I’ve always been tempted to visit this restaurant whenever I receive their weekend special menu—everything on it sounds mouthwatering. So this weekend, I finally decided to have lunch at Imperial. This visit felt extra special because they had just launched their new summer menu, titled “Sip into Freshness.”
From the soup section, I ordered the “Kozhi Kurumulaku Rasam.” It was a truly authentic Kerala-style pepper rasam, but with a twist—tender chicken added in. It was both delicious and healthful!
Choosing a starter was a bit tricky since everything on the list looked so tempting. Thankfully, the staff were incredibly helpful and recommended the “Sizzling Gambas.” Despite the bold name, it turned out to be a vibrant and flavorful Filipino dish made with prawns, bell peppers, and radish. I enjoyed it thoroughly.
For the main course, I opted for the “Kaya Attirachi Curry” along with one appam and one nool parotta. The dish, a mutton curry with raw banana, had that authentic Kerala-style flavor. It was a bit spicy for my taste, but I still liked it—especially when paired with the appam.
With so many refreshing choices in their newly introduced summer drinks, I wanted something light. On the staff’s suggestion, I tried the Festive Kiwi and Pineapple Cooler. I’m usually not a fan of kiwi, but this drink was both tasty and perfect for the scorching 50-degree heat. The chunks of pineapple and kiwi added a burst of natural flavor.
I must also mention how friendly and attentive the staff at Imperial Kitchen are. I’ve always had a great experience whenever I visit.
The total for my weekend lunch, including small bottles of water, came...

Read moreThis is a late review but always wanted to mention it. We went on a friday for lunch. It was full and people were in queue also. The ambience is great and has lots of seating. The service was very slow for the rush maybe due to shortage of main waiters because we saw just 2 of them. The orders also took a long time to come. We didn't expect that wait for meals since it should be readily available. We ordered 5 items. The much advertised starter Pandan chicken was tasty but the price could be lower for the quantity. The Imperial Mutton dum biryani was just normal with very less accompaniments. Nothing special. We ordered Drunken beef noodles for a change but had to search for the noodles among the vegetables. Healthwise it is good though towards the end only the vegetables are leftover particularly if you have kids. Vegetarian meals were ok with white rice instead of matta which even small restaurants have. The south fresh catch was soft but the absence of a piece of lemon, which would have enhanced the taste, was a total let down because the masala was less tangy. The accompanying salad looked very appealing but turned out plain without any dressings Overall our first impression was not very good. The prices are a little high so not the very affordable range. We might give it another try for...
