Holidays Hostel Arequipa — Hotel in Arequipa

Room was quite big. Breakfast was good with a rotating item each day plus the usual bread, and the chef helped me cook a quick surprise meal for my wife one morning. The owner Fermin was super helpful in several instances, even sending money through Yape for us to book our bus. He also gave us a complimentary drink for my wife’s birthday! He had multiple great recommendations within town as well (including his insistence that Capitana is the only picantería worth it for rocoto reqellena, which we realized was true after a few bites). Our family has stayed all over the world at hostels/hotels/AirBnB’s and therefore are aware not all places are as they advertise to be..||Our trip to Arequipa was made very comfortable largely due to our choice to stay at Holidays Hostel. Great price, pleasant breakfast on the open air terrace and generous and lovely staff and owner. We communicated and reserved our room via WhatsApp from our town of Tacna, and when we arrived by bus the owners allowed us to check into our room prior to the typical check in time....

Awful experience. I got several BEDBUGS bites one day before my flight. I have bites even on my face (extremely itchy). I communicated the incident with the staff and they were pretending that my bites were for something different. Of course it was BEDBUGS it is not the first time that I had been bitten by bedbugs.

Excellent location, but the place is noisy; they start the music from the bar at 7am until midnight; not a big place to rest. The bathroom are dirty.
