Hands down, one of the best boutique lodges my wife and I have ever had the pleasure of staying at. We're a few months back from our Honeymoon trip to New Zealand but we still find ourselves talking about our time at the Hulbert House on a weekly basis. The hospitality and luxuriousness of our stay was unmatched. We travel quite often and can confidently say we have never been made to feel more at home than when we stayed here. The location is perfect logistically - just a short walk from the downtown area of Queenstown but secluded enough to enjoy the grounds and facilities in peace. Plenty of activities, tours, and trips are available in the adventure capital of New Zealand. The food was absolutely exquisite and the drinks were spectacular. Chris really knows how to make a mean Old Fashioned and my wife highly enjoyed her delicious French toast every morning at breakfast! The room we stayed in was beautiful and very memorable. The service was top-notch and the bed was beyond comfortable. The little things like leaving us chocolates, welcome notes, and well wishes for celebrating the start of our marriage were all added bonuses we really appreciated. Our absolute favorite way to wind down our evenings after a long day of exploring, was to enjoy a nightcap by the fireplace in the common room area. We will never forget meeting Chris & Tav (and their dog!), and Yuikio during our stay. They and the other staff were so kind and helpful in making our honeymoon a memorable experience for a lifetime. We are definitely already planning our 10 year wedding anniversary trip back to New Zealand and to once again enjoy everything the Hulbert House has to offer! We cannot recommend it enough!! Stay here if you are visiting. You will not regret it! From the newlyweds, Marek & Chelsea

We stayed at Hulbert House for 3 nights and were looking for some luxury. This beautiful accommodation did not disappoint. Every interaction with Jay and the team was friendly and welcoming, they go above and beyond to provide an exceptional personalised experience for every guest. Our room was stunning. We had the most spectacular view looking over Queenstown to the lake and the convenience of a 4 minute walk to the centre of Queenstown. What more could you ask for. The breakfast was delicious with a continental selection as well as a cooked menu to choose from, prepared by the chef. In addition was the yummy baking and drinks and canapes in the evening. This is the best and we loved our time staying at Hulbert House and would do so again. Cannot recommend this place more highly. The surrounding gardens are so peaceful and the rooms are magnificently appointed. Managing to accomplish a luxurious look that is also comfortable and welcoming Thank you to Hubert House team for making our stay so special.

We have just returned home from a luxurious stay at the Hulbert House. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome — especially thoughtful and accommodating as we were traveling with our baby. Every team member was kind, helpful, and made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. A cot was set up for our baby in the room and in the dining room a high chair was provided with everything we may have needed to feed our baby (bottle, bowl, plate, cutlery). Breakfast was delicious and the chef made our baby porridge each morning. The room was stunning — beautifully designed, spacious, and spotlessly clean. The baby cot was a portacot with soft sheets and warm blankets - our baby slept amazingly well. The main bed was very comfortable, and the room had everything we may have needed. The house is stunning but it is the staff who make the stay an amazing experience. Thank you to the team for an unforgettable stay!

Always wanted to stay here. Lived up to the hype. Stayed with my husband and my mum as a birthday getaway. Simply amazing. Have stayed at alot of places in Queenstown and this is definitely one of the best. Particularly if you enjoy boutique accommodation! Beautiful rooms, amazing views, lovely gardens, homemade sweets always available- a bit dangerous for your waistline but oh well. The view from our room upstairs and from the front patio is, in my opinion, one of the best views of the Queenstown Lake I've seen. Short walk into town. Will be even shorter when the road works are done. Staff amazing and look after you so well they make you feel like you're the only guests staying. Tav welcoming us and treating us like family, even driving into town to get us one night because we got stuck in the rain. Chris making me better margaritas than most restaurants do these days. Laura making me a pot of 'wellness' tea when I woke up feeling under the weather. Honestly do yourself a favour and stay here. My brother (who had stayed at Hulbert House a few months prior to us) was going to propose to his partner at the Amisfield winery but ended up proposing at Hulbert House instead because it was just so picturesque. ||The only problem with our stay is that now we won't be able to stay anywhere in the world without comparing it to...

We travelled the North & South islands of New Zealand for 20 days staying in unique, diverse, quality lodgings. Hulbert House was our favourite sojourn, hands down. This lovely villa has seen many transformations over its 100 plus years. Now as a boutique hotel with its custom broadloom and English wallpaper, it offers luxury and elegance. Tav warmly welcomed us and gave us an overview of the boutique hotel and Queenstown. Our room, on the ground floor with spectacular views of Lake Wakatipu and the surrounding mountains, had a comfortable king bed with quality linens, a wardrobe, desk, mini fridge, kettle, a selection of teas, a plunger coffee maker, coffee beans replenished daily and a coffee grinder. A beautiful soaker tub (and shower) completed the ensuite bathroom. But more than the furniture and fixings, we enjoyed the hospitality of Tav, Chris and Jay and the entire team, the nightly drinks and canapés (where we had lively conversations with fellow guests) and the superb breakfasts. Hulbert House will without question, be our most memorable stay in beautiful New Zealand. Thank you for your masterful...
