From the outside you cannot tell much, but once you enter the hotel it truly is a beautiful and living piece of history. The interior of the compound is gorgeous. But there’s a few pros and cons I would leave for a traveler considering staying here. Pros: - lovely interior, rooms are adequate and not that expensive. Cons: - location - while a 10-12 min walk to the main square, there are a lot of “interesting” foot traffic and people lingering directly outside the hotel. Likely due to the large marketplace right outside. While I didn’t experience any negatives, it appears that at night hours it may not be the safest place to be. -noise - while the room was inside the compound and there was no noise from traffic, the room above sounded like an earthquake at times. The ceiling must be extremely thin. -breakfast - while not terrible, it was by far the worst breakfast we’ve had in Peru across all the hotels and places we’ve stayed over the last couple weeks. Eggs were cold and had been sitting awhile. Bread was definitely sitting out for a long time. There was wings and rice which were also cold and likely been sitting outside for awhile. The fruit was ok though, not only a couple options whereas other hotels had a ton more. Overall, it’s a great historical experience to view, but I personally wouldn’t return here or...

Our biggest mistake is that we didn't read the reviews and booked our entire 5 nights in cusco here. The first night, we realised we made a huge mistake and decided to cancel and leave. But the hotel staff gave us hell to cancel the remaining nights and we had to contact Booking.com and fight a lot to get our refunds. I settled for less money because I was tired of them ruining our vacation and mood.
Don't be fooled by the beauty of the monastery! The rooms are horrible, cold, the bed is very uncomfortable, hotel provides bare minimum essentials (like 2 pillows only and 1 toilet roll), and like other reviews said they have 0 sound proofing (we were woken up twice at night, which sucked because our tours really require that you get good night sleep). So I carefully thought about it and this was our worst hotel experience in 15 years...
Read moreWow. That was horrible. The only really nice thing about this hotel is their patio. But you come to the hotel for relaxation, right? Well, it’s impossible to relax here. Walls are paper thin. You can hear every word your neighbors say. You can hear them having sex, snoring, watching YouTube, coughing and walking. And it’s LOUD. Doesn’t matter if you stay on the ground or the second floor. Even earplugs won’t help. Also mind that many tours in Cuzco are starting at 3-4 a.m. and people start chatting and packing around this time. So you will wake up every night, it’s unavoidable. Add the fact that rooms are very basic, beds are small and hard, and the hotel obviously doesn’t care about details. The shelf in our bathroom was broken long ago and have never been fixed, all towels were ragged, we had just 2 outlets in our room - both on one side of the bed. Well, entire place is...
