We chose this location to end our two- week trip to Peru. We took the Andean Explorer to Arequipa, and Cesar reached out two days prior to confirm our room and check to see if we needed transportation to the hotel. He was there upon arrival to escort us to our room and there every day when we woke for breakfast. The hotel was a complete retreat from the busy streets of Arequipa. We had a garden view room, and we spent our first night on the porch with the quiet sounds of the garden and nearby fountain in a state of total relaxation. The room was gorgeous, and so are the courtyards where rooms are located. It’s like being in a gorgeous, quiet bubble in the heart of Arequipa. Just a couple of minutes walk to the monastery and amazing restaurants. The real key to this place is the charm of Cesar and his staff. They allowed us a late checkout for a very late flight, and they took care of us right up until we left—above and beyond. A fantastic tranquil way to end a wonderful trip.

From the very first moment, we felt welcomed and at home. Cesar guided us through the beautiful, brand-new complex, which has been tastefully designed down to the last detail. We had the option to choose from several rooms that Cesar showed us – each room was unique and charming in its own way. After a delicious breakfast with freshly cut fruit, eggs, and for me, gluten-free homemade bread, we were ready to explore Arequipa. Cesar provided us with fantastic tips for restaurants and sights, making our day perfect. After an exciting day in Arequipa, we relaxed at the Palacio on comfortable loungers with an alpaca blanket and enjoyed the peace and quiet. Cesar even helped us to organize a private transfer to Puno and gave us a lunch bag with homemade cookies and fruits for the long trip to Puno. We thoroughly enjoyed our three-day stay; it was one of the best hotels we have ever been to. Thank you Palacio Guaqui, thank you Cesar, for everything – you are the best!

The moment we arrived at this amazing hotel we were awed by the unique classic volcanic stone architecture. We were greeted by Cesar the hotel manager who made us feel like royalty. We stayed in the presidential suite which was the most impressive room I have stayed in of all my years of luxury travel. The hotel is peaceful, luxurious and very accommodating. It is situated in a prime location with walking distance to shops, restaurants, and attractions. The breakfast is delicious in a luxury setting. We also had lunch, which was one of the best meals we had during our travel. I highly recommend this wonderful place if you are considering visiting Arequipa.

After landslide cancelled our Andean train to Arequipa, we flew instead and needed quality hotel in the centre at short notice. We found Palacio Guaqui and this wonderful hotel made up for much of our disappointment at losing the epic train ride. First, the hotel is brilliantly located in the centre near major attractions and great restaurants. Secondly, it is an architectural beauty, with rooms that are beyond classy. Thirdly, it was so comfortable, lovely bed, space, the best shower pressure you could imagine etc. Fourthly, Cesar the manager is exceptional. He greeted us within minutes of our booking, arranged taxi, showed us personally to room, helped us with tourism advice/restaurant bookings, and was approachable at all times. He is building a strong team too. Fifthly, the breakfast was so tasty and fresh - fruit salad to die for and lovely cooked food. The evening dinner service is evolving, but we had great salad on arrival night, and there are top restaurants nearby. Finally, this is a new hotel (less than three months old) in a wonderful historic setting and now is the time to grab a booking, because if not carries on like this it will be fully booked and prices will rise. We were unlucky to lose our long planned train journey, but blessed to find this lovely unique hotel in a...

Palacio Guaqui is a Hidden Gem in Arequipa! I had an incredible stay with my family. I can confidently say it exceeded all my expectations.

The hotel is a true architectural masterpiece, blending historical charm with modern comforts. Nestled in the heart of Arequipa, its location is perfect for exploring the city’s vibrant culture and breathtaking landscapes.

The rooms were impeccably clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated, showcasing a mix of traditional Peruvian design and contemporary elegance.

The staff went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. From warm welcomes to personalized recommendations, their hospitality was exceptional. Cesar, the hotel GM is absolutely the best of the best: he was so lovely and helpful to accommodate us in the best possible way and help with our baby and toddler!

If you’re looking for a unique and luxurious experience in Arequipa, Palacio Guaqui is the perfect choice. I can’t wait to return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting this...
