioner etc. That was a theme throughout - every detail has been thought through to deliver a superb guest experience. The hill to get back from town is very steep (my guess is 25%) so that gets the heart pumping! It's probably a brisk 10 min to...
