We recently visited Foodland Restaurant in Al Khuwair, full of anticipation for a delightful dining experience. Unfortunately, our expectations were far from met, and the overall culinary journey turned out to be a regrettable one.

To start with, the ambiance was lackluster, with dim lighting and dated decor that did little to create a welcoming atmosphere. The staff seemed disinterested, and service was slow, leaving me waiting for an extended period before even placing my order.

The menu, while extensive, did not translate into quality when it came to the dishes. I opted for a soup, expecting an authentic and flavorsome experience. However, what arrived at my table can only be described as a culinary disaster.

The main course, a paneer tikka & mix veg was disaster and using same gravy in both, with a complete absence of the promised spices that are characteristic of Punjabi cuisine, the butter naan was overcooked, the portion size was meager, and the presentation left much to be desired.

The lack of attention to detail was evident in every bite, leaving me questioning the quality of the ingredients used.

To make matters worse, when I tried to express my concerns to the staff, we were met with indifference. There was no effort to address our dissatisfaction or offer any form of resolution.

In conclusion, our visit to Foodland Restaurant in Al Khuwair was a culinary disappointment of the highest order. Lunch Foodland Restaurant offers a delightful experience for lunch, especially for those seeking authentic and flavorful Indian cuisine. Located conveniently, it provides a welcoming ambiance that is both comfortable and suitable for a relaxed midday meal. During my recent visit, I opted for the Kerepa Thali, and it certainly did not disappoint. The thali was a vibrant spread, showcasing a variety of dishes, each with its distinct flavor profile. The portion sizes were generous, offering a satisfying and wholesome meal. From the perfectly cooked rice and soft rotis to the array of curries, daals, and vegetable preparations, every component of the thali was fresh and well-prepared. I was a regular customer in Foodlands for few years and now we could see a drastic decline of food quality. I went last week to the restaurant and my wife ordered their "signature beef roast" dish along with porotta. While having itself she said that the beef was a little salty and the taste was not good, but still had little. Later at night she had severe stomach pain and we had to take her to hospital. Doctor confirmed it's food poison and suggested blood test and stool test and given the drips with multiple medicine and glucose. It was so severe, to the extend that we had to stay in the hospital emergency for whole night. Also they had given medicine for 5 days - now it's 4 days and still she is not recovered. I cant even imagine the level of poison added in the food.

I shared the experience within my close friends group and within an hour I got another friend who had the same experience from the same restaurant on the same day, but it was another dish!!

I visited the restaurant again along with my friend and complained about the same. They said they will try to improve!! Looks like it's a trial and error business for them.

Please do think twice before you visit this restaurant, they don't care about customer health or food quality.
