Positives:||- very friendly and helpful staff (but there seems to be only 1 that can speak English)||- very accommodating, my sister had too much left over 1 dinner time and they were kind enough to let us out it in their ref and heat it the next morning||- the room was very spacious, the bathroom as well||- they have a space heater||||Negative:||- there is a very heavy scent (I can't quite identify) that hits you when you first enter the room||- the floor leaves a reddish/orange-y residue on the soles of your feet/socks if you go shoe less around the room. I think it is the floor polish that wasn't quite worked into the wood enough||- the will only be 1 set of towels. If you ask for new ones they will get your current set and launder it. Or at least that was our experience.||- there was a bunched up spider web hanging from one of the lights||||Not sure if this will be positive or negative for others but for me was a big negative... the hotel sits at almost the top of a hill (approx 45 degree angle walk up to it for 2 blocks). If you want to get to the Plaza de Armas you'd need to walk...
Read moreGreat service, good quality at a good price. Plenty of hot water, a few things for breakfast, enough to get you going in the morning, great coffee. There's plenty of shops nearby to get all your souvenirs and gifts. We stayed here three nights and we hired a cab to take us around Cusco, he was very knowledgeable about everything in Cusco as he'd also worked in tourism previously. His name is Alejandro, I wish I could remember his last name. He took us to the local market where you can try fresh, traditional foods, there is fresh coca tea which helped warm me up and helped with a bit of altitude illness. We also visited the salt mines, Salineras, and where they bake all the bread with local wheat. |Lots to see, definitely get out there and explore it! |We booked our Machu Picchu trip ahead of time with Justina at Origenes International Travel, she prepared all the transportation itineraries for us at a great price and we didn't have to worry about a thing, it all worked...
Read moreI stayed here for a month whilst working and sightseeing in Cusco. The room was really nice, very clean, with a comfy bed, and decent shower. All the staff there are so friendly, and very helpful. It seems very family oriented, and the pets there are also pretty cute, their dog is very sweet, and I would often hear the ginger cat chasing its toy ball outside my room. The breakfast was really nice, there’s plenty to choose from. Also I really enjoyed my conversations with Marco every morning, he was really knowledgeable about the local area, history, and how to get to certain places. Thank you so much Eduardo, Marco, and the rest of Killaquente staff/family, you were all so helpful, friendly, and accommodating. I will definitely return....
